+ 0 moreApex has a smooth process for projects. David contacted me through email shortly after my purchase on Angie's List to inquire about project details. He then came out to look it over and put together a material list. I had the option of supplying materials myself or paying a reasonable fee for Apex to supply. I opted to purchase them myself and found the list complete and easily understood. David then contacted me to schedule the work. On the scheduled day, Jason and his partner (sorry, don't remember his name) arrived timely and got right to work. They were efficient and professional throughout. The job took a little longer than the 2 man-hours I originally paid for, but the rate remained the same for the duration. Jason made sure I was aware of the extra time and his estimate for completion. At no time did I feel that there was any intentional delay in the work.
Description of Work: Repair of rotted wood around exterior doors.

He tried to speak over me and on another call he had hung up on me when I was in the middle of talking to him. He has zero customer skills when talking with him.

Description of Work: I retained the offer as I had dry rot located near the front porch and the back porch. An initial trip was conducted and I anticipated receiving an email with the material cost. I received an email to schedule a time for repairs. The contractor arrived and texted that I had dry rot. T & E would be necessary. I did not have an issue with this. My frustration: The poor guy who came to my house left the east side gate open. Per contact with the company owner, he tried to blame my neighbor for leaving open the gate. My neighbor was in the front confirming the contractor was legitimate. My neighbor was never near the gate on the east side of the house. I have two pugs. A female, would not left the yard, whereas the other would have ventured away. A nearby intersection is subject to a high volume of traffic. Forgetting to close the gate could have led to horrible circumstances for my male pug. A risk I prefer to avoid. Thank you.

+ -1 moreService was good and the price was reasonable for the work that was done. However, I thought it was a little high. We took advantage of a Big Deal for four hours of labor. It was clear it was for labor and not materials. I thought the materials was a little high in cost. The travel time back and forth for materials counted toward his labor time. My only complaint was the service charge for the materials. He cleaned up after himself and was professional. We wont use them again because we will not need this type of service again due to moving.
Description of Work: They replaced wood that was damaged and rotting on the side of our house.

+ 1 moreOkay. No complaint; however, had a different contractor replace the back gutter at the same time. APEX price, gutter only, was $277. This was for half the gutter, which included multiple seams, plus there was an additional charge for cleanup. Other contractor replaced the entire back gutter, no seams, for $249, and there was no additional charge for cleanup. I report; you decide.
Description of Work: Wood rot on gutter board. Work resulted in also replacing half of the front gutter.

+ 2 moreThe purchase was made in November 2016 but due to inclement weather and cold temperatures the actual project was postponed until suitable weather. Mr. Wilson monitored weather conditions, kept me informed, and the work was scheduled one of the very first days the temperature and weather permitted. The Apex crew were on-the-dot punctual. The work was done in nearly the exact time duration as estimated and the final bill was comparable with the estimate. Their work was done according to regulation and the work inspected -- something that the previous owners had obviously not done when the project was first completed. It is so nice to know that the roof is solid and up to code. It looks nice to not see the rotted boards, and I really appreciate parking and not getting dripped on!
Description of Work: Work was initial Angie's Club Special Deal for outside wood rot. Apex discovered additional rotted materials on roof due to previous inadequate and not inspected work. They replaced perimeter roof sheathing and carport rafters due to rot.

The carpenter came to look at what we needed done and gave us a complete parts/supplies list so we could shop for the best price on the components for the frame, door, and threshold. On the day of the build, he arrived on time, did a terrific job and didn't go over on time or budget. Cleaned up well after himself too. We'll definitely use them again!

There were a couple of unforeseen things that came up during construction, but that is to be expected with a remodel. David and his team were always there as expected and David was able to respond to any questions or concerns that I had via phone/text/email in a responsive manner. David and his team were also able to accommodate some additional changes that we requested as we went through the process of seeing the bathroom built. The remodel went a bit longer than was originally estimated, but this didn't impact our overall experience with the remodel. We were very happy with how our bathroom turned out.
Description of Work: I purchased an offer to have a bathroom remodeled for $4750.

When the appointment set for the contract to take a look, he didn't show, he want to come to inspect the problem on his own time, and then told me will charge me a delivery fee and plus cost for purchase the material, including nails and etc, also have to clock his worker, and charge me for additional time spend. I'm hiring handyman, not general contractor for this simple job. Experienced handyman should be able to tell whether 4hours can replacing three pieces of deck wood. So when I heard, the job may exceed 4 hours, I declined services!
Description of Work: Evidently, the Company doesn't like the job. It involves too much communication, just for replacing three pieces of rotten wood.
