Called in the morning, and got a recording where I explained my problem. I mentioned there that I had taken the cover off the machine, and found nothing amiss that I could see. He called back within the hour, and apologized because he was overbooked and couldn't get back to me for 2 to 3 days. One tech was off work for a while, and the other had gotten behind. Since I had taken the cover off, he asked a few questions to see if I was "handy" enough to handle a fairly straightforward repair, which I think I am. He diagnosed the problem, correctly, and told me where to find the part. Apparently a common problem with my make and model. Got the part and had it running the next day. He asked for nothing, but I sent him a small check anyway.
Description of Work: Clothes Washer Broken. His schedule was full and couldn't get to me quickly, so he explained how to do it myself, and where to get the part.

He is nice and clean. He showed me the old parts. He explained everything to me about the parts. He did a great job and was a good guy. He was very professional.
Description of Work: They replaced a coupling in the washing machine. They had to tear out the old one between the dry motor and the tub. They cleaned up everything. They serviced the dryer for no charge.

I called Appliance Man and had someone out to diagnose the problem the next day - and he was here when he told me he'd be here. He quickly diagnosed the problem and tracked down replacement part availability, then quoted me a price for the entire repair. He came back the next day with the part in his possession and quickly and efficiently replaced the fan. I watched him work and he was pleasant, informative, and economical in movement. When finished with the actual repair, he suggested that I clean off the gasket to help it last longer, then applied silicon to it to help it stay flexible. There was one price for the two trips and the part, and it ended up costing about $10 less than the original quote because he was able to get the part for a bit less and passed that savings on to me. I would absolutely use this company again.
Description of Work: The circulation fan in my 14 year old, 16 cu ft upright freezer had stopped working. The fan was replaced.

I'd removed some screws I shouldn't have from the back of the dryer when replacing the electric cord. (I'd just moved and the new apt had a different electric outlet from my dryer cord.) He actually called later that same day offering to come then but I couldn't leave work just then. He came out the next day. Pulled my dryer apart. Put it back together. It's worked perfectly ever since. The price was very reasonable. He was professional and friendly - and didn't even tease me for messing it up myself!

Called Appliance Man on a Saturday morning and he showed up early afternoon same day. Used some plastic sleeves that he put under the refrigerator wheels to keep from scarring the floor as he wheeled it out of the cabinet enclosure. He checked a compressor relay that he said is the usual problem in our brand refrigerator. Not the problem here. Unloaded fridge and he then quickly diagnosed and fixed fan. I was so pleased I helped him load the fridge back up. He cleaned up the area and rolled fridge back into place as I wrote him a check. He was there for about 30-45 minutes and I believe charged only for a service call.
Description of Work: Refrigerator compartment was warm. Freezer was OK. He diagnosed fan that circulates cold air from freezer into refrigerator compartment as the problem. Took it out of the wall separating two compartments and said he felt something solid drop. He did not see what dropped, but thought it might have been ice blocking the fan or sensor. Put it back together and it immediately began to cool down the refrigerator compartment. Still working fine 2 weeks later.

Appliance Man was terrific. They came the same day, calling 30 minutes in advance so we could meet them. Kevin (I think) was extremely efficient and had the parts on hand. He was finished fixing both appliances, which now seem to run perfectly, in 45 minutes. We will definitely use Appliance Man again.

Kevin gave me an ETA and called beforehand. He was very quick with his work and didn't try to over complicate things. He really wanted me to understand the equipment, too. I hired him back a few weeks later when our dishwasher stopped running. He was very consistent; showed up on time with a call beforehand, was friendly, and fixed our appliance in about ten minutes.

My 1970's GE fridge, freezer on the bottom (which I love), started having problems. The fridge worked great, but the freezer would not keep anything frozen. I was sure I would finally have to put it out to pasture and spend way too much money to replace it. I found the appliance man on Angie's List and gave him a call. He came out when he said he would (same day!) and quickly discovered the problem. He did not have the part on hand, but got it the next day and installed it in about 15 minutes. Kevin was fantastic and my freezer works like a dream. He even gave me tips on how to remedy the drain pan problem I was having. I would advise anyone to call upon the appliance man when in need of repair. :)
Description of Work: Assayed the problem quickly and replaced the fan in the freezer.

Kevin was prompt on his service call, he called ahead as promised and followed up as promised. He is friendly, knowledgeable and reliable with fair prices. We will use him again
Description of Work: Our dishwasher was not going through its cycles. Kevin found that the machine was only getting 24 volts. He strongly recommended we have an electrician check our wiring. We did and found a serious and dangerous short at the meter. Kevin later called to inform us that a control panel was available if we needed it for this 10 year old machine. The electrical work solved the problem

I called Kevin on Oaks, of all days, and expected him to laugh at me (you want me to come today???) or charge me a fortune because it was Oaks. He came the same day, diagnosed the problem and even offered to only charge us the service call so we could fix it ourselves. I said thanks, but no thanks. He had the part and made the repair.

Kevin was very professional and honest. Our microwave door would not latch, so I called Kevin and asked if it was worth fixing. As the microwave was 7 years old he advised against fixing. I bought a new oven, called Kevin, he came out the next day and put it in--he had offered a better price on installation than where I bought it. The charge was the same as he quoted even though he had to make some adjustments. Very, very satisfied!

I can't say enough good things about this company. They estimated the cost of repair prior to coming to my home and worked diligently to keep the cost as low as possible. Other companies estimates were in excess of $140 because they insisted the entire mechanism had to be replaced. Appliance Man took the time and trouble to separate the needed piece and charge us only for the handle.

Rick appeared and saved the day. Even though my washer and dryer set is 12 years old, they were still running strong, until I heard a loud pop and saw sparks and flashes coming from behind my dryer one afternoon. Upon opening the door, the light was "burned" out and I quickly learned it didn't heat as hot and the timer stopped working!!! Visions of a major purchase ran through my head for a week, before I found Appliance Man on Angie's List. Rick was prompt in returning my call, prompt appearing at my home and got right to work; he was all business. He completed the job on the spot within 1/2 hour! He was gone before I knew it and I had warm, soft clothes again!
Description of Work: Wires in my dryer had shorted out and caused minor damage to the electrical wiring. My electrical wiring days are over. Even though I usually worked as an assistant holding the fan while my husband did the "dirty" work. I'm not certain what Rick did to the dryer, but when I returned to the laundry room, my dryer was put back together and in place with his area cleaned perfectly.

FANTASTIC!! Kevin came out with one day's notice. He replaced my heating element, I already had the part. I asked about my chopper unit and thought I needed it replaced. Kevin left without taking any payment to get the part. The next Saturday he returned, disassembled the chopper, and removed a coin my two year old had placed in my dishwasher causing a noise. Kevin said I did not need the chopper unit so he did not want to install it. Kevin did not charge me for the part or the additional service run. YOU CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS GUY. He is prompt, fair, and honest. What else can you say? Oh yeah this guy doesn't advertise, he's only through word of mouth. If the above does not sell you on this guy, the word of mouth advertising speaks for itself.

Very satisfied. Responded very promptly to both calls, seemed very knowledgeable and concerned that all warranty coverage be considered first.

Kevin was very prompt, courteous, and fair. Even though he visited a total of 3 times (in between parts arriving), he only charged us once for a service call. He took time to explain things and make suggestions. I was originally referred to Kevin by a friend who had used him. I was very satisfied with his work and professionalism, and would 100% recommend him to anybody else needing appliance repair.
Description of Work: Our ice maker stopped working, and Kevin came out and diagnosed that a new valve was needed. He ordered the parts and came back a few days later to install it. He also noticed that the plate/sticker that goes over our ice/water/crushed ice buttons was ripped and offered to order that part for us too.

Kevin was able to come the same day I called. He brought a part so I could use my original drainer hose, checked out the washer for other problems, reinstalled and reconfigured my dryer vent, and reversed the door on my dryer. (He told me the megamart home improvement warehouse that sold me the new hose neglected to mention I needed an alligator clamp to hold it on) He even gave me a lint trap for the drainer hose, all for the cost of a single service call. He was mindful of my cats and was very prompt.
Description of Work: We moved into our house and tried to hook up our washer ourselves. We had lost part of the drainer hose and couldn't find the right part. We went to several stores and after having no success finding the missing elbow for the hose, bought a new hose. After several attempts to attach the new hose, and ending up having water all over our basement, we gave up and called in the repair people.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE INTEGRITY OF THE COMPANY. SOMETHING ELSE ENDED UP BEING WRONG FROM WHAT THEY DIAGNOSED, WHICH WAS AN ADDITIONAL FEE, BUT THEY WERE WILLING TO REFUND PARTS AND LABOR, FOR THEIR MISDIAGNOSIS. THAT WAS SOMETHING COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED AND IT SHOWS A LOT FOR THEIR CHARACTER.
