So, first, I'm totally impressed because he's the only guy who will even come out to see the problem same day. 2nd, he knew how to find the crack in the basement wall, and how to apply a permanent fix. Despite being busy and the ground being soaked, he hand digs a 4 foot wide 4 foot deep hole to the bottom of the foundation in the leaky spot same day. Cleans it, and applys the first coat of a waterproofing membrane. A few days later he comes back and not only applys the remaining coats of waterproof, he puts ome extra bags of gravel at the bottom of the hole to improve the drainage. Super guy. 1 man operation. You get exactly who you see.
Description of Work: VALLIERES came out same day on an emergency basement leak call. We had one of those huge 3 inches of rain in an hour downpours, it flooded a clogged gutter, overflowed by the foundation and created a leak into the basement from a crack we didn't know about. I called several other providers who couldn't even look at the problem for weeks, others who wouldn't touch the clean up part until the leak was fixed, until I finally found a remediation provider who told me to call VALLIERES. He was busy but said he'd try to squeeze me in and did.

We called Scott Vallieres based on the Angie's List research. We had removed a section of drywall where there was a leak. He came as scheduled and examined the situation. The leaks only occurred during exceptionally heavy rains, so he ran a garden hose against the foundation to simulate the problem. He pointed out that there were tie holes in the poured concrete wall every 4 feet so it was probable that there was more than one location leaking. He removed sections of drywall to expose the wall where the tie holes were located. They were all leaking as he suspected. Once he identified all the leaks he told us what needed to be done and gave us a quote. We set up a time and he came to do the work. Once his repairs dried, I water tested the repairs with a garden hose. Before the repairs 15 minutes of hose running against the foundation outside started the leaks. After the repairs I ran the hose for a full hour with no trace of a leak. Scott was on time for the initial call and for the service work. He was very professional and thorough in his work and in his explanations. We are happy to recommend Scott to anyone that needs waterproofing.
Description of Work: Scott repaired (6) holes in a poured concrete wall. The wall was 26 years old. The holes were where the ties held the concrete forms together and were filled after the wall had set up. The hole filling was no longer sealing and water was seeping in during very heavy rains. Scott drilled out the holes and put hydraulic cement in the holes. He then covered the holes with a special epoxy as a secondary seal for the holes.

Excellent. Scott is certainly among the most careful, professional tradesmen I've ever worked with.
Description of Work: We had been getting water seeping into a corner of our finished basement during every heavy rain for the past year. I believed it was being caused by an overflowing downspout. Scott thought there was probably a problem underground. When he dug a deep trench along the wall where the leak was occurring, he discovered that the perforated plastic tile that the builder had installed around the base of the foundation to carry water to the retention pond was the source of the problem. It was completely blocked about 60 feet from the house. He removed a few courses of brick work approx. six feet wide, applied two coats of heavy tar to the pressed board back of the brick and then affixed an impermeable fire and ice membrane to protect against future seepage. He installed a temporary sump pump to remove any water that accumulated while the drainage problem was being corrected and recommended a top quality drainage expert to correct it. He also recommended an experienced brickmason who replaced the brick.

Scott was excellent. He came out and gave an estimate a few hours after I called, and was back two days later to fix the problem. He was on time, very professional, respectful of our home (i.e., took his shoes off each time he walked through our main floor), and very neat with his work. He was very kind to my young son who watched the entire repair process. I couldn't be more pleased with the repair and without a doubt recommend this company.

We had water trickle into finished basement from behind drywall and large wall mounted TV into carpet. We call them on Friday morning and they called back promptly on Friday, came out within the same day to search for leak. After removing a small area of drywall, they removed a small section of the wall studs and found the water leaking thru a crack in the concrete wall. They cleaned up their wallboard mess and returned early Monday to repair the concrete wall. They were quick to respond, cleaned up their work in a finished basement and performed an excellant job!

Mr. Vallieres responded quickly to our phone message, and came when he said he would. He shared his valuable expertise.
Description of Work: Called Scott Vallieres on 5/2 and left a message. He called us back that evening, and came out the next morning. Because we do not have a poured foundation, he was unable to take care of our water problem; however, he explained what was causing our problem and referred us to companies that take care of block foundations. He did not charge us for the visit, although we were very pleased with his professional advice. He was very professional, and offered much good information. We were very comfortable with him, and would highly recommend him to others who have poured foundations.

Mr. Vallerie responded to the message that I left the same day. He came to the house the next evening and looked at the area that was leaking. Because there was drywall over the foundation, my husband and Scott decided that a piece of the drywall needed to be removed to see the extent of the crack in the foundation. He came back the following week and then gave us an estimate. The work was done two weeks after the initial estimate because we were on vacation. He came to the house right on time. We had an elderly house guest and she was home when the work was done. Scott was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. I came home when the work was almost completed. The cost was slightly more than the estimate because there was a previously applied waterproof coating that had to be removed by hand. He cleaned up the area after he finished and left it cleaner than it was when he started. Since the repair we have had one of the rainiest April's in history and not a drop has leaked. I don't know why we didn't call him sooner. It would have saved us so much trouble and expense. I highly recommend Vallerie's Waterproofing Systems!
Description of Work: We had a crack in our basement wall (poured foundation) that had leaked slightly for a long time. After we removed a narrow piece of dry wall, Mr. Vallerie repaired the crack by removing a small amount of the foundation along the length of the crack and then filling the space with an expandable foam and anchors spaced along the crack. Then this was covered with a waterproof sealing material.

Following a torential rain we had water in our basement from an unknown source. In an effort to find the problem, we called three different kind of companies. Mr. Valliere wasn't in when I called, so I left a phone message marked urgent. He called within the hour and was at our house an hour later. He was the only one to recognize the problem -- water from a water-logged window well seeping in under the frame of a basement window, trickling down the cement foundation wall and then under the metal framing (that's why the windowsill and drywall weren't wet). He told us to remove the drywall and look for seeping water. If that was the source, get a new cover for the window well (ours was damaged) and also dig the well deeper. He also said he would be out of town but would check back with us on Monday. He did. This time he suggested we replace the single-pane window with a glass block one that could be sealed with waterproof caulk. He also suggested digging a post hole as deep in the well as possible and inserting a drain pipe. To our surprise, he went to the store, bought a pipe and brought it back to us. Although our problem wasn't the kind Mr. Valliere's company fixes, I will certainly call him if we ever actually need fo foundation repair -- and I would certainly recommend him to anyone needing that kind of work.
Description of Work: Mr. Vallieres diagnosed the source of water in our basement. He didn't actually do any work, but he went above and beyond the call of duty in telling us how to solve the problem.

I called Vallieres Waterproofing for a quote to seal a crack in my poured concrete basement wall that was allowing water to seep onto my carpet when it rained. Scott arrived promptly to my home and thouroghly explained how or why walls crack, typical crack patterns he sees (locations), and the method he uses to seal the crack to keep the water out. I felt he was honest and straightforward and did not try to upsell the problem or solution to me. His price was reasonable and he guaranteed his work. I hired Vallieres and Scott came back out and completed the job as described in the quote. It took him about two hours from start to finish. There have been two heavy rains since Scott completed the job and I am happy to report that my basement is dry. Job well done. I will definately call Vallieres in the future if I have any other basement water issues. - John Baker

We had a water leak in the basement and I called Scott and he came to my house that afternoon to check out our basement. Our main water leak is not from a crack in the foundation, but Scott was still very helpful in offering suggestions on who I could call to have look at the other area of the basement with the water issue. We did have a foundation crack that had been filled by my husband and it was starting to seep. Scott did say that he could chip out the patch and repair the existing crack to keep it from getting any worse. He gave me a quote and I called him the next day to let him know we wanted to proceed. He returned my call within a day to let me know he was out of town and he would have to check his calendar the following Monday and he would call me on Monday to schedule. He called me Monday morning and asked if I was available that afternoon because he could come out within an hour and fix the crack. I was available and he was at my house within the hour and a few hours later my foundation crack was sealed. Scott is extremely professional and personable and I was very comfortable with him in my home. He has offered to come back and trim the ports he use in the waterproofing process even though my husband can do it as well. I was extremely grateful for his other recommendations for fixes to our other water issue and I am pursuing those options as well. I will absolutely call him again if we ever have any issues with our foundation in the future. Do not hesitate to call him!
Description of Work: Scott Vallieres came and filled a crack in the poured foundation of our home. He uses a substance that fills and permanently seals the crack versus trying to sell me a sump pump system to catch the water coming from the crack as most waterproofing companies have been doing.

Description of Work: Scott returned my call the same evening and was prompt in coming to inspect the cracks in my basement floor. He spent a great deal of time listening to my concerns and testing to see if there were additional problems (e.g. cracks in the foundation walls, etc.) Once we determined that the problem seemed to be limited to the two identified floor cracks, he gave me a price to have the cracks sealed and then completed the work within a few days.

Scott came out and fixed the problem on the exact day and time he promised and did a great job. Not only is Scott good at what he does he is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met in the service industry. Thanks again Scott!
Description of Work: I had a leak in our basement I feared was a crack in the poured concrete wall. I had talked with several basement waterproofers over the phone who suggested I tear out the walls inside to determine the source. Instead I decided to join Angies List and get a top rated professionals opinion. Scott was my first choice. He came out and within minutes determined the leak was actually coming in from around our septic pipe. He saved me thousands of dollars!! I was thrilled.

After having my basement flood following several rainstorms, Scott discovered, and sealed two stress fractures in the basement foundation. One of the fractures required addtional work on the exterior of the house. Scott pursued these leaks with a level of professionalism and determination that one would expect of someone working on their own home. His experiance and knowledge was very apparent during the entire process. I am grateful for his time and great effort in waterproofing my basement!!

Scott came out within a couple days of initial contact and was extremely helpful. He executed a few water tests that quickly identified the problem area. Upon completing analysis Scott was very straight forward, saying he didn't think his services were appropriate for the fix. I always appreciate when someone comes out to genuinely help you fix your problem and not to force their services whether you need them or not. The B in quality was for a couple of reasons. When simulating the water test, both Scott and I got sidetracked in another area, and to no surprise basically repeated the flooding. With that said I had not picked up the flooring or done any significant drying out so I don't believe any additional damage was caused. The other reason was Scott's suggestion of putting a drain in the window wells was a bit off. He assumed the window wells were full of dirt, and only topped with stone when in reality they turned out to be stone all the way down. He wasn't able to get back with me when I followed up with my findings, but again I don't hold much against him as he'd already spent a considerable amount of time helping me out for absolutely no charge. I would use Scott again if I thought there was a possibility that his services were appropriate for my situation (polyurethane filling).
