Chimney Sweep & Heat

I filed the complaint because I am very dissatisfied with the work done at 1224 Central Ave N Connersville IN. I have already paid him $5250.50. [A] After I checked his bill and his math is wrong he over charged me for the gas fire place he wrote down it would be $841.00 for the 40,000 BYU?S N-G 18? GUFL18 on the invoice # 625372. He listed the cost at and he charged me $948.82 on invoice #625373 and his math is wrong overcharging $243.62. [B] He was also to install a gas line to the 2nd fire place to light the wood. He charged $900.00 for gas lines and only installed 10 feet of flex pipe that is $90 a linear ft. and did not even install a new shutoff valve in the basement. Average cost to install a gas line according to cost helper is $19 a linear ft. for a new line. He over charged by $710. [C] He removed and lost a peace of antique tile from the hearth he was to restore where he put in the gas fire place. This missing tile was 123 years old and can?t be replace so now the hearth needs to be re done with antique tile to match this is almost imposable to find and very expensive estimated cost $500.00 plus time to find it. [D] He left a large hole in the wall inside the closet where he drilled throw to install the gas line and did not seal around the pipe he put throw the floor you can feel the air coming throw the floor est. to repair $100. [F] He cleaned his grout bucket in the kitchen sink, living it in the sink and grout went in to the drain and I had to plunge and use drain cleaner and a plunger to unclog the drain. [G] He did not deduct the cost on the inspection and cleaning of the chimney from the cost of repairs as agreed if he got the job as he said he could not give an estimate without the inspection that was a $220.99 over charge. [H] he lift a mess dirt peace?s of the old fire box and old damped on the floor in the bed room I had to clean up after him every night in the house. He also left paper he burnt in the fire place, a muddy mess outside and he left the degree from the tear out set where we had to climb over it for 4 days then did not completely clean it up. I have photos of all damage and the mess he left I will be glade to provide as proof. [I] He did not get a permit to do the work or have it inspected. According to Bill McDaniel Fayette County Aria Planning this is required as are Inspections during and after the work and I now must hire someone to do this. Over all he did not do the job he promised. I will end up spending more than $1.775.oo to fix and finish the work I paid him to do. He Over charged at least $1174.62 and did another $600 in damages plus clogged my kitchen drain with grout and left a mess for me to cleanup. I believe he took advantage of us because we are both over 70de years old.
