Apex Design Build

I don't think we could have asked for a smoother project. This was the biggest home improvement project we've undertaken since building the house in 1988. Needless to say, we were nervous; however, David Wilson, owner of Apex, put our minds to rest taking time to explain the advantages of the replacement product and each step his crew would take along the way. We began our discussions with David in the Fall of 2017 and Apex was offering some incentives to fill out their work calendar. David's price was very fair (not the cheapest, but by far not the highest). His amiable personality and fair-minded spirit made the decision to go with Apex much easier. Unfortunately, the weather in late 2017 was miserable and David called to suggest that we consider doing the project in the Spring. His concern was that the siding could get completed, but he knew my wife wouldn't want just a primed house sitting all winter before the temperature would be high enough to allow for painting. A credit to David, because he gave us his honest opinion of starting a big job with weather most unpredictable while, at the same time, ensuring us that all of the 2017 incentives he offered would hold for the project, even though delayed. David's crew was simply wonderful. During the demolition phase, they were careful to see that all material made it properly to the waste container and each evening, they would organize their materials in preparation for the next day. They worked quickly and efficiently, touching base with us to share project status and process. The foreman and crew were respectful and we had no concerns, as we left the house periodically, to allow them access to our facilities. I think these simple gestures of consideration go a long way. In the end, the project completed in short order, was installed exactly as promised and there were no change orders. The cost of the project was approximately $30,000 and the amount I paid David was exactly as he proposed. Both my wife and I find ourselves amazed that for our first major project on our home of 29 years, it came off without a hitch and that is certainly credit to David and his entire Apex Design Build team!

We received an estimate for replacing our door frame and also asked him to inspect our dryer vent that was loose. Apex was very easy to work with and flexible on scheduling the job. Our discount called for us to purchase materials for the project per Apex's request. Apex showed up on time and repaired both our door and our dryer vent during their visit. They did a good job and everything looked great when they left.

Dave was excellent to work with and did a great job of keeping the project moving, completing in the time frame promised. His team that worked on my two bathrooms and office came to work on time, were professional, friendly, informative, and very detailed, and performed quality work. This was a complete demo down to the floor joist, moving plumbing and electrical, as well as dry walling, painting, and tile work. He was flexible in the many changes that my wife & I threw at him. And also completed follow up work on items we requested.

They did a very nice job. They worked on replacing our gutter and they were very good at communicating with us. They did the gutter boards as well. Very professional. Reasonable price. Very good experience.

Came out to do the work 2 days after I chose them to do the work. Chad arrived right on time, quickly assessed the damage, and discussed the solution. Part of my railing needed to be replaced as well as a completely rotted out support post. The work was complete in 5 hours and looks like it has always been there. Several neighbors stopped by afterwards and commented on the great job he did. Will definitely hire again!

Perhaps a misunderstanding but it took a while for the second property to get adequately repaired. Everything ended up ok however.

The workmen did a very good job. It looks very nice. They found some hidden damage and did not leave until everything was repaired.

Dave was great to work with and did a great job of keeping the project moving completing in the time frame promised. Everyone that came to work on my bathroom were professional and performed quality work. This was pretty much a complete gut, moving plumbing, drywall, tile, flooring, electrical. I highly recommend them!

Could have been faster, as they were charging by the hour, but, from what I can see from far below, it looks like they did good work.

Apex was the most responsive bid that fit the budget for the project. Work went a little over on timeframe, but this was due in part to unforeseen issues arising from remodeling a project which took an old plaster/lath room down to the studs. Tile took a while, but it was also meticulously done with old walls which weren’t square. The end result was fantastic. It was worth the extra time for the quality work. Overall good experience with consistent communication and no “surprises.” They worked well with me to design the remodel, handle issues and provided quality work. Highly recommended.

it went awesome. their guy was out there on time and wrapped it up in one day. They estimated correctly and did everything they said they would

As they were fixing warping/wood rot I could see, they found that the entire porch needed replaced due to the builder's poor choice of un-pressure treated wood. I agreed for them to do so, they gave me a fair quote and were able to proceed.

It went very well. He came on time. He cut out the bad sill and replaced it with a new sill. He was finished in two hours.

It never did they never showed up or called after setting up intial meeting.

It took a while to get started due to my hectic schedule but once the guys came out. They were able to detect the problem within a couple of hours and it was determined that it was a LOT more serious than we had first anticipated. The guys finished the job in two days and were professional, courteous and expedient.

Bought 4 hours for $178 which is how long it took to finish the job. The contractor on sight was only told about the 2 hours under a single agreement and asked to be paid on-the-spot for the other 2 hrs as he likely gets paid by the job and thus his insistence on payment. Said I would get reimbursed for any overpayment but I said no as I was paid in full. The company needs to communicate better with their employees to avoid placing the customer in an uncomfortable position.

MISUNDERSTANDING ON PREVIOUS REVIEW APEX CALLED BACK IMMEDIATELY AND HAVE BEEN PUNCTUAL THEY ARE COMING OUT TOMORROW FOR ESTIMATE WILL POST ANOTHER REVIEW AFTER WARDS PREVIOUS REVIEW OF F SOME KIND OF GLITCH OR MISTAKE

We are very pleased with the results. We had problems with animals getting into the attic through a space between the gutter boards and the roof. Apex replaced the gutter boards closing up the entry space. They then put up new seamless gutters. This completely solved our problem. They also repaired a fracture in the vinyl siding on our front porch, putting up new siding on the entire porch to ensure that there was no noticeable difference due to aging - looks great. This is the second time I've used Apex. Recommended.

Smooth process from purchase to scheduling to work completion. Additional hours beyond initial agreement were billed appropriately.

Dave contacted us right away when we purchased the "Big Deal" through Angie's List. We kept him informed of what we had purchased, and he was always good to communicate to us what the job schedule would be. We were very impressed with the young man would did the painting and installation of the light and exhaust fan. We had originally bought Snapstone for the tile floor and Dave explained that it was more expensive than ceramic so we returned the Snapstone and went with Dave's suggestion. We are so glad we did. The tile floor turned out beautifully. We would definitely use Apex Design in the future if we have other remodeling jobs. Approximate cost includes the extra we had done in our master bath and the fixtures we purchased ($1250 of the Big Deal price was allowed for bath, flooring, vanity, sink, etc.)

Apex called to tell us they were arriving. Upon arrival they confirmed the work to be done. The carpenter kept me informed of his estimated completion time. He finished right on time. The work area was completely cleaned. All debris including sawdust was swept up and removed from the property. I will use them again on my next job!

The repairs were completed Ina timely manner. Very satisfied with the work.

The owner was very responsive and clearly communicated the materials necessary to complete the work. The only issue with purchasing a "deal" is that you don't know how much time your project will take and so you don't actually know if the hours you purchased will cover the cost. That has nothing to do with an individual company, it's just the challenge that comes when you prepurchase labor without knowing how much time a project will take. The work was done well and we were very satisfied with it. The only issue we had is that after-the- fact we felt like we should've painted the wood before it was put up, but that was never suggested and we didn't think of it on our own until it was too late.

They did a great job at a very fair price.
