Went great. Troy made arrangments with the current homeowner and when we arrived was ready with inspection report. He documented any problem areas identified. The report was enhanced by many photos indicating what minor repairs need to be done. Great experience would gladly work with him again.

The inspection appeared to go fine and we were happy until after we moved in. We started noticing popping sounds in the attic and found out that rafters were breaking and the roof structure was failing. We also had a window break under a header that was sagging that we were told was fine during the inspection. I contacted Troy Knorr and he denied that he was responsible for any of the damage because he felt he missed nothing. Next I contacted my home owner insurance company; they sent a forensics inspector out and determined that the damage occurred prior to closing so they denied the claim. Their advice was to see an attorney. Before seeing an attorney, I obtained a quote from a builder to repair the home and it came back at 34,100.00. I had another builder look at it and he confirmed that this price was realistic but turned down the job because it was larger than he expected. I took this information to an attorney and had a demand letter sent to Mr. Knorr, who again denied responsibility. Due to the cost of legal assistance, I postponed further legal action and decided to do some of my own research. I discovered that Mr. Knorr has a criminal background with his previous career. Upon this, I contacted the state police, who confirmed this information to be true and have strongly advised me to file a complaint with the attorney general. I am now facing a huge financial burden and can only hope that the attorney general can help. Another complaint I have with this inspector is that he claims to adhere to ASHI standards but is not a member. Do yourself a favor and make sure you research an inspector before using them and make sure they are certified with any associations they claim to adhere to.

Troy showed up early to the inspection and did an extremely thorough job. The house we are purchasing is 35+ years old and we plan to do a complete remodel. The people selling the house had done some demo and we were concerned that they might have damaged the stability of the house. Troy listened to all of our concerns and got into several tight spaces to check joist for movement and stability in both the basement and the attic. Troy found a major electrical problem and alerted us to the danger immediately. There would have been no way for either my husband or myself to know that, that particular electrical panel had been subject to several lawsuits and fire hazards. Troy also found a few masonry problems and explained the options surrounding those repairs. A copy of the inspection was sent via email within an hour. Overall Troy did a very good home inspection and I would highly recommend him to anyone purchasing a home.

Troy went through every nook and cranny of the house to come up with a detailed report. Troy also does a great job of communicating the difference between incidental findings vs. problematic issues. Troy is knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and will not disappoint. Due to the outstanding service that Troy Knorr (Premier Home Inspection) has provided I feel compelled to update my review. As stated above my wife and I purchased a home about a year ago that was inspected by Troy. Our prior home had been demolished after being involved in a criminal gas explosion in Indianapolis. After seeing that type of destruction and seeing first hand the type of cosmetic and structural damage that can be present in a home it was important to have a thorough and trustworthy inspector. Troy exceeded our expectations at the inspection but his service since has been what sets him apart. Troy has an immense fund of knowledge regarding all things with your house. Since the inspection Troy has answered countless calls and texts in regards to our home and has referred us on to other trustworthy contractors. For example we decided to finish our basement and Troy explained all the options in regards to backup sump pump and explained the difference between battery backup vs. jet pump(which I didn't know existed at the time). Another example, the first large snow after we had purchased our house I heard a truck in the driveway and it was Troy scraping off the front drive with his snow plow because he was "in the neighborhood." Troy came out at a moment's notice to evaluate some issues I discovered in my new home. He was professional, reasonable, and provided exceptional service. I highly recommend without reservation.

The price I noted is for the inspection itself. I also spent $125 for a radon test, but as I know that's not always required, I didn't want to include it above and make his services appear more expensive than they really are. From what I've been told, his pricing is perfectly in line with what is customary in the area. Troy spent about two hours or a bit more at the house, which is just right for the size of the place. I mention this because I think it's important to point out that even though he was very busy today AND worked me into his schedule so quickly, he still gave the inspection the time it needed to be done right. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This kind of thing always makes me nervous, and Troy's responsiveness and professionalism really put me at ease. I would definitely use his services again, and I will recommend his company every chance I get.
