On my wood fence and deck there was a nest of wood bees and black jacks that had nested at the bottom and entrance of my fence. This made it terrible for me to host deck parties for company, because they are very bothersome. I called Critter Control to come out this year to get rid of them, since they did an excellent job last year (last year only took them 2 applications) . This year was really bad. And along with the rains, they had to come spray 3 times. My fence is huge, so he had to spray around entire fence and also my wood deck. They did a fantastic job coming back out to respray at no charge. So far my husband while he was mowing the lawn has not seen any more of them. I put a B on the responsiveness due to the many times it took to get rid of the bees, but again they were great in coming back out to respray. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We thought there was a mother raccoon that had nested under us. However, they were unable to find her and we thought that she had moved on. When we saw more racoons, they did come back because the $99.99 covers 30 days. They were also unable to catch those racoons, but they were able to address the situation by leaving vertical twigs at the opening. That way we could tell if there was activity. There as been none since, so we think they've moved on.

Terry was excellent. I called his office and was interviewed by a competent and pleasant assistant. Terry showed up at appointed time. He examined the outside of our house for access to the attic and found it. He checked the attic area inside where the squirrels were gaining entry. It was a tricky business, because the eave/overhang area that they were coming through was not visible from the inside, nor was their "nest". He set up 1 trap on the roof near the access hole. (They had chewed through the roofing material and underlying wood to create a hole about 3 1/2 " in circumference. Terry came back daily (excluding weekends) checked the trap and placed a report card on the front door each day, indicating whether a squirrel had been caught or not. It's important to mention that he did this every day for 2 months through the worst Indiana winter ever. I thought he'd injure himself on our icy walkway and setting up the ladder to check and reset the traps. We could see the traps from our kitchen window and could verify that a squirrel had taken the bait. It took a couple of months but 2 adults and 4 young squirrels were caught and disposed of. they had done a bit of damage to the interior attic: boring holes in drywall and pulling insulation down for nesting material. Evidently, the female had bore her litter after "moving in" in late October. We didn't hear much activity till late December when the litter got older and more adventurous. Once we were squirrel free Terry repaired the roof access, replacing shingles and placing a metal plate that conformed to the roof under it. Terry was a thorough professional. He answered all questions with detailed information. He's very knowledgeable about his work and willing to help the client understand and put them to ease.
Description of Work: Trapped and removed 6 red squirrels from attic and repaired roof access. It took 2 1/2 months. He also came back, upon request, within the guarantee time (1 month after final trapping) and found a new hole on the opposite side of the house and set a trap).

Description of Work: I used Critter Control of Indianapolis to trap a couple squirrels. There was a piece of siding or fascia that was missing, some squirrels got into the attic. They set live traps, captured them and actually re-patched up that miss of fascia so it's actually fixed.

Called for appointment to remove a birds nest from the eave of my home. I had to wait six days for the appointment and was advised that he would be here between 10 and 2. I called at 9AM to confirm. A no show, I called at 3 and was told "its mating season, Randy will be there within the hour." At five, with things to do, I called again and was told it was still on. I pointed out I had waited six days for the appointment and have wasted an entire day hanging around waiting. Angie blamed mating season and Randy blamed Angie for over scheduling him claiming 38 appointments as though she didn't check with him two hours earlier. He lied. I told him not to bother. After wasting all my time I wasn't about to pay them for the privilege.

It turned out okay, but the pricing was a little misleading. I think we paid an extra $75-80 more to cover the bait (the cost of materials) he put out. If I had known that there would be extra costs, I wouldn’t have purchased the Big Deal. The quality was okay. It did solve the problems we were having though.

To be honest, that is allot of money to initially put out on a visit that takes less than 5 mins to look at situation to put a trap on the roof, but I was desperate. It was winter Jan 14 and the racoons had torn parts of my roof away where the gutters were and also gotten into my ducting and it was difficult to keep the house warm. Critter Control caught 2 over a couple of months, and during that process there was one raccoon that escapped the trap a few times.. I had to stay on them, calling them and letting them know when something was caught. I kept telling them that there was one smart one, so even after they removed their trap, I kept mine in play and caught 2 more raccoons on my own. I had my roof replaced and the one was trapped in my attic and chewed its way out on a friday night. So I had to guard my house against reentry over the weekend. This raccoon would escape the trap and repeatedly challenge my 3 dogs. HERE is were SKILL, QUALITY and CUSTOMER SERVICE would come into play. I bet I had a solid of 2 hours of sleep over the weekend, trying to make sure that the Raccoon didnt get back in. I called Critter Control and discribed my weekend, that last I saw it was in my yard 2 hours ago and I had a trap there. I also let them know it has also been in my Fireplace, they said they would have their guy stop by... who came late in the afternoon and moved my trap and put his (that is just like mine) right next to mine in the back yard. I was home, normally they would call before they stop by and I could have told the guy that the raccoon was now in my chimney. AND since there was a trap in the backyard already, the other should have been put on the chimney, but it wasn't. It felt very half-assed and I called to let Critter Control, I was unhappy. To repeat, I was operating on low sleep, frustration, desperation and Critter Control had known the circumstances, and instead of listening to why I was upset? They started lecturing me on how good a job they did...No, they didnt, and when I asked them to listen to reasons why I was upset with the work they were supposed to preform and the lack of customer service, he still kept on talking.... so I raised my voice...all I wanted was for him to hear that they should have called before they stopped by, that there was a communication failure, that even with the facts they already had, a trap needed to be set by the chimney, not move my trap over so and put theirs in the same spot. Nope he wouldnt hear me, appologize for not getting the job done correctly, and now I am another day into having a raccoon in my house. Instead of helping, my situation is now worse... all because they were trying to do things fast and cut corners in the process... Even after saying I would not be using them, that I would be writing this review, he still held on that he did a great job. I only hope a raccoon like this one visits their house and I am sure he would see it another way. I am hoping that the next place I utilize in Angie's list has the skills to remove a difficult animal like this one. Update, I love this response because I couldn't go with the repairs until they got all the raccoons out. I repeatedly told them there was one INSIDE the ATTIC, and they did nothing to get her out. They only catered to trying to trap the male raccoons that came a calling to her. I went with another vendor Animal Management. He did more in one visit than Critter Control did in 2 months. He went up into my attic and pulled the 4 (Mom and Babies out) and for LESS, and then I could get the necessary repairs and treatments needed. I highly recommend Animal Management over Critter Control!

Customers are entitled to their opinions of experiences and reviews. All information regarding our services was not set forth within her complaints. Cooperation from the customer is in part the embodiment with any service industry. Ms. Canada, in January of 2014, did not follow through with our recommendations of repairs necessary to keep the raccoons out of her attic. She chose another avenue resulting in adverse conditions with Critter Control 3 months later. We feel it is argumentative to respond to this complaint any further. Our history and reports re: our services can speak for itself. Thank you.

The review of the task at hand went as expected. Just fine. It wasn't until the next day when the provider came to check the trps that I requested that they come pick them up as I determined that I was unwilling to pay for traps set outside that had caught animals. The issue were the animals that were in the home. I was astounded by the notion that the provided wanted to setup traps outside my home where any animal could enter them, then charge me 45-60 dollars for disposal of the animal.

Mr. [removed member name]-we regret that you were not to the understanding of how our process works for the eradication of animals in the attic-we have very successfully used this method for 30 years and have caught just the animals in the attic, because they are territorial within there habitat. If there are stray animals caught, we remove them from the premises, and do not charge the customer for non-target animals. We return to the home Monday through Friday to check our traps and make sure there is fresh bait in these traps for the succession of capture. The office staff spends a great deal of time explaining our services for the understanding of the customer before we arrive to the home. I hope this answers your complaint to a process you did not understand. Again, we regret your unsatisfactory experience. Thank you.

I was hearing some critters in my attic, so I called critter control to come check it out. They send someone up through my tiny crawl space, where he found lots of evidence that a family of raccoons had made themselves at home. He was immediately able to step outside my house and locate the hole where they were getting in. The same day he set up traps on my roof to catch the little critters. Once they were taken care of, someone from critter control came and patched up the hole in my roof where they were getting in, and painted it to match. I wasn't even home, it was a simple process. I then worked back with Critter Control to have them remove all the damaged insulation, the "presents" the raccoons left in my attic and any other wood that was damaged. It was an entire day ordeal, but once they were done all of the damaged material was taken out, and I had a brand new attic with new insulation. They even sprayed a nice smell, and a special smell that wouldn't attract a new family in the future. Every service member I worked with was professional, courteous, and on time. Their home office was super helpful in helping me work with my insurance company to file a claim, and emailed me copies of everything I needed. I happened to call them during "busy/mating" season so I was worried I would have had to wait before getting service done but they met my needs right away. I was even on vacation while they were trapping the animals and they took care of that all from the outside without me being home. Great company, and I would definitely use them again...but I hope I don't have to.

My experience with them was fine. They didn't find a dead animal under my deck; they did not see it so obviously it was in a corner. Seemed like a lot of money for no success.
Description of Work: Set out a trap for a raccoon that had torn a hole in my roof. They never caught a raccoon. They left the trap for 3-4 weeks. The raccoon was still around after I had the roof repaired. I figured out on my own the tree to remove that the animal was using for access. (The raccoon never went near the trap). That is what solved the problem.

(member's name removed)-we regret you feel that the 10+ trips we made to your home to trap and remove a raccoon was a waste of money. Unfortunately, we can not control the travel habits of these animals. Especially during breeding season when the raccoons travel a lot to mate. As for the tree that was removed, that is one access to a roof area, but, raccoons will scale the homes by way of downspouts, cable poles set close to homes and etc. There is no way to keep a raccoon from getting on the roof area and in the soffit areas. During this trapping time and at the completion, your service call was warranted for an additional 30 days. Again, we regret you felt the need to post such a negative review for the commitment we promised we would keep. If you should have raccoon problems in the future, we hope your next experience will be more of a positive nature, considering the circumstance. Thank you.

I loved Critter Control when I was dealing with Tracy and Margie in the office at that time. Not sure what has happened. I do not believe traps were not checked every day - I am home, and did not see someone checking traps and did not receive a note daily. I did very much like the gentlemen who came out, but that's not enough. Trap was set on a Friday (they don't check on weekends), caught a squirrel within an hour or two, I called Saturday and left a message, "This squirrel is thumping around, scared, cold - unacceptable." Several hours later I find the trap with a dead squirrel in it laying on the ground next to my kitchen door. The squirrel may have rocked the cage off the roof and died from the fall, but it laid there for two or three more days. After squirrels were gone, and the snow and ice were off the roof, I had to call several times over a period of several WEEKS to get someone back out to "close the holes." The reaction to my phone calls was surprisingly impatient, considering I was paying Critter Control quite a bit of money for a service. When someone finally came back out, nothing was done to even temporarily close off the holes. Instead, I got an estimate for another $275 on top of the $750 I'd already paid. Of course, we've had nothing but snow and ice since - so those repairs could not have been done even if I had wanted to continue to give my money to Critter Control, and of course, I have squirrels again. I will not use Critter Control in the future, and I've used them many times in the past. Very disappointing.

[member name removed] after reviewing your post, there are a few things that do not make sense. Your post was for service 10-10-2013-you scheduled an appointment with us 11-12-13 through 11-20-13. We sent traps at the deck area to remove a opossum. At the same time, you had a construction crew working on your deck area, were the opossum had been living. Brian checked this trap and rebaited for 8 days. Brian explained that due to the activity from the construction crew, it is highly likely the opossum moved on. He went further to explain that you had a 30 day warranty on your service call charge of 134.10. If the opossum were to return, call the office and we would reset traps to remove it. The service we provided was on average a cost to you of 16.76 per day to drive to your home and check for opossum activity. We are sorry if you feel that this was unreasonable. If you could have scheduled the construction to your deck after our services requested, we would have caught the opossum and removed it. I will follow up with Angie's List to have this issue resolved. Thank you.

Critter Control was punctual for their appointment and very thorough with the inspection of our house and attic. We called them because to remove a bat from the house. They found some evidence of bat dropping and suggested remediation. We established a date and they performed the work. They arrived at the date and time established, performed the work and cleaned up after they were done. I was very satisfied with their professionalism and work ethic. I would recommend their services to family and friend with no reservations.

It was great and that guy was awesome. He's knowledgeable and he's the owner who came and do it. We have a real wooded kind of lot around us and he set up mice traps outside. We also had some of these squirrels called red squirrels or little smaller miniature squirrels that got up on my car attic area, they set traps outside, managed to trap those humanely, then figured where they were getting in and did the repairs. We not have a maintenance program putting mouse traps outside so quarterly the come out and do that so we are using them on-going.
