Apex Design Build

It went well. I am very pleased with the overal project but during the process I was somewhat frustrated with the level of communication.

Everything went great-- two employees came and worked through the circuit fix and installing the new lights. They were professional and fast-- definitely got through more than we expected! We would definitely use this provider again.

Jason and his assistant arrived on time, even a little early. They worked diligently, and performed a very good job installing the items I had asked. One of the windows was extremely difficult to install blinds on, and some said it can't be done, because of the window's close proximity to kitchen cabinets. but Jason, who is clearly very skilled, managed to make it happen. They were both polite and professional, and the price very fair. I intend to hire them again for more jobs at my house.

Weather permitting, workers here when they said they would be. Isais (foreman) was exceptionally helpful, even helping me with colors, he made me feel comfortable with the work being done. Dave, the owner, stayed in constant contact with me through the entire construction. Submitting schedules for the coming week, calling me and stopping by. When workers left for the day there was nothing out of place, all trash picked up, or, taken away that day. All workers very polite, no loud music, or noise. Very pleased. I highly recommend Apex Design. They do exactly what we agreed upon doing. The team was very professional and reliable. I strongly suggest Apex for any of your, gutters, painting, siding/soffits/trim, lighting installation, and Security Door replacement. My home looks beautiful, I feel safer, and overall, I just can't say enough good about what a great company this is. I have been through the "contractor" nightmare, we all have if you own a home. But now I have a company I can call back to my home, and feel safe, for any remodeling/repair work that I will need done in the future. I trust Apex to do a perfessional job, great pricing, and an assurance that I get what I paid for. Great work Dave & Isais, and all the workers at Apex, you did a fantastic job!

I wasn?t too pleased as two electricians showed up for one hour. One of the electricians didn?t do too much. They were fine with scheduling and the price was fair for two hours of work but I didn?t feel like I got two hours of work.

They couldn’t work very efficiently due to the weather, but they still did a good job. They were also very nice people and would come and help me pick out colors. I liked working with them and they were on time, weather permitting.

Everything went extremely well. Especially the response time given this property is rental and we were concerned about liability. Their price was fair and the quality of work was great.

The company came out today. Very unprofessional and misleading. I was under the impression that I was getting a licensed electrician but the man was a handyman. He said his name was Michael but his ID said Jason. I felt scammed and they also made me feel threatened in my own home when they raised their voices at me. The owner said he does not make hardly any money on these Big Deals and that I wasn't worth the trouble, that I should ask for a refund. I am upset because my kitchen is a mess, I took the day off work, and I still need the work done. I am very disappointed in this company and think you should take them off the Big Deal section as I feel they are misleading and scamming people. I would like a refund. (I believe this review was left by the Angie's List representative and she got the names wrong for the guy that came out misrepresenting that the was a handyman. This was my review. As you can tell by the Apex response, they still will not address the issue as to why they sell vouchers for licensed professional electrical labor when the person they send out is NOT a licensed electrician. I have hired this company before for $2300 of work last year and the work was done well by the owner Dave but looks like he subcontracts the work out now. Now it appears that the owner has subcontracted his work out to a sketchy character who calls himself both a handyman and electrician. At the appointment time, a beat up black truck drove up to my home and a sketchy looking man appeared on my door wearing a dirty black t-shirt and covered in tattoos. He said he was "Jason" the handyman to do my work and that he had a "helper" in the truck. I told him that I purchased the deal for an licensed electrician to install a couple of outlets and ceiling fans for 2 hours. He looked so sketchy that I asked for to see his electrician's license. He first said that he didn't have it with him and when I pressed, he finally admitted that he was NOT a licensed electrician and showed me his drivers licensed with the name "Michael" on it. I said, "I thought you said your name was "Jason" and he said, uh, Jason is my middle name but Michael is my first name. I just got a bad feeling about this guy and his "helper" in my house and they then left my home. I did not want them in my home and I definitely did not trust them to touch the electrical wiring in my home. Then, I called the owner, Mark and I informed him that he should not be representing that the Big Deal is for hours of licensed electrical work by an electrician when he KNOWS that they guy he subcontracts out to is NOT a licensed electrician just a sketchy looking guy. Be warned-if you buy the Big Deals from this company -Mark the owner does not do this "small" work. He subcontracts it out to really sketchy looking guys with nasty looking tattoos who will tell you they are licensed electricians when they are not. I filed a complaint with Angie's List and they will be contacting the owner to tell him to STOP representing that the Big Deal is performed by a licensed electrician when it is NOT.

I knew there would be a little more to the cost but it was more than I would have liked to have paid.

This took four different appointments due to the business owner's scheduling decisions. Also, the Angie's list ad is misleading, in my opinion, because it quotes a price per hour for labor. This changed to being charged per man-hour when 2 electricians came for the second appointment..

They were very professional and ran over a little. They informed me of the additional costs and I was fine with that as I didn't think my request could have been completed in 2 hours. I would hire them again.

The service call went well. He was actually early. The electrical work was completed and he determined my ceiling fan was fried and that I'd need a new unit. I will be calling him again to install doors and a new fan once it is purchased.

Jason arrived on time, replaced a vanity light in our bathroom. While replacing a receptacle in the kitchen he pointed out scorch marks and melted plastic that indicated we were at risk for a fire. We were still using the outlet up to that very morning, he may have prevented a catastrophe. He saved the day!

Did a fabulous job. Was on time, quick, very pleasant. Would not hesitate to hire again.

I've got a complaint. I talked to Dave about it. Jason, one of his co-workers charged me $212 to stain my deck. The stain he put on the deck was not worth anything. I think that what he did, he has some stain in the garage. He just put it on the deck. The deck looked terrible. It was built right but with the stain, no. Dave did contact me and he told me that Jason would call me. Jason never did call me. I gave up on it. The price was reasonable.

It took longer and ended up costing more than we expected because it was a bigger job than I thought it would be. There were problems with the tray ceiling. It took 6 hours to complete and the end result was exactly what we wanted.

I got the $299 big deal for 8 hours of handyman work. We are moving out of state in a couple of weeks and needed some last minute things done before we go so our house will be ready for the renter. I'll admit that getting to the chimney trim was difficult but it looks almost as bad now as it did with the rotted, holey wood that was up there previously. On the kitchen faucet, it is installed incorrectly. Has a pullout sprayer...when you pull it out, you cant put it back in without opening the cupboard under the sink and pulling the hose from under there. My husband will be fixing it this weekend. The handyman did silicone on one side of our 13 stairs. He used a paper towel and his finger to smooth it out. It looked so bad, I scraped it all off last night and redid it myself. I have never done silicone before but it's really not that difficult and the work I did looks much better than those that he did. In 8 hours, 3 pieces of chimney trim were painted with one coat of paint and put up, kitchen faucet installed incorrectly and stairs siliconed poorly. I scraped and resiliconed both sides of all 13 stairs last night in about 45 minutes. Other things that were on the list to be done we not able to be addressed because of the time it took to do the other things (poorly). One of the other things was to rescreen our patio screen door. I also did that myself this weekend. Took about 30 mins. I would not recommend the company and would never use them again. Even for the discounted price of $299, it still wasn't worth it.

I didn't have all the items they needed to complete the install, but he gave me a detailed list of everything I needed to pick up from Home Depot so I was able to run and grab it all while they began the prep work on the upstairs. I came back just in time for them to begin everything.neverything went fairly smooth.

Everything went well. The company sent someone out quickly after I called, the gentleman arrived on time, and he did a good job with both projects.

1. Installed outlet in unfinished Garage wall next to my Electrical Panel. This took 2 hours to perform. 2. Technician started on the basement right after and proceeded to install 25 outlets. I did have K & D Electrical do the preliminary job. So there were some questions on how or why the did a couple of the switches and outlets, like apparently running hot over the white and not the black. Jason the tech did inform me of this and did wire accordingly. It did take 5.5 hours to do the outlets and that is fine, I am assuming that if there were 2 electricians it would be about $100 an hour. I did appreciate his communication and I did have to run to Lowes, to get a couple things, no problem since I was supplying all the materials. I did notice that on my walk through that he missed a outlet. he did correct that. unfortunately I did miss another outlet that was not done. This was higher up on the wall for a tv placement by the bar. Overall I am satisfied with the work performed by Apex and the electrician. I would also point out that the electrician was 1/2 early and ready to start which is great.

Jason scheduled the work to be done around my schedule. He kept me up to date on his estimated time of arrival. The work was done quickly and well done. I will use Apex in the future.

Initially they were good but now they are not responding to any messages.

The service went well. I paid additional $17 for parts. I did not meet them, the home that they did the work on was a rental property. I was impressed by how quick they responded.

I bought the $99 Angie's list deal for 2 hours of work. Owner contacted me to schedule within the 2-day window. Electrician showed up on time and completed the work without any problems. This was an easy and affordable transaction. Thank you.
