Description of Work: Our sewer line had been backing up through the basement drain for the past 2 months when I would do laundry. We had the line cleaned twice and it would only work for about 3-4 weeks before it started backing up again. The third time it really backed up and was and I had a mess! My husband travels with his job and was not at home. So I logged on to Angie's List and saw that Justin Dorsey Plumbing had really good feedback. I am always nervous that i am going to get 'taken' being a woman. So I called Justin Dorsey plumbing and they sent someone out the same day! My plumber was Paul Fiscus and I was impressed right away. (The last plumber was only interested in cleaning the drain and leaving. I could never get the problem located) Paul Fiscus was actually interested in listening to what my problems were and pinpointing the problem. I was quoted a price to clean the drain and run a camera to locate the problem area. After I told Paul how much I had already paid the previous plumber he called his boss and he reduced the price in HALF! Paul spent the first day trying to clear the sewer line so he could run the camera. Unfortunately it would never drain. It was then decided that we must have a break in the line or a tap had slid. I was told that I would not be charged for that days work if we decided to have them do a locate and repair for $2900.00. My husband and I both felt like this price was really high! I felt like Paul was really doing a thorough job so we agreed. The wonderful thing is that Paul didn't just start digging up our whole yard! When everything was ready to start digging Paul tried to drain the line one more time. It drained! This was great because we were able to use the camera and locate the problem! I was actually at work and Paul took the time to call me so I could come and see what he found. I ran home and got to watch the camera and see that there was a bad connection where we connected to the City's main sewer line. It was full of tree roots!! Before digging Paul took the extra time to call the City and have them come flush the main line and make sure this wasn't something they should be responsible for. Luck wasn't on our side that day and it was confirmed it was our responsibility. So the digging finally began. Once the pipe was located Paul removed the clay tile and put us in a nice new PVC pipe with a complete connection. I should not have a problem as long as I live here. This makes me happy.

Description of Work: After the pressure gauge to the water pressure tank suddenly started to act up, and finally losing all water pressure, I called Justin Dorsey Plumbing to investigate what was causing the problem and to get it fixed. The technician who showed up was Paul, and he went right to work. He checked out the well casing and immediately determined the problem. The fitting attached to the well pump had broken through and was pumping water from the well out onto the ground. There were still several inches of snow on the ground, but he grabbed some shovels & tools, and went to work digging down the several feet to get to fitting. I felt so sorry for the poor guy laying out there in all the cold snow, water & mud, working to repair the fitting he had to stretch down into a hole in which to get to. When he got back to the house to check how everything was working, he stood outside on the porch to remove his boots and coveralls so he wouldn't get the inside of the house muddy. It was so cold, and his stocking feet had to get wet from some water that had spilled out from the lines next to the pressure tank inside. He then recommended that we run a new water line from the tank to the water heater, as the hot water wasn't coming out as it should. He scrambled back and forth into and out of his boots and coveralls several times, going between the water heater inside, and drilling and running the new line from our commando-style crawl space. While he was in the crawlspace, he noticed that the drain from the bathtub was not working properly. This is a very old house, and that tub drain is at least 40-some years old. I'd also heard gurgling sounds once in a while coming from the tub drain, so I had no doubt that it needed to be fixed. Paul worked from 10:30 that morning, straight through to 7:00 pm without stopping for a lunch break or any kind of break, just to have the well fixed and the new water line in. He explained that he would need to come back a day or so later, to take care of removing the old drain and putting in a new one. He came back two days later and fixed the drain, and everything was going fine. Even though he'd chat with me a bit, it was always while working. He never took a break, sat down, or just rested even for a few minutes. He answered all my questions, and showed me how to shut off the new line if it became necessary. He was very nice guy and professional the entire time. He impressed me with the way he could easily explain what the problem was so a lay person could understand, and how to go about fixing it. I'd read good reviews about Justin Dorsey on Angie's List, and while they sounded a bit pricey, a friend of mine recommended them, so I gave them a try. I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received from Paul. I would definitely recommend him again, any time. .

Description of Work: They were scheduled to come to my mother's house for septic pump issues, and they were kind enough to work my house in, the same day for a drain leak. They were extremely professional, courteous and prompt! We will only use Justin Dorsey Plumbing for future jobs. They are WONDERFUL!! Highly recommend to anyone!

Description of Work: We had our water heater replaced on a Saturday in March. The water heater tank that we had, had once again split at the seam around the top/ We had Dorsey Plumbing come out to replace the water heater. After looking the system over the plumber informed/educated us on why are water heater had malfunctioned again. We were thinking about going to tank-less water heater because two other tanks had blown in the previous ten years. The plumber, who did get paid on a percentage, advised us to stay away from the tank-less water heater due to the cost vs benefit. He ended up putting in a new water heater plus he added a black-flow regulator, a pressure control valve and also connected an expansion tank to try and help prevent this problem from happening again.

Description of Work: Justin Dorsey Plumbing was called to correct plumbing issues created by another plumbing company. They came on very short notice and provided knowledgeable advice on what needed to be done. Although we had been advised by the other plumber that several thousand dollars of work needed to be performed, the technician told us the truth about what we needed. He and his crew went above and beyond to correct the problems and to do complete the job very quickly. While at our location, the technician also noticed other items that needed repaired and fixed them at no charge. Due to the supreme service we have received from this company, we have used them on several of our projects at various properties and would highly recommend they be used by anyone!

Description of Work: Fixed 2 faucets requiring the technician, Ron, to go and get parts which were not a standard size, unplugged a drain which ultimately required he use the main and fixed a toilet not originally planned for after we found it. He also replaced the lid to the main which was broken. He was polite, efficient and explained what was occuring well. He let me know when things were not going as desired and the needed fix.

Description of Work: If there was a grade higher than an "A" I'd surely give it to Justine Dorsey Plumbing. In getting ready to move, we discovered mold in a room adjacent to our laundry room. It had been caused by a very slow leak from a water softener that Justin Dorsey installed last November. The water traveled across the laundry room, under the wall and into the carpet of the adjoining room. Mr. Dorsey came out to inspect the damage and immediately agreed to mediate the mold and repair the damage including replacing dry wall and carpet. We've used this company many times before before, but this example of their service surely iced the cake.

Description of Work: The outside faucet had froze over the winter. They came to repair it and they put a new faucet on.

Description of Work: We had a leak in our crawlspace. There was a bend in one of the pipes that was causing the leak. They re-did and re-supported the pipe so it wouldn't droop again.

Description of Work: Our sewer line was blocked between the toilets and the septic tank. When we attempted to plunge one of the toilets the copper sewer lines in the basement split wide open. Called Justin Dorsey plumbing first thing in the morning and was told they couldn't get someone out until about 4:00PM but would attempt to get them there sooner. Tony showed up right after lunch and went to work. He walked the entire job with me and made notes and explained all my options to me as far as what we could/could not replace, different options to do it, and different places to stop the replacement. In the end I decided to replace the sewers from the two toilets to the point they went through the basement wall. We also decided to clean the drain closest to the septic tank from the toilet to the tank. Tony priced it all up for me taking whatever steps he could to minimize my cost (such as using the more larger job as the second job so I woulc get a discount for "add-on" work) etc... I sincerely appreciated this and this is one reason I would highly recommend this firm. Why they were not the least expensive, they also were not the highest price and the quality and professionalism far exceeded what I paid. It took Tony two days to complete the work but it was not for lack of effort on his part. He stayed with the work the whole time only taking a lunch break and occasional rest. He cleaned up all messes as he went. He was extremely careful with our wood floors that had just been refinished and he tolerated all my questions without making me feel as if I was an idiot or disturbing him. This was one of the first times I have ever had someone do work at my home that I actually felt I received a quality job that I felt good about. Highly recommend this firm.

Description of Work: We woke up this morning to our septic alarm buzzing. It is Sunday, Memorial Day weekend and RACE DAY - we thought we'd have to pay an arm and a leg to get someone out here and quick. After calling several different companies and being told their "Trucks were full" we got a quick callback from Justin Dorsey plumbing and they were out here in just over an hour. The man thoroughly checked our dosing tank, septic tank and alarm and found no problems, lucky for us!
