Apex Design Build

Purchased a deal and they were very responsive. Showed up when they were supposed to. Work took longer then what was covered and they gave me a quote of what it would take to finish the job. Seemed a bit more expensive, but did a great job and were professional.

calling I purchased a Angie Big Deal for 2 hours of professional electrical labor from Apex Design Build. The service to repair a yard light that automatically comes on at dusk and off at dawn. Prior to was purchasing this deal I replaced the light bulb in the yard light which normally solves the problem, however, this time it did not. I also wanted the service person to replace my old motion flood light near the top of my roof with a new LED motion light. The appointment was scheduled between 8:30 9:00 am on Friday morning. Jason Morton the service man called the night before to inform me that he would arrive about 9:30 am, he arrived at 9:50 am. He looked at the yard light and thought all it needed was a light bulb I assured him that I had already installed a new light bulb. He then looked a the electrical panel and there was no breaker that was off. He seemed puzzled so I informed that I had an irrigation system installed in April and maybe the installer cut the wire. He immediately agreed and claimed he could see where they cut electrical line. There is no way he could have seen where the installer may have cut the line since the grass was thick/lust near yard light pole. He claimed he could run a new electrical line to the outlet in the garage but it would take more than two hours. I agreed and asked him to just replace the motion light. After sometime he remove the old fixture and replaced it with the new LED version. However, it would not come on. He was sure that it was a breaker, the LED light, he was confused and finally admitted that he never installed a LED motion detection light. He concluded after several attempt to test the light that these new LED do not come on during day light and would come on at dusk for sure. At this point I knew for sure that he was not a electrician, but more of a handyman. A electrician would have installed the light and not left without completing a rather simple job. Jason left without completing one single job at 10:50 exactly one hour after his arrival. Please be aware of Apex Design Build I just gave away $99 bucks for nothing.

Two technicians came to the house. One a licensed master electrician. The other an assistant. They worked quickly to complete the work. No pressure to purchase additional services. Polite and clean.

The outlet isn't built for a light fixture and a fan. This wasn't noted before install.

It went well. David contacted me shortly after I purchased the deal and came out promptly to let me know what he would be able to do. He provided me a quote for the service and a second quote to complete the remaining siding. I went with just the amount covered by the Big Deal, but am hoping to have him return this summer to complete the remaining work. Everything was done very professionally, and in a very reasonable amount of time. I did have to call him back about a cable that had not been reattached, and they were out the next day to take care of it.

Electrician was on time and got straight to work installing fan rough in on second story. Took about 2 hours and I had to make two trips to the hardware store to get the receptacle box and switch mount (separate trips) to replace the existing one in the wall (neither of which I would have known to purchase as the sizes, dimensions, etc. are job specific and I'm not an electrician) but the deal was only for labor so I accept some responsibility. I guess I had assumed that if I needed a particular part they would have charged me for their supply off the truck given that I had specified what work I wanted performed. I have had other electrical labor performed and never had had to make one (let alone two) trips to the store for parts (I was simply charged extra for the supplies). As a non-licensed homeowner I would never have foreseen that I would need a Single Gang Old Work receptacle box . I will say that the technician was professional and polite and quite friendly and that I would use this company again.

David, the owner of Apex Design, was quick to respond to our questions and requests. The end result of the project looks terrific and we have received many compliments. Their work was efficient and thorough. We will definitely hire them for future home renovations.

They arrived and I explained the problem I has having which included a roof leak. Upon further observation they confirmed the leak was not from the roof but it was coming from behind the chimley trim. They came back the next next day with materials that I paid for and made repair. It has been a year now and no leaks!

Not good. My guess is he received too much work for his $99.00 special.

With this being our first remodel, I'm glad to have used Dave. He and his crew work extremely hard and really know their specific trade. Mark and Dave did a fantastic job installing our vanities, custom shelving, framing, painting, demolition and finding additional ways to increase the value of our home. After all the demo, they found roughly two feet of additional room in one of the walls to expand our shower. Nate laid all of our tile and stone work and we couldn't be happier. Some of the work took longer than expected which added additional stress to the renovation to our home. All in all a little added stress is ok because of the beautiful outcome. There were some minor hiccups that occurred along the way (needed more material, pipe jarred loose during install, wall was cracked while carrying custom glass for shower door). Dave came to tend to all of our needs. With Dave and myself being busy, there were some lapses in communication. To reiterate, we managed through and have a wonderful finished product. Thanks again Dave, Mark, and Nate.

ok. But he was 1/2 hour late. He said his boss told him travel time included in charge.

I scheduled an appointment with David to work around our busy work schedule. He was very accommodating and easy to work with. Jason, the electrician, arrived on-time and was very courteous. It did take longer than expected, but that wasn't a big issue. I should have requested a time estimate. I was not here when they completed and my wife was unaware what was to be done. When I arrived home, I found that there was some mis-communication about one of the plugs. David scheduled Jason to come out to complete the project. All is done and great. They were very reasonable and I would hire them again. David and Jason - thank you!!

Very happy overall, communication was good. They were on time, even went above and beyond to help the Comcast guy solve a problem. I would highly recommend them.

Two men arrived on time and immediately got to work. They completed the work per my instructions. They were personable and friendly. My only complaint is that they left behind cigarette butts in my driveway.

Did a very good job, would use again.

The company was courteous enough to call and let me know they would be a little late. When the workers came, they were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They removed and took away the old appliance. They had the new appliance installed in no time. I have used this company before and again I was very pleased with the outcome. I will definitely use them again.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon and the work was very good. I had to pay extra $20 bucks because what I needed was electrical which was fine. The person they sent was outstanding. He bought a partner with him and they initially were not going to be able to do for that because he called me and told me that he needed $20 for the electrical licensing and insurance and I agreed to that. When they showed up there were two and I showed what they had to do and he told me he could do it in an hour and they did it. They were great. Both of them were fantastic. There was a communication issue and that happens. The result I got is what I wanted and it definitely was a reasonable price. You can’t get it for that price and that was quite a blessing. I also found out that they do additional work for $39 or $40 for an hour for handyman work which is quite reasonable in Indianapolis. The fellows who came were extremely knowledgeable, personable and somebody who worked with me and I had a very quality experience on that.

I purchased the deal last Fall. We have had a lot of trouble getting our schedules together. We finally agreed he would come out this Saturday. He then called and changed the date to Friday. He was a no call no show. I contacted him and he said he would not be able to come until Saturday. When I confronted him about it he got upset and said he didn't want to do business with me. I didn't change the date he did.

They did a great job. They were thorough and cleaned up afterwards. We have talked to them about other work because, we were so impressed with them. I will use them again.

I would definitley use Apex again. It was easy to schedule the job, the service was performed in on time and quickly. Basically a no-hassle type of service. I wanted two light fixures replaced and the service was performed without any complaints!

The main problem was with completing the Big Deal purchase. For some reason the Angie's List system wouldn't accept my e-mail as a valid one, so I had to contact them to find out whether i had really purchased the Big Deal and, if so, how to contact the company. Angie's List replied promptly with both a phone number and e-mail for the company. I got an answering machine when I called, so I sent an e-mail. I got a reply the same day offering to do the work the next day. I accepted that time and the electrician showed up promptly at the appointed time and both fixed the main problem -- wiring to the exhaust fan that caused it to stop working -- and also checked out and, I hope, fixed the kitchen light. Bulbs in it sometimes go out, then go on again if you jiggle them -- sort of like there is a loose connection. It now seems to be working ok, but who knows? Other electricians have previously "fixed" the light only to have the problem reappear months later. Anyway, everything seems to be working fine, but after the electrian left, I discovered he had wired the exhaust fan backwords. Now the switch that had always turned on the separate light turns on the fan; the fan switch turns on the light. No big deal, but it will take some getting used to.

It was awesome. Their prices are super competitive. Their communication was top notch.

They did a great job. Great service I would use them again.
