Prater & Sons came out to give a quote on all areas. I actually called the morning they were coming to see if they could also power wash our driveway, in which they did. When I got home that day it was unbelievable on the difference in the front, it looked GREAT! Unfortunately the concrete overlay in the back around the pool deck didn't cooperate. However they called me immediately and explained the issue and concern and stopped and went to the front. When they came back the next day to finish it they even showed my husband what they saw in the back and he agreed to not proceed. While I'm disappointed on the outcome for the pool deck I'm thankful they called and stopped vs just doing what the work order said and potentially leaving us with a huge mess and issue. The front looks AMAZING! I didn't realize what a difference it would make.

Prater did a poor grading job and now all rain that hits on the right side of the neighbors driveway runs off into our yard and settles by your back door. We ended up spending a couple thousand dollars to do a new concrete patio to try to grade their issue away from our house, but the drainage is still a bit of an issue as we now need drains installed in our side yard to divert the water that this job created. Mr. Prater told us to dig a drain even though his company created this mess.

I understand that we don't get massive amounts of rain all the time (3" or whatever). Although we have several times over the last year it seems. During the storm yesterday, the water was pouring off the neighbors new driveway and running down into our yard like a river. We called Prater and he did respond pretty quickly and came out this morning but to no resolution. He said they put a drain on one side of the driveway but ALL the water that hits the other side runs right down into our backyard and gathers at a flat landing next to our basement. So, Mr Prater suggested to my husband that we needed to dig a gutter right along the driveway (which won't fix the issue and will make a nice mud pit). Yes, my husband spoke to the neighbor as well who agreed this won't fix the issue either. This is NOT a resolution and it doesn't matter whether it's an inch or 3 inches, why would you use the excuse, Mr. Prater, that "we've always done it this way". If you are going to put a drain in a driveway wouldn't you design the driveway so that the drain works? I don't feel like it's our responsibility to fix poor workmanship. It makes absolutely no sense to me that Mr. Prater is telling my husband to fix it. When you work on projects, it is a project for ONE Homeowner and should NEVER create an undue expense for another which this has and is again. This is definitely NOT a reflection on our neighbors at all, as they certainly were not aware of this but Mr. Prater most certainly knew that the driveway was not designed adequately for proper drainage. It works fine for the neighbor who built the driveway but the collateral damage next door is a bit ridiculous. I guess this will have to be handled another way since we did the proper thing by trying to deal with Prater on this and him excusing himself of any responsibility. Please keep in mind when you are hiring a contractor that this one could give a rip about the collateral damage they leave behind. My husband is quite reasonable and he tried talking to Mr. Prater to NO avail. I'm sure we will be seeing Mr. Prater again (pictures/estimates in hand) to discuss remedies to this situation only not in our yard.

Terrible. They completed the project and there was NO difference. My walkways are just as slippery as they were before the treatment. I have tried to call to ask if anything could be done or was it applied improperly or something and although they called me back once and stated that they would get back to me - I have not heard anything since. I am very disappointed. Update: Connie called me and was very apologetic and sorry that I was disappointed. They did refund the money for the anti-slip application. I would use them again, just not the product.
Description of Work: power washed and applied shark grip sealant. Prater and Sons told me that the product would give good slip resistant to the stamped concrete walkways.

Description of Work: Prater and Sons Concrete, Inc, Is a A Plus Company and I would highly recomend them for any concrete job. They came out the next day after we called to give us a estimate. The price was good. They started and completed the job in the time frame that was given to us. They poured a three car garage floor, new patio and new steps and replaced some side walks for me. I plan to use them next year to replace more sidewalks. This is a family business with lots of experience! Job very well done! Karen Vanderfleet Muehlenbein

It was three times as much as an estimate they gave us three years ago, so we did not pursue that.
Description of Work: They gave us an estimate for resealing our concrete driveway.
