I got several estimates to repair a collapsing floor and this company was highly recommeded by another construction company. They seemed to be the most knowledgeable of all the construction companies that looked at the problem. Dan, the owner, knew exactly what needed to be done and their estimate was the most reasonable. Their main business is to move houses but they were able to fit in this residential job. The entire crew was courteous, pleasant and handled all problems associated with the job including some minor plumbing problems that were not part of the estimate. They waited until the city came out to shut off the water, fixed the problem, then completed their work. The crew was very careful about not tracking in snow when entering the upstairs part of the house. They called before they arrived at the house, came on time, and completed the job quickly. Best of all, the bill came in under estimate.
Description of Work: Had the floor raised and leveled.

THIS COMPANY CAME TO CHICAGO FROM CROWN POINT, INDIANA TO COMPLETE A FREE ESTIMATE, WHICH CAME IN AT 2/3 THE PRICE OF THE RECOMMENDED COMPANY. THEY WERE COMPLETELY PROFESSIONAL FROM START TO FINISH. INITIALLY, I HAD MUCH ANXIETY ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION AND THE HOUSE BEING OPEN WHEN I WAS NOT THERE, I GREW TO COMPLETELY TRUST THEM AND GAVE THEM A KEY AND FREE REIN TO MY HOME. DESPITE THE FACT THAT THIS WAS A SMALL JOB FOR THIS COMPANY (MOVING HOUSES) THEY TREATED US WITH RESPECT, WERE ACCOMMODATING, AND ALWAYS CLEANED UP. THE FINAL COST WAS ACTUALLY LESS THAN THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE!
Description of Work: DILLABAUGH COMPLETED STRUCTURAL /FOUNDATION REPAIRS TO A 100 YEAR OLD SINGLE FAMILY HOME. THE SILL PLATES WERE CRUSHED AND THE JOISTS ROTTED. THEY LIFTED THE HOUSE ONLY AS MUCH AS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND REPAIRED/REPLACED SILL PLATES AND SISTERED THE ROTTED JOISTS IN THE CRAWL SPACE. THEY INSTALLED VENTS AND PUT DOWN VAPOR BARRIER. THEY CLEANED UP REFUSE FROM PREVIOUS WORKERS AND FROM THEIR WORK AND LEFT THE SPACE IMMACULATE. THIS WAS ALL DONE IN A DIRT FLOOR CRAWL SPACE IN WHICH THE WORKERS COULD NOT STAND UP, IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. WHEN A COMPLICATION AROSE (CEMENT POURED INTO THE SPACE WHERE THE WOOD SILLS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ) THEY HANDLED IT AS A SIMPLE PROBLEM AND DID NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR DRILLING IT OUT. EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW WE WERE SELLING THE HOUSE, THEY WERE CAREFUL TO REPAIR IT THOROUGHLY AND CONSCIENTIOUSLY.
