 + -1 moreThis is the second time that I've worked with Steve to get blinds for my house. As with the first time, Steve was incredibly helpful in choosing out the appropriate blinds. On the day of installation, the guys from the Blind Man were right on time, very courteous and very efficient.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. Steve arrived on time - with samples- even though he had an "inkling" that blinds were not going to be the correct application. While we wanted a solution- and he could have gone ahead and sold us some blinds, he knew- based on our discussion- in the end we would not be happy with the end result. Not all spaces are suitable for window treatments (blinds). We appreciated his integrity and honesty. Of course we will call on him again (we did purchase blinds from him last year) and make a referral.
Description of Work: We called to have a consultation of a window treatment for privacy. We were not sure if blinds were applicable to the area. Steve came out, lugging several big books of blind samples- ask some more questions of what we wanted to accomplish. He arrived at the conclusion that a window treatment would not be an appropriate solution. He suggested another type of treatment that we might consider (one that he did not provide).

 + -1 moreAs described above it went even better than expected. Just having someone who knows what to look for was a huge help to us. We also then asked Mr. Imel what it would take to replace the blinds since this same issue is likely to happen again some time in the future and that might not be repairable as this instance was. He gave assurance that he had choices and even priced out blinds for the room if we wanted to replace them now. Realize the price would only be set for a defined period but I would make to call to The Blind Man when we do decide to replace the blinds and I don't care what the price might be. Mr. Imel was a lifesaver for us and our blinds and I would give him my business when and if the time comes again. He and his service was just that good!!
Description of Work: We had purchased blinds from JC Penney in 2014 that had been installed also by them in Aug-Sep 2014. They worked fine for 18 months but last Thursday 3/24, something happened to the largest blind so that it was stuck. Looked at Angie's list for blinds and repairs and this company came up. Called Mr. Imel to ask about the blind and possible repair. He was at first understandably reluctant since he had not installed the blinds. However, he thought we were in a bind, and since he was already relatively close to where we live, he agreed to stop by and see if he could help with the understanding that there were no guarantees. Within 15 minutes he was at our house and began looking into whatever was causing the blind to "hang-up" and not work properly. He claimed he did not know what he had really done to fix the blind but his patience and care was rewarded by the blind freeing itself and it worked perfectly well after he worked his magic!! Well worth the price of the service call. We thought we might have to replace the blind but Mr. Imel fixed it!! Very pleased. The cost was for an hour long service call and very reasonable.

 + -1 moreWe love our new shutters; they have exceeded our expectations. They used direct mounting installation so that they do not cover up the wood trim around our windows yet they can be easily removed so that the windows tilt inward for cleaning. Windows look so good by themselves we are not planning to add any other window coverings such as valances or curtains.
Description of Work: Installed plantation shutters on our 11 windows (3 double windows and 8 single windows), on our back door, and on our two front door side lights.

Description of Work: Steve and his team came out to our home and measured all of our windows and provided a quote. We looked through a large catalog of blinds and selected what several that fit the look and style of our home. The entire process took less than an hour. We have placed 3 different orders with them over the course of a month. The blinds have come in really quickly and were installed in no time at all. We couldn't be happier with them! They totally transformed our home and provided some much needed privacy.

 + -1 more.Referred me to Abda window treatments who was closer to my side of town. I explained that my blind was stuck and he kept asking me what brand it is. I kept telling him I had no clue because they were in the house when I bought it. Then he said I would have to bring it to him. It is stuck. If I could get it down I wouldn't need his services. Sorry I had to deal with this guy.

 + -1 moreWhen I called, Sam the owner answered his phone. I told him I had a blind at the front of my house and the string had broken. It is Christmas time and I needed it done soon! I asked him when he might be able to fix it and the price. He asked for my address and said how about I be there in 15 minutes? He was reasonable and he fixed another minor repair to a shade at no additional cost. Sam was very courteous and funny! I would recommend this company to anyone. I already started telling my friends if they have blinds and need them fixed to call this company. ( I m sure I just got lucky on the timing, but it never hurts to ask!)

 + -1 moreI'd highly recommend The Blind Man. I called to inquire about fixing a broken pull-cord on my blind. Steve told me that he was on the way to another house and would stop by to take a look at the problem. The blind was fixed in less than 30 minutes from the time I called! Very responsive, professional and courteous. A definite REPEAT the next time one of our blinds falls ill! :)

 + -1 moreIt could not have gone better. They arrived promptly and kept me informed of what they were doing or what needed to be done and when they would return. They told me the cost up front and when additional work needed to be done, they called me first for approval. They even talked me out of fixing something that they felt (and I agreed) did not need to be done at the present time. And to top it all off, they reminded me that my 20+ year-old blinds had a lifetime warranty through Hunter Douglas! They were fantastic!!
Description of Work: They took down six window blinds, took them to their shop to clean and brought them back, re-installing them all in the same day. Additionally they re-strung three of the blinds.

 + 0 moreNick and his partner showed up promptly at 8:30. They looked at each set of blinds to determine what repairs would be needed. They removed all blinds, took them to their shop where they were cleaned and repaired. They returned about 3:00 to re-install the CLEAN,WHITE, like new blinds! Amazing and was so worth it. I would highly recommend cleaning first before buying new anyday.

Yes, the blinds are expensive, but the quality far exceeds the blinds available at the big box stores. I would not hesitate to refer this company to friends and family.

I plan to use this company again to install similar blinds in additional bedrooms. When I told the owner of the company that I could only install blinds in one room at a time, he was not pushy or rude. Instead, he told me that was no problem at all. I would highly recommend this company!!
