Service and repair Hvac systems. Install Hvac systems in commercial and residential applications. Custom sheet metal fabrication.
I got an estimate for a thermal expansion valve replacement. I was told they bill $90 per hour (when I spoke to the office). The repairman stated it was probably a 3 hour job. I got an estimate that stated 3 hours at $90. I saw no problem. The repairman came at about 10:00 to do the job. He finished sometime between 11:30 and 11:50. I thought, "Great, I only have 2 hours to pay for instead of 3." When I received the bill, I was surprised to see the hours billed for the repair as 3 hours. I called and was told that this particular job was an automatic 3 hours billed. No where does the estimate state this fact. If this were the case, the estimate should say quantity of 1 at $270, not quantity of 3 at $90. I politely said that I would pay it and never do business again with such a dishonest company. She said it wasn't dishonest as we had an estimate. I will let you, the reader, be the judge as to whether you want to do business with them. If so, make sure you have all the facts on how they bill your project.

[Member Name Removed] I’m sorry you were unhappy with our services at parakeet rentals. The repair cost was approved by you before any repairs were made. 1 hour was for the initial service call. 3 hours was for on site repairs and locating the part. When we arrived at the location your renter would not answer the door. After waiting for you to drive to the location to unlock the door the renter did awaken and let us in before you arrived. Our tech was on the job waiting to gain access before you arrived and renter came to the door. As I have explained we purchased the part from a hvac wholesaler with an approximate 40 minute drive each way from our location. With finding 4 bad online reviews and your call to our office I know you are very dissatisfied however If there is anything I can do to make you happy with our services please let me know and I’ll do my best to do so.

Installation went smooth. Tech's were all very professional and showed up on time. The system works properly with no issues. The parts and labor came in exactly on the quoted price with no surprises. Heating and air install was the smoothest part of the entire process.
Description of Work: Installed brand new heating and cooling system in new construction home. Included all hardware and new ductwork.

They were suppose to come out and fix my AC unit or at least tell me what the problem was so I can make a decision on what to do. He changed the thermostat which he told me was $50, then turned out to be $60. Also he said he was going to charge me for an hour then that turned out to be an hour and an half. He never checked my filters which were caked on with dog hair from the previous owners. So I paid him he lefts no cold air so I called another company and they fixed it. Thanks Cobb ANOTHER UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!! KEEP IT UP THE LIST IS GETTING LONGER.

If you were confused with the price of the labor or the thermostat that could have been addressed before you paid the bill. We strive to do the best job possible and to keep our customers satisfied. We will return your $169.00 in the mail today.

We began experiencing problems with our Goodman heating and cooling system earlier this summer. Unfortunately, the problems were numerous. After two attempts at fixing the problems, we decided to replace the entire system. Cobb Heating & Cooling provided both the best price and best warranty of the three vendors who submitted replacement estimates. Additionally, Cobb deducted the price of the second service call from its already low estimate. Cobb installed a new Lennox system consisting of a XP16 heat pump, CBX32MV air handler and iComfort WiFi thermostat that has been problem-free since installation. The only problem during installation was that Troy (Cobb) was initially unable to determine if the two-stage heat pump was properly transitioning between stages. It turned out that the transition was so quiet that it could not be determined audibly. April (Cobb) was incredibly helpful in answering questions about the system, getting the new system ordered and handling all of the rebates for us. We could not be more pleased. We received a good system at a good price plus excellent service. You can?t beat that. We highly recommend you consider Cobb Heating & Cooling the next time you need a HVAC contractor.

Another HVAC service company was called to confirm the compressor failure, which they did. This company however found that Bryant had RECALLED this compressor and was offering free replacement (parts only). This Company only charged $500 in labor to install the compressor and auxiliary parts provided by Bryant. Note that Cobb never mentioned this compressor recall and were going to charge nearly $2000 to replace the compressor!! Needless to say, Cobb will never be used by me again after their blatant display of incompetence and/or dishonesty.
Description of Work: Reported non functioning of A/C. The failure of this Bryant system to perform had been a consistent theme, which Cobb had usually just band-aided. The heat pump had never functioned well, and the gas furnace would be necessary when the ambient temperature was less than 45 deg F. Finally the unit was diagnosed with a failed compressor. The quoted cost to replace the compressor was nearly $2000, and the cost to replace this 8 year old Bryant Evolution (top of the line) system was $4500-$6000.

This heat pump was installed for the previous home owner on 5/4/06. We purchased an extended parts warranty for 10 years. With the sale of this system we gave a 1 year labor warranty. Our records do not show that the cost servicing this system for the last 5 years was very costly. I do agree it has had compressor problems. This is the records starting in 2010. 1/20/10 clean and check on two systems. $127.23 6/04/10 compressor had shorted to ground and was replaced at no charge for labor or 14 lbs. of refrigerant. compressor was covered in warranty. n/c 8/20/10 compressor had again failed, We had found that the main board had caused failure both were replaced. no charge for labor or 14 lbs. of refrigerant. board and compressor was in warranty. n/c I did not feel that the compressor should have failed and wanted to keep you as a customer. We were not paid any labor or for 28 lbs. of refrigerant. 12/18/12 checked system and set the balance point to 35 degrees at your choice. Replace humidifier panel. $81.40 Setting the balance point to 35 degrees stops the heat pump from heating when the outdoor temperature drops to 35 4/11/14 Repair the flue pipes on the indoor furnace.$60.00 9/08/14 The call was for the system runs a lot. We checked the operation and found no problems. $70.00 4/06/15 cooling was not working on your heat pump. We replaced the capacitor for the compressor and fan motor. Checking operation a leak was found and repaired on the indoor coil.$114.94 4/07/15 We were called and that it had stopped cooling. We serviced it the same day and found your compressor had failed. The only other charge we have was on 5/29/12 This was for your other system on the second floor. I was never aware in the five years you were not satisfied with our service. We gave you an estimate last year to replace the older second floor system and was not awarded the job. When we were there with this last compressor problem we were told that the installer that replaced your 2nd floor system didn't know how to work on the system we installed. This did not sound to me that your were not satisfied with our services. Heat pump warranty form # 39004DP427 ( this can be viewed at [hyperlink removed]>39004DP427) states this warranty is to the original purchasing owner and is transferrable only to the extent as stated. Compressor subsequent owner 10** (or 5) ** If properly transferred within 90 days otherwise 5 years. There is a program that the manufacturer has offered for 2 stage compressors that fail. I do not have any information of any parts with a recall. dealer service bulletin # DSB11-0025 (this can be found by searching media.mingledorffs.com>dsb110025 ) This states: A program has been developed to replace Bristol 2 stage compressors or complete outdoor units upon an in-warranty compressor failure. This applies to any units that fail on or after 9/12/11 while in warranty. This program can only be used one time per customer. Customer has 3 options. 1st option compressor replacement manufacturer pays $450.00 in addition to the compressor and parts to replace it. This is a no cost option to the end customer*. * up to .5 hr travel time and .5 hr diagnostic may be billed by the dealer to the customer at the dealers prevailing labor rate. 2nd option complete unit replacement 3rd option credit towards complete new system 2nd and 3rd options have other fees and conditions.A customer signature is required on the Bristol compressor program audit form to ensure that the customer was presented all options under the terms of this bulletin. Claims missing the customer signature will be rejected. When a dealer claims a warranty part or uses the compressor program we first must purchase the part, repair system with the new part, enter all information needed by the wholesaler and manufacturer, return faulty part to the wholesaler if requested. The wholesaler service manager will approve or deny our claim. If approved our account will be credited. When I checked the model and serial number on the manufactures site I found that it was registered to the original purchaser.( you confirmed that it was not transferred). I then made contact with the wholesalers service manager. I explained that I was unsure if this will be covered in warranty or if this compressor program was available. I gave him the model and serial number of your heat pump. He did find that we had purchased the extended parts warranty however the warranty was not transferred and no longer had any warranty or program available. 6/3/15 I made contact with you to explain why I could not warranty your compressor and that I was denied by the wholesaler. All documents was explained and that you originally confirmed with me warranty was not transferred. This was the reason you were not informed of the compressor program. I informed you that the charge on 4/6/15 for replacing the capacitor would be returned and was the next day. I offered to personally go to your home at no charge and try to find why the heat your heat pump was producing in cold weather was not to your satisfaction. I explained that I did not feel replacing your compressor would have any effect on the amount of heat produced in cold weather. I asked if I could send copies of the documents and the messages from wholesaler denying your warranty. You agreed and they were sent within the hour. I kept you informed as I tried to get someone with the wholesaler involved. Eventually I had to call corporate so that all involved could have a conference call. the only thing I could get was for them to send you a letter confirming that they did deny your warranty to me. I sent you a copy of the letter they were sending to you on 6/10/15. The letter was addressed the same date. without any communication I can not do anything else Troy

They fixed it. The original problem was an odor coming from AC. They put bleach in the drip pan and showed me how to do it. They think a dead mouse was in the unit. The smell is gone now and I am happy. It was a good experience.
