They communicate well and document all their work well. They did a terrific job, they worked hard, took care of the job and honored their original estimate despite the job being a lot bigger than anticipated. They met our needs even as they shifted. They work with their customer's to get them what they need, not what the company wants to do. I got what I paid for. They worked in a timely fashion. I was very happy with the result
Description of Work: They tore down an exterior privacy fence, and rebuilt it masterfully. This required a master carpenter to do the work, and they provided just that. They did a great job

Scheduling was farther out than I would have liked.... 2-3 weeks, but was made aware of this at the first phone call. Service person was on time, courteous, and did a good job fitting an old door into a new location. Made me aware right away how much more it would cost to have the door reversed with hinges and latch on the opposite side. The door was 2" too short and Cecil figured out an inexpensive and adequate solution to this problem. Garbage disposal was installed after a bit of a delay due to a missing part on the disposal. Cecil told us what needed to be done to finish the job, and it was quickly remedied. Sad to say, he was unable to install the thermostat because it required electrician's skills.
Description of Work: Removed old exterior doors and installed an 'antique' exterior 12 light door. Installed a new garbage disposal. Had been asked to install a new setback thermostat.

They were very responsive and helpful. The process they have set up ensures that they are doing the exact work you need to have done. Scott Brinker and Brad Krauss did an excellent job and communicated very well so that we always knew what was going on. Everything was great and we would use them again.

All case workers on this job were excellent. Scott Brinker did majority of work on this remodel and hard working, punctual, knowledgeable and genuinely friendly and pleasant to be around. Kevin Rogers was a good problem-solving plumber and was always here when needed. Randy handled a difficult demolition well. Worked hard.
Description of Work: Small full bath (nine feet by five feet) was demolished to the bare stud walls and sub-floor. New fiberglass drywall was installed and finished. Ceiling was re-worked. New 60" shower unit and glass doors were installed. New toilet installed. Old medicine cabinet and vanity were removed, reworked and reinstalled. New cultured marble sink was installed and piped. During demolition found double layers of drywall and plaster with wire lath between on walls. Very difficult to remove. Several of the new fixtures arrived damages and had to be replaced. Started on time, worked full days, solved problems, good quality work. NO call ahead to warn of start time and day. No supervision of work. No follow up with homeowner. Metal "chicken wire" lath in drywalls and ceiling. Some plumbing fixtures arrived broken or blemished (were replaced quickly by supplier). As Scott Brinker and Kevin Rogers Randy very hard working demo worker. More contact and follow-up by supervision with homeowner!

He did a very professional job. We had four different people come out and give us bids and Jim's was by far in a way the most knowledgeable and professional. We agreed to have them do the job. They had to build a new staircase, which was a curved stairway, and the two workers were Doug and Neil. They built the stairwell, built a book case for us to put where the fountain was and repaired the walls where the fountain had been. They did an outstanding job. Mauricio primed and painted all of the new wood and then painted two coats of paint on the entire stairway and railings. They subcontracted the flooring for the laundry room and behind the bar to a home improvement company and that work was done in an excellent fashion. We were very pleased with the entire job that they did.
Description of Work: Jim came in and told us what needed to be done, how to do it, and what it would cost to do it.

The entire experience from booking the appointment to the completion of the work went very smoothly. The Case representative assigned to my project, Tom Robinson, arrived on time and was extremely professional. We discussed the various tasks that needed attention. He performed every task (even one that I added on that day) in both a professional and efficient manner. I will not hesitate to recommend Tom to friends and will definitely use Case and Tom Robinson in the future.

Quote was reasonable. Jim Issac was very helpful in ordering columns from right company. When columns arrived, they were right there in unloading them. All personnel started in a timely and professional manner, and worked hard relentlessly to finish the job as expected. Tim Kraus (lead carpenter) with his men, especially Brad Kraus and Scott Brinker, did an excellent job in restoring the porch of our jewel house. Tim was always approachable, polite and amenable to suggestions. He communicated very well as the job was progressing. In short, we were pleased with all aspects of work.
Description of Work: Remodeling of front porch with replacement of 4 old columns by new columns (16'x 16"), detailed woodwork, roofing and railing. This job required precision work at height replicating details on a 30-year-old house.

Case did the demolition, the disconnect, and the reconnect. They did a good job, they were just a little pricey. I could have gone two ways for the pricing: paying by time and materials or by contract. Decided to go with the time and materials which was more cost effective.

Our lead carpenter Mark was very detail oriented and great to work with, especially with the custom closet he designed and built for our specific A/V equipment needs. The quality of the entire project was outstanding, and they even were willing to let us match our door styles and bath fixtures to the existing rooms upstairs for continuity. Since Case doesn't use subcontractors without their own specialist on-site, we completely trusted them to be in the house all day while we were at work. The time estimate was a little aggressive (5 1/2 weeks actual vs. 4 week estimate), but the quality was definitely worth the extra time! Also, since we decided not to have weekly status meetings, we felt we had to ask for any status updates instead of having them presented to us on a regular basis. These were very minor concerns and definitely would not change our opinion on the great job completed. We would definitely recommend Case to anyone with a large finishing/remodeling project like ours!
Description of Work: We had our basement completely finished, which started out as a big cement hole in a new construction home. The area was approximately 900 square feet and included a full bathroom area. The job included framing, electrical and ventilation, drywall, paint, carpeting, and prep work for a home theater area. Case worked with our custom theater company to seamlessly coordinate the timing of wiring vs. drywall, etc.

Generally everything went off on schedule, although the job turned out to be a bit longer than planned. The only unpleasant surprise was that I was required to personally schlepp a huge amount of lumber from my driveway to the basement. I had personally estimated about 1/3 less lumber than got ordered. Turns out I was right. Case removed the excess and gave me a credit. The work crew was prompt, courteous and cleaned up carefully. I'd use Case again if I could get the same crew.

The installer built the interior wells for the skylights without damaging my existing ceiling. The new wood trim just needed to be painted at the joint of my existing ceiling and the new skylight wells. The daylight from the skylights really improves the atmosphere in my home and I have had no leaks at this point. The work is neat and complete. They called ahead to schedule the work and came when they said they would.
Description of Work: They installed two skylights in my existing roof. Their carpenter temporarily flashed them so they wouldn't leak until my new roof was able to be installed due to hail damage on my existing roof. When the roofers came to do the new roof, Case's carpenter was on site doing the interior portion of the skylight work and sealed the skylights again to the new roof to insure a proper installation. On the interior of my house their carpenter installed gypsum board wells for the skylights and installed wood trim around the wells at the joint with my ceiling. Their carpenter also installed a pull down ladder to my attic and some plywood decking in my attic.

I was given an hourly rate over the phone. Scott showed up promptly at 7:30 as expected. We went over what I wanted done and before I left for work he told me about how long he expected it to take. It was all completed neatly and the bill left on my counter. I was very happy with the work.

Mike arrived on time. He did a good job filling the holes on our textured ceiling. However, I was very upset with the way that he charged us for the work he did. Case charges by the hour ($85 per hour). He arrived at 1 p.m. and finished all his work, including cleaning up, by 3:50 p.m. He then went out to his car to write up the bill. He came back in at 4 p.m. On his bill, he charged me for 3 1/4 hours. I said, ''Wait, you came at 1 and were done by 4, that should only be 3 hours.'' The clock was right behind us and said ''4:00''. Mike said ''Well, by the time we are done with the bill, it will be 3 1/4 hours.'' That was an extra $21 I paid for nothing. I have never had anyone charge me for the time it takes for me to write the check! I paid it but felt cheated! Then, when I handed Mike a coupon that I had just gotten from a mailing pack, it said ''limited time offer'' but had no expiration date on it. He took the coupon, but argued with me because it did not have an expiration date.

The handyman fixed all the frames, put all the locks back into the door frames. Very professional work, you can barely tell that the frames were damaged and I have not even repainted! They were very efficient and prompt, even though I was not on their agenda at the beginning of the day. I was very impressed with that.

The entire process was great and the end result, fabulous! This is why I always call Case Handyman Service - you can count on them to get the job done right - no matter what obstacles you might encounter. Everyone I encountered was friendly, professional, and highly skilled. My kudos, thanks, and compliments to Chris, Joe, Amy, Cecil, Dean and anyone I have forgotten!
Description of Work: Case removed existing countertops and one base cabinet; prepped the entire kitchen to receive new countertops including the removal of the sink and disposal, etc. Then they installed a new base cabinet for kitchen island and built and installed another new cabinet to replace the one removed. They performed all trim work, and installed the new disposal and reconnected all plumbing. Every single day they worked the house was left clean - which I really appreciate!

Larry Greene came over several times before we started with examples of jobs they had finished, and to discuss my expectations for the project. During the job we also met, as ideas changed. He is sensitive to concerns about cost, as well as to satisfaction with the end results. My project manager, Mike Pfeil, is excellent to work with, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of remodeling. The company is very accessible if there are questions, and good about working with people's schedules. They don't leave messes and are careful about your home. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Finished the basement...made one large room with custom cabinet for TV, and small kitchen area. The basement was previously totally unfinished. The above price included installing a new sump pump, with battery back-up. At the top of the stairs to the basement, they installed a new door with 15 window panels.

I DON'T AGREE WITH THESE COMMENTS. WE SENT OUT A CARPENTER TO DO A FREE DETAILED ESTIMATE. WE SPENT ALMOST 4 HOURS DOING A THOROUGH PROFESSIONAL ESTIMATE WHICH WAS FREE FOR THE CUSTOMER. OUR CARPENTER WHO DID THE ESTIMATE HAS OVER 25 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL REMODELING EXPERIENCE. THE LABOR AND MATERIAL ESTIMATES GIVEN TO THE HOMEOWNER WERE FAIR AND ACCURATELY REFLECTED THE LEVEL OF EFFORT AND COST NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE WORK. OUR ESTIMATE INVOLVED DETAILED PRICING FOR OVER 12 DIFFERENT ITEMS. THE HOMEOWNER DID NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS INVOLVED TO PROPERLY COMPLETE THE ITEMS. AGAIN OUR PRICING WAS DETAILED AND FAIR. THE CUSTOMER'S COMMENTS ARE OUT OF LINE AND I DON'T AGREE WITH THEM.
