They did a great job! Everyone that I contacted with the company during my experience was helpful and polite. They installed a new HVAC (furnace downstairs and a/c outside) and a hot water heater in a 135 year old house which is a challenge, but faced it no problem. When they offered suggestions to make the system run better by adding additional cold air returns, they really worked with me to make sure that I was happy with placement and the finished product.....I mean who wants extra unattractive vents in the floor?? but they really made it look great! They were my lowest bid of 6 others selected from Angie's List/Lowe's and Home Depot and when the work was done it was right on bid not a cent more! I would definitely do business with them again my new systems are running great and the house feels very comfortable now. Thanks guys!!

He is easy to deal with. The owner, Mike Hoff, comes out to do the work. He comes out as soon as I call. His prices are very competitive.

Mike did a great job installing a microwave vent for us. He was punctual and friendly and the project turned out great.

Very warm weather. Home of elderly mother. A/C stopped working the evening before. A quick call to Hoff the following morning received a very prompt response that day. Mike diagnosed the problem immediately, telephoned me with thorough explanation of problem and cost, and took care of the matter in a short time. I have no doubt that Mike remained long enough to ensure that his repair was appropriate, and that no other repairs were necessary. There were no other A/C failures during the remainder of the cooling season. Highly recommended.

I have been using Mike as my Heating and A/C guy for 17 years and he is awesome! He is very personable, professional, knowledgable, and reasonably proced. He has never tried to sell me anything I don't need (like some others I dealt with). I have also used him for emergencies (water heater) and he has been there when I needed him.

Mike installed both of our geothermal furnaces in 2004 when we bought our home and discovered that neither were working properly- problems missed on inspection. He gave us the best pricing on the installation of the 3 companies that bid and has been fair on pricing since that time. He has helped with whatever minor issues have occurred. He sometimes takes a day or 2 to get back to you, but always arrives on time and is very thorough and detailed. Definitely recommend him

Everything was excellent. He was out there right away. There was nothing bad. Everything was great with those guys, great service. He was trustworthy and the price was excellent, better than everyone else. Everything was done right. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

It went quite well. I called them and they were out the very same day. They were very nice and professional.

He was very responsive. He came out during one of the really hot spells. He said he was way backed up, but he would come out on his way to another job. I thought that was pretty nice.

Northsiders -- this is a WONDERFUL company to call for heating & air. Locally owned & operated -- very professional, responsive & a high quality of work. We own a Davis home that was built in 1997 and had never had a problem with the heating/air conditioning until the last week of September 2010. We found Hoff Heating & A/C thru Angie's List, and called them at 8am in the morning. By 10:30, Mike Hoff was at our door & diagnosed the problem. The capacitor had gone bad. He replaced it, cleaned & checked the system, and had everything working in good order when he left. I was very nervous about calling some of the more well known heating & air companies, because of service nightmares I've recently heard from friends. I was also concerned that someone might come out & pressure me to buy an entirely new system, due to the age of our home. None of that happened with this company. My experience with Hoff Heating & A/C was perfect, I highly recommend them.

They took out an oil furnace, put in an LP furnace and an air conditioning coil - they did quite a bit of work for the price. They were very responsive and very upfront. I?ve signed up a service agreement with them and they?re very punctual on it. I went with them because cost was a big thing. I would rate them highly and would recommend them to anybody.

Mike works very methodically to isolate and then prove (to himself and to me) that he has found the failing part or parts. I appreciate his approach and his style to resolving the problem. The result is that a lesser component was replaced for an intermittent problem prior to replacing an expensive fan motor. While this meant that Mike had to return to replace the motor that also turned out to be part of the problem, I appreciate the fact that he made every attempt to keep the repair costs low.

They are very reliable. They are always pleasant to deal with and they are honest. The owner himself comes out. He is always professional, clean, and tidy.

Mark had this fixed in less than 90 minutes from the time I called him. By the way, he came on a weekend.

Air conditioner was not cooling. Called Hoff Htg. & Air and they were able to get there that afternoon. After checking the unit, they found the capacitor was bad and we were low on freon. All was fixed and running well in less than 30 min. The best part is, Mike also took the time to tell me how to monitor the air conditioner since it is getting older so that we could catch issues before they became big and he gave me tips on care of the unit. There is no doubt that we will continue to use this company. They understand, good work and good service.

I would highly recommend this company. The owner, Mike Hoff, was very honest and very professional. He fixed our problem for $254, when another "BIG company" told us that our inside coil had a hole in it and that to fix that would be $2300, but our best bet would be to replace the entire unit. They even had a salesman at my door within a half hour and he wanted to sell me the $11,000.00 heating/AC unit, "which would be the best thing we could do for our house." My husband became suspicious when it didn't look like the service tech had even taken off the front of the A/C unit where the coil was located. And this was a company that had been servicing our heating and A/C unit for the last 4 yrs. Anyway, he suggested I call Hoff A/C, whom he had found on Angie's List website. Mike Hoff took the time to show me everything he was doing and where the problem was. I will call him from now on for any heating or A/C problems we have.

The owner even came out once on a Sunday night when something happened to my heater. He goes above and beyond the call of duty! He's even helped me with a problem I had with a water heater that wasn't even something that he deals with. They are very friendly and professional. I will continue to use them and would defiantly recommend them!

I started noticing that it was costing more to operate after the other company came out to do a 6 month clean/service on the unit. In the spring, the unit was not cooling the house. I called the other company, and the same guy came out. He explained to me that a bunch of costly items had failed and that the unit needed to be replaced. The service guy had the sales people on the phone almost immediately. I had Mike Hoff come out to give me an estimate on a replacement, but he mentioned that he wanted to look at the unit first. After looking at the writeup from the other company he noticed that the most expensive items on the "defective" list couldn't be checked without Freon in the system. He recommended recharging the system with Freon (with a dye added) so that we could see where the leak was coming from. Unit worked fine ever since. 2 years later we sold the home without ever having any more problems with the so-called unrepairable unit. Thanks Mike!

I am very grateful to him for his time and help. He saved me a lot of worry. Next time, I will just leave it to him and know he prides himself on doing a good job and not on selling people things they don't need.

Hoff Heating and Air has maintained my heat and air for several years. They take excellent care of their customers and use quality products. They don't try to up sell you junk you don't need and their repair men know how to maintain your heat and air systems properly the first time.
