Called and they were here within a half an hour. He was professional and was confident about the job. This was a dangerous situation and it was taken care of same day.

Down to earth is the best. Tom came to my home and removed a bunch of trees and made the rest of them look like a million bucks. He came very highly recommended from a couple diff sources and his expertise is unmatched -I should have known because he's been around crown point for decades

Tree was so close to the house, we couldn't get a gutter on the house. The crew was very professional and took the tree down to about fifteen feet. We want to do something (maybe a carving) with the rest. They had to avoid our house, detached garage, and wires suspended next to the tree, along with being right next to the road. Not one thing was damaged! They cut up the wood for us and even helped put the wood in the back yard so we could split it easier. They then cleaned up the area they worked in. Very friendly and professional. We will definitely use them again!!

My husband called for an estimate and he came within hours to provide one. He said he could do the work the following day. He did not say at the time that he wasn't going to actually do ALL of the work that day. His team came in the late morning, and my experiences with him were odd. If that had been it, though, I probably would've marked him down a bit for professionalism and would have otherwise been content enough with the service. When he arrived, he rang the door bell several times in a row. When I answered the door, I told him my baby was asleep and if he needed me again, could he please knock. A little while later, he rang the door bell again several times in a row. I asked again that he not do that because now two of my children were napping. He asked if I wanted him to clean up the trees surrounding the driveway for an additional $100. I said yes, and left my door open, hoping he would knock on the screen door versus ringing the door bell. Not very much longer later, he opened the screen door and stood in the entry way with the door wide open. I ran to him so my dog didn't run out, but I that was better than waking up my sleeping children. He gave me my bill, which was $600. This is when he told me he wasn't actually going to grind the stumps out today and we would owe $100 then. He didn't mention that he wasn't going to do it when we made the appointment, nor the first two times he came to the door. I asked him when he was going to do it, and he said within a couple of weeks; he was very busy. He kept talking about what a great job he did and how happy I should be with his work. Again, it was odd, but it didn't end there. When two weeks had passed, my husband called to ask when he was going to finish the job. He returned the call a few days later and said he would get to it very soon; he had been busy. We went on vacation. When we returned 8 days later, the stumps had still not been ground down. My husband called again, and calmly (but frustratedly) asked when he was going to complete this work, as it had now been over three weeks, and could he please give us a date by which it would be finished, otherwise we were going to have to figure something out. He returned the call the next day, yelling at my husband, telling him he wouldn't be threatened or harassed. (I could hear him yelling on the phone, and I was sitting 8 feet away.) He said he gets 14 phone calls a day and he can't do everything, so he wasn't going to finish our yard. Upon calling to get estimates to grind down the stumps, everyone we've spoken to said it would cost more than $100 to grind down the stumps, and that we had actually already paid for more work than was completed. We are currently debating whether it is worth it to pay our attorney to deal with "Down to Earth's" breach of contract, or just eat the difference and discourage the many homeowners we know from using them.

They showed up same day I called to quote me and arrived 4 hours later to do the actual removal work. The work was completed professionally and they cleaned every piece of debris. There was nearly no evidence they were even here. Excellent work and would recommend

The crew showed good judgment . Their work was good and they provided quality service. They were easy to work with and always willing to take the time to discuss any concerns and respond to questions. Their method of working was clean and tidy and they cleaned up at the end of the day. I had several neighbors call me saying what a great job they did.

The tree was cut down quickly and efficiently and the tree was cut up and rolled out of our driveway. All the debris and branches were piled up and the driveway was raked clean. They even cut the stump down to ground level. No unsightly stump left to deal with!

Tom and his crew arrived on time and went straight to work. We had a pretty large job and our yard was a disaster after trees were cut, but by the end of the second day, the yard looked almost as if nobody had been there...they all did a wonderful job of cleanup. We would definitely use them again, as our project went smoothly.

I called Tom for a quote for some tree trimming. He came out while I was gone which was fine. He called me with the quote and it was too high for what I was willing to pay ($600.00). He offered to come down to $300.00 by not cutting down two of the major limbs he had in the first quote. I told him I would think about it. (He was sounding a tad desperate for work.) I called him back about a week or so later and said I'd like for him to do the work. He left me a message on a Sunday evening to text him my address. I did so on Monday. I had not heard from him via telephone or text and called him on Thursday. I told him I needed to know if he was still planning on coming out as the trees were beginning to bud and if the leaves were to start coming in, it would be more expensive by the time I found someone else. He then told me he couldn't talk to me because I was too hostile and that I needed to find someone else to do the work and hung up on me! Too Hostile!!!??? I don't think so. From the start, this man sounded a tad wacky over the phone from our first conversation. He is incredibly rude and loves to cut you off mid sentence. I am however thankful for his temper and rudeness because I found another company who did all the work including the two larger limbs for $300.00. So, thank you Tom for being such a jerk!

They were timely. We called on Thursday night and they came Friday. On Saturday they removed everything and cleaned up the mess. I thought they may have been a little on the pricey side. They cleaned up a lot of the dead wood from four other trees. They even went on my roof with a blower and blew off all of the extra twigs and things. I thought they did a pretty good job of cleaning up. I thought there would be a mess that I would have to clean up after they left, but there wasn't. I was impressed at how detailed they were at getting rid of the mess.

Tom came out to give an estimate on removing a tree from my backyard, it was a good price so I made an appointment. I began to reconsider, however, when I saw the "F" rating he received from the Better Business Bureau due an unresolved complaint. I called him back to get some references and to make sure he was insured and bonded. He said "Oh, of course I am!" but refused to give any details, instead her put the lady who's house he was at on the phone saying, "Tell her I did a good job!". The fact that he would put this lady on the spot like that and his bullying tone to her did not sit well with me. After giving it some more thought I called to cancel, at which point he got mad. He began to scream at me calling me an "old hag" and told met to kiss his ___. I was shocked! I hadn't been rude, I didn't even mention the BBB report because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I simply said that "I had to cancel the appointment" and he just blew up at me. For him to react that way to an 80 year-old woman, or anybody for that matter, is beyond unprofessional, it is simply unacceptable. Due to his shocking behavior and total lack of professionalism I will not be using his services.

THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS CUTTING THE TREE DOWN. THEY DID EXACTLY AS I WANTED AND THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT IT. THEY CLEANED THE YARD AND WE WERE PLEASED. THE CREW WAS CAREFUL AS TO WHERE THE TREE FELL.

THEY ARE NOT A VERY RELIABLE COMPANY. THEY DIDN'T FINISH THE JOB. WE ARE STILL WAITING AFTER FOUR MONTHS. I'M GLAD WE ONLY GAVE THEM HALF OF THEIR MONEY.

THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS THAT I HAD. THEY WERE VERY CAREFUL WHILE THEY WERE WORKING. THEY TOOK CARE OF ALL THE BRANCHES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.
