They did a great job. We were very happy with them. It was just a really good experience. They spent a lot of time in design. They have a lot of software that allows you to visualize what's going to happen to the space. We changed up quite a few things and we spent a lot of time to have meetings with their designers. The carpenter they had was just fabulous. He did a great job, was super professional and very efficient. He was very tidy. They did a great job. They had great follow up. I would give them my highest recommendation.

Absolute A's! This was a major upstairs remodel to add a full bath, from a half bath, also reclaimed attic space for a small library. Also a very large closet. We live in a historic home, and they were very respectful of the history and structural needs. They were able to modernize the amenities, but kept the design traditional. Case Design cost a little more then the others, but the timeliness, cleanliness, quality and ability to work with different designers and contractors made it well worth it. In example, we put in a separate zoned furnace/air conditioner upstairs and we used a different designer than Case. So even though Case didn't normally work with that specific designer, they worked well together to do get a great end result.

GREAT. I attended a spring seminar sponsored by Case Design and was impressed from the start. From the first appointment with the designer, all the way through the process, planning, selecting materials, meeting the team, it was a good experience and the end result - my new kitchen - is great! The Case staff are all highly skilled and professiona and NICE people. Very punctual. I received daily updates and was informed if there were any delays (there were very few!). The only issues I had at all were a couple of days when the painters were a little sloppy in their cleanup. Other than, I would recomment Case for your next kitchen remodel. They are a great group of folks! I can honestly say that having my kitchen "torn up" for 3 weeks was not that bad - but very much worth it to see the end product!

The job went very well. They helped us design the layout of our finished basement. They listened to what we wanted and were flexible when we wanted to change things. They helped us every step of the way. David our project manager was great and Liz our decorator was fabulous. She helped us pick out colors, counter tops, cabinets, fixtures, etc. Mark, our lead carpenter, was amazing. He is so talented and very patient. I would definitely hire them again. They are not the cheapest remodeling company but were worth it for how smoothly it went and the finished project.

Our design consultant took us to showrooms to pick the materials for the project. From demolition and removal of everything in the kitchen (appliances, flooring, cabinets, lighting) to beautiful finished room took only 4 weeks. Our project manager was great about accommodating our situation (home business with employees, 3 large dogs) and unexpected things that came up (the sub floor was rotten where the old refrigerator had leaked, the cook top vent required special installation, half way through the kitchen remodel we decided to remodel the bath too). All of the materials and workmanship were excellent. They exceeded my expectations.

About a month or so after the work was performed, I went to paint the areas that had supposedly been repaired by Case. When I got on a ladder and looked closely, I found unsanded areas, loose paint, rough caulking, and areas that had not been filled or smoothed properly. I sent the company an email (with photos of the work) and requested a refund, as I had to re-do much of the work to make it suitable for painting. In return, I received a one-line email that essentially said "you still owe us for the electrical work" (a separate job done two weeks ago for which I had not yet been billed by Case). There was no apology, and no attempt to address my problem. After an exchange of emails in which I was told that they "did not work on that part of the wall" (untrue) they offered to refund for the shoddy work. I'm writing this review not only in response to having the work poorly done, but to the very unpleasant customer service experience which followed.
Description of Work: A number of small repairs in my home, including some surface preparation for painting due to minor water damage.

We met with Case at their office to start the process. I have to say it was a wonderful experience. From the onset they were totally professional. Dan was our project carpenter and we couldn't have wished for a more competent person. At the end of each day, he cleaned up all the mess. He was quiet and during the process he answered any questions had. He was a complete joy. Now the bathroom is finished and it is absolutely beautiful. Case will defintely be our remodeler in the future.

Do not agree with the Case business model. The first meeting was on site to take measurements. The second, and last, meeting was at the Case office. This meeting was a sales meeting that marketed Case---and provided the prospective customer nothing of value. In the Case business model, the customer pays for any design up front.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate without any design details for back-up. The Case estimate was 27% higher than any of the other three estimates.

We are saddened to hear you were not pleased with your experience with our company. We strive to provide tremendous value to all of our clients, and we take your feedback very seriously. As a full-service, design/build remodeling company, our remodeling process is very different than that of most contractors. We begin our conversations about concepts and goals, and provide budget ranges based on those discussions at no cost. It is not feasible to provide exact pricing when the project details are not defined. Providing a budget range allows our clients the opportunity to have flexibility in their eventual design and material choices. The next step involves the creation of a custom design, including taking the homeowner shopping for materials and finishes, and displaying the final design in 3-D renderings. There is a nominal fee for this step, as it is not uncommon for our design team to spend 30-50 hours creating a custom solution for projects like yours. This fee is credited back to the homeowner if a construction contract is signed. All of our contracts also include professional project management, which means we, rather than the homeowner, communicate with and schedule our carpenters and the few subs involved in the remodel. At the completion of each project, our client is surveyed about their experience with us, and we constantly adjust our process to meet their needs. We are proud of the efforts we put in to customer happiness, and hope to have another chance to show you the benefits of bringing our company into your remodeling project. - Jennifer

I will begin by saying that Case is not the cheapest service provider you will ever deal with, and I probably could have gotten this job done more inexpensively, but I had seen their work and felt confident that they could accomplish what we wanted. So I know we paid a premium, but given the fact that we weren't sure exactly what we wanted or how to do it, I was prepared for that. Their design people spent a lot of time with us discussing options and possible materials and they got really close to what I had envisioned with the first drawing. We were not in any hurry, so the design process took longer than it might have had we had a deadline, but this gave us a lot of time to think about what we were doing. Once the project was underway, it went fairly quickly and smoothly. They had a challenge because our floor was not level and they had to allow for that. I thought they did an excellent job of accommodating the floor and effect it had on everything on the project. They got it near perfect and with what they had to deal with, I was very happy with that. We had a couple of questions along the way and they did not hesitate to send out the project manager to look at our concerns. I am pleased with the result and would recommend them.

It went fine. We loved the carpenter. The design took a little long, which upset us because we were expecting to pay for a shorter time span and they went way over budget. Larry Green worked with us and came to an agreement with us on the price. Any little problem that came up, Larry would take care of it.

They came out to do a free estimate. The representative was on time, professional and he took detailed notes, measuring everything and taking photos. They scheduled an appointment for me to meet at their offices. They had a folder of information for me about Case and the representative walked me through examples of similar jobs they had completed for other clients. Using a graphic software program, he projected it on a screen showing me the layout and photos of the final project. He gave me a broad estimate range for my job of +/- $10,000. To get a more exact estimate I would have had to pay them a retainer. Since the lower end of their estimate range was still significantly higher than any of the other estimates I had gotten, I did not pursue the it further. Case has very nice offices and seem to specialize in high-end clients. If this is what you are looking for and you don't mind spending the money, they will most likely do a very nice job for you.

Thanks for the response. One point of clarification that is important to understand. We dont charge a fee to get a more exact estimate, instead we charge a small fee to design the project. This homeowner like many others was not sure what the best option was. So our approach is to provide a professional in-house design team to spend several weeks with the homeowner looking at multiple design ideas and options and multiple pricing points. Remember you cant provide an estimate to someone when the final design solution has not yet been determined. I hope this is helpful to others and thanks again for the feedback.

Every job that Case did for my house was excellent. The drywall repair was perfect and matched the preexisting cieling and wall so well that you can not tell that it was repaired. The supports came out well so that now the shelves are level and my door are sealed properly. The workers call often and they explain what they are doing and make sure you know what is happening and what you are being charged for. They do a very professional job and they are always on time.
Description of Work: Case reapplied the door seal at the bottom of my front doors. They had to remove the doors from the hinges and remove the old seals and bought and applied the new seals. My doors are very expensive and it was a tricky job. Case installed supports for the shelves inside my house and shelves in my garage. The shelves inside my house were in a built in china cabinet. Case repaired a blistering dry wall around a vent where condensate caused water damage.

Case was very easy to deal with. From the numerous design sessions through tear out to the actual remodeling all of the Case employees were pleasant, professional and honest. They listened to our wants and needs, created designs that met those needs, suggested improvements and listened careful to our feedback. We remodeled our entire home (every single room) and went through the design process for each room and then worked with case for a construction schedule that worked for us. I have always believed that you do not measure a service provider by if an issue occurs but what they do when one does. In gutting and remodeling the entire house surpizes were bound to occur. Very few actually did (Case was amazingly thorough in prepping for the remodel). We had two issues of significance. Case resolved both immediately and 100% to our satisfaction. It was obvious that their employees are passionate about what they do. The end result has exceeded our expectations. During the 10 week project each employee from Case was a pleasure to work with: electricians, carpenters, plumbers. Each was obviously an expert and dedicated to providing the highest quality product possible. I could not recommend them more highly. The experience which could have easily been fraught with stress and anxiety was actually incredibly pleasant and even fun.

Case took care of every detail from start to finish. There were so many details with a project of this size that we would have overlooked tons of things ourselves. Once the designer got a sense of our style he helped narrow our choices down so we weren't overwhelmed with everything. When the project moved to the construction phase that team did everything to make sure we were happy with each step. When work was completed they were very specific with the punch list to make sure we were absolutely satisfied. There was no detail too small for us to mention & they even noticed a few things we didn't. In full disclosure I do have to say that Case didn't think they needed to get a permit for the work so when the inspector came by to check out an unrelated project he did issue a Stop Work order. That held us up for a few days but things were back in full swing quickly. Also, the person that measured for the flooring was off by a couple hundred sq. ft. Since it was considered special order we are unable to return the excess. However, Case has assured me they will work to remedy the situation since it was not our error.
Description of Work: Intended to remodel kitchen that had poor layout. Once we got through the wish list of things we would like our 25 year old house to do the final project included not only kitchen, but rear entry, laundry room, bath & office. All rooms were a total demolition & rebuild. Case was able to truly think creatively by moving & combining rooms in such a way that we were able to expand our 3 1/2 ft. wide rear entry hall to a 8 x 11 mud room with cubbies, add an exterior door to our pool, & combine the laundry & office into a big project room with counters & cabinets everywhere without shrinking the kitchen or dining room.

Case recommended that call Linda Westover from the Tile Shop to help us coordinate choosing the tile to match the rest of the bath. It was a great recommendation, she figured out exactly what we needed. They collected all the materials that were needed and brought them to the job site for us. Then they made sure that they took the time to do the job correctly and the finished product was everything we could ask for and more. We would certainly use them aging for more tile work
Description of Work: Case estimated the floor tile job fairly. Then started by filling a hole where we had had a shower trap previously installed. They then removed some carpeting and linoleum and prepped the floor. Then they started to tile the bath. It was a fantastic job. Mike Summers was the guy they chose for the job and we were so impressed with his knowledge and his work. There was a lot of creativity needed and Mike was more than adequate for the task.
