The Appliance Man

Based on the reviews for The Appliance Man on Angie's List, we called them after office hours on Monday, April 29. Their scheduler called back before 9 am on Tuesday; took our info and said Andre would call us to set up an appointment. He called shortly thereafter for model and serial number info and agreed that our suspicion about what was wrong was probably correct. He said he'd check on parts and then get back to us with a time. Parts were available so he set the appointment for around 3:00 and would call us when enroute which he did. He and Forrest, who he's training, arrived promptly. They pulled the machine out to confirm the problem and then went over the required fix and costs with us before beginning the work. The problem was a sticking solenoid so they put in a new water valve unit and replaced the rubber hoses with metal ones. We were very pleased with their work .... efficient and professional, not to mention they were two very personable guys. They brought their own shop vac and cleaned up the dust under the machine and wiped up the floor. A nice touch that my husband and I really appreciated since it's a one piece washer dryer unit that is too heavy for us to pull out from the wall. Checked the machine this morning and it's dry inside so looks like they solved the problem. However, Andre said if we should have a problem in the next 30 days, to call and he'll come back for free. Definitely would use them again and recommend them highly. In the interest of full disclosure, our bill should have been $55 higher since it's really a two-man job with a machine like ours. However, since it was Forrest's first day, Andre only charged for one technician. It was refreshing to deal with such honesty!

Overall, I was extremely impressed and will definitely call them again if the need arises!!

Anton or Andrey (I don't remember his name) came at the time he said he would. He examined the washer, which was very very old, and determined that the timer was broken and that this 'timer' part was no longer made. This meant the washer could not be repaired.

After my call to the Appliance Man, it took one day to have my call returned and a time scheduled for an estimate. The serviceman, Andre, was very prompt, courteous and professional. He quickly examined the dryer and proposed the repair and its cost. He had the required part in his van and was able to fix the dryer in a short time period. In looking at the dishwasher, he identified the part number and found that it was in stock at a local parts provider. He let me know his schedule and we arranged another time the next day to have him return with the part and install it, although he told me that he would also call me back later that same day just to see if he could squeeze the job in before the following day. Although he couldn't return on the same day, he did call as promised and we reconfirmed for the following day. When he came back to install the part, he also noticed that the problem for the door may have been that our dishwasher was loose in the cabinetry, so he added an extra screw to the frame to keep the unit stable. I would happily recommend this company to anyone. My experience with them was the best in recent memory with any type of repairman service. Timely, courteous, efficient and reasonably priced.

Wonderful, very prompt service. The Technician arrived on Friday afternoon and fixed our broken dryer very quickly, he had all parts needed. He even vacuumed out the lint inside the dryer! Definitely would use this company the next time we have a broken appliance of any sort.

Made appt via text. Prompt response during business hours. Tech contacted when they said, texted when he was on his way and arrived during the time frame given. Problem was very minor but was determined and remedied quickly. Everyone was courteous and professional.

I have a Kenmore HE3 front loading washer that had stopped working 3 years previously. I wanted to know if it was worth fixing or it should be replaced. I had already called Sears repair and they wanted to sell me a warranty plan for $319. Andre, from the Appliance Man came and diagnosed the problem as the motor control board. I checked at the Sears parts website and they wanted $318 just for the part. Andre ordered the part and came back and replaced it and cleaned my dryer for $297. Andre was prompt, professional and friendly. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs appliances repaired.

Went fine, technician finished pretty quickly. Only concern I had was the cost of the job, most notably the cost for the part for the Maytag washer , which was over 161.00 wasnt expecting it to be that high. Overall though technician performed a quick and precise job. UPDATE: Didnt know about Maytag being bought by Whirlpool, nevertheless , WAS told about the timer part. Pretty much had to get it fixed. With the recommendation of scrapping it and buying a newer unit, how much would a newer unit be ? Ive seen some of the prices of ones at Sears, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. and thery're not exactly cheap, just saying. Unless I go to a specialized/used appliance store and find a refurbished one or one that the cosmetics might be damaged, and its discounted, you just never know. Anyway, I just thought the part was high to get. Afterwards I checked around on the part that got replaced and it WAS in that price range, :(. I didnt mind the job itself, Andre seems to be a great tech and seems to know his stuff. Would definately use again!

We called for an appointment and they were there on time. They gave us an estimate and it was spot on for the ending price. Kevin ordered the part so they were able to complete the job faster. They also fixed the icemaker while they were there since they had the part in their truck. Kevin and his son was very professional and I would recommend their services to everyone!

Ditto of all of the other rave reviews this company has received. The reviews are well-deserved. Andre was great! He used a different brand of belt on my dryer that was slightly longer and $15 cheaper because he didn't have one to fit mine on his truck. He explained that he has done that with other dryers with much success. So we went for it. He explained that he would come back and put the "right" one on if this one causes us any trouble. He also recommended replacing the washer rather than fixing it as the repair cost would be too great. He gave me several recommendations for brands that he likes. He was here and gone again quickly, very professional and friendly. Will definitely call again. Appreciated the coupon on Angie's List for first-time customers.

Great experience, Kevin pretty much knew walking in the door what the problem was - quoted cost to fix problem, even called a local store to price replacing fridge/freezer to help me decide.

Overall it was a great experience. Would definitely use them again.

I called and spoke with Kevin on Tuesday evening. He said that someone would be here either Wednesday or Thursday but that they would call first. The next morning Andre called and said that he could be here between 11:00 and 1:00 but that he would call when he was 15 minutes away. He called and was here within 15 minutes. He looked at the situation and gave me a quote on a new ice maker, but took mine out and looked at it. It appeared to be frozen, he thawed it out, put it back and told me to give it a day to make ice. He said if I didn't have ice by tomorrow to call him and he would put in a new one. He only charged me for the visit. He was very professional. I would highly recommend them to anyone

I joined Angie's List to get the name of a reliable repair person for the dryer in a rental house. The company I chose was very professional and prompt. They did a good job and fixed what the previous repair person from another company had not fixed but charged me for. I will definitely use them again. Thanks for your help in advising consumers who to use and who not to use.

I called The Appliance Man because of such great reviews on Angie's List. I called and talked to Kevin about problems we were having with our washing machine. Andre arrived within an hour of my original phone call. Embarrassing as it is, all that was wrong with our washer was a hose that had come undone. I don't know how we didn't notice this. Andre quickly reattached the hose and was on his way. Even though I wasn't able to find the coupon Kevin suggested on Angie's List, Andre gave me the discount anyway. I would definitely use this company again. They were cheap, very quick, and fixed our problem!

It was a wonderful experience. This was the first time I had ever called them. It was exceptional that he was willing to provide the name of someone else that could help me out and not charge me.

Andre and Cody came within an hour of contacting them, was very friendly and professional. The service run fee was $60 and the labor was $30 (I had my own part, which they used). They even peeked at another problem with my freezer, gave me a price. (More than I wanted to pay - it was to replace the ice maker, it was cheaper than another place that looked at it.) I will definitely use these people again.

My washing machine was broken. The Appliance Man worked with my schedule, showed up on time, and fixed the washing machine in minutes. I couldn't believe it! And it was affordable too. I'd recommend these guys to anyone and I will use them again!

Our microwave went out on MLK Day. I found The Appliance Man on Craig's List. The owner and his son (who was in training) showed the same day. They diagnosed and fixed the problem (burnt out switch) immediately. While they were there I told them our refrigerator ice maker was also not working. They had a replacement ice maker in stock and rebuilt it to fit, which saved us about $100. I thought the price was very fair, and they readily gave the Craig's List discount. I highly recommend The Appliance Man.

It took two tries to get our washer fixed but everyone involved at The Appliance Man was very helpful and very nice. We felt they were honest and the amount that we were charged was very fair. If you have a front load washer and dryer Andre is your man for the repairs.
