Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
Overall this experience was horrible! For months i rearranged my work schedule and countless times they either showed up late or didn't show at all. 14 different strangers in and out on my house and garage. I made over a dozen trips to the hardware store, spent $250 of my own money (on top of the $13000) for supplies for the workers because they couldn't get a hold of the contractor when they needed something. Even my calls went unanswered. I even had to buy my own towel bars and toilet paper holder. I was never shown a sample of anything. The only thing i got to pick was the paint color. Vanity's, tubs, mirrors, light fixtures, tile were all bought on day of installation and workers even had to wait for that.
My bathrooms are small and the work was basic. Plumbing in one bath did need to be rerouted but nothing that should have taken more than a couple days. Drywall was torn out and walls were exposed. While walls were down and duct work was exposed, I asked one of the workers if that was the heating vent and he said yes. Since i didn't have a heat vent in the one bath i had him add a vent. Come to find out it was the cold air return.
The last and final guy he brought to the job did do a great job and worked 6 days a week. He however spent a good majority of his time fixing mistakes made by all previous hires.

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
The bathrooms are nice, but there are a few small problems. The electrical boxes were too short for the sinks. The boxes were not moved, but the cover plate was cut to make room for it over the sink. I had Build Smart come in to take nine rooms of electrical and split them up for their own circuit breaker. I used a hair dryer in the bathroom and blew a circuit breaker. Which was connected to five rooms. I was told it would take two weeks. It took three months. The electrician (subcontractor) smoked in my home. The men doing work on my home (subcontractor), broke a gas pipe and left it. I had to call NIPSCO. I would NEVER let Build Smart do even small repairs to my home EVER again.
