The Blind Man

I recently purchased a condo with a very large and uncommon cathedral window. The previous condo owners had installed a custom privacy shade but it did not block out enough light. I wanted the option of having both a black out shade and a privacy shade. I was not present for the initial consultation. Steve met with my mother to see what he could do for us in terms of providing complete darkness for the room as well as an option to let some light in as well. After meeting with several other service providers, it was clear that Steve was the obvious choice. Not only is he super friendly and very professional, but he did not instantly quote us the most expensive line of blinds. Instead, he gauged my needs based on what I told him and some questions he asked me and went through several options with me to best meet my budget and expected quality. My mother and I invited him back so that I could meet with him in person before hiring to ensure color selection. It was hardly necessary as from the instant I met him, Steve proved himself to be highly capable and honest. He was also the best price for the same great quality as the other providers offered. Installation was quick and easy and the blinds were everything I had asked/hoped for. I can finally sleep during the daytime when needing a cat nap.

I found him on Angie's List. Steve got a manufacturer's rep over here to look at it and Steve discovered a flaw in the blinds that caused the strings to break. The manufacturer completely missed this and is redesigning the product because of that. All my blinds are being re-strung free because of that. I have already recommended him to someone.

Exactly as expected. I called Steve and he came the next morning. He gave me good advice on what type of blinds to have installed. The blinds were installed as promised. Steve was professional and responsive from start to finish. I would definitely call him again.

We are getting our office house resided and having new windows installed. The windows were ordered and we had some time to find someone to come in and take down the blinds, clean them, and rehang them after the new windows are installed. Friday evening, June 8th, about 5:00, we found out the windows are coming on Tuesday June 11 and the install will be starting on Wednesday. Wow, I needed those blinds down fast. For weeks I had been trying to get ahold of a blind company that I saw and met with at a recent home show. I e-mailed them, called and spoke with someone at length, and called again. No response. So, I got on Angie's list and looked at Blind companies, read the stories, and knew I'd found someone! I called Steve at the Blind Man and within an hour, had gotten an e-mail back from him that he'd have someone at my office on Monday a.m. NICK showed up and was very professional and speedy fast! Blinds are gone, and I'm sure the rest of the process will go equally smooth. I am also hiring them for my house. UPDATE: Steve has come to our office and measured the new windows for any adjustments in rehanging the old blinds in the new windows. Some will fit exactly, some will fit with minor adjustments, and Steve helped us pick out what we needed for the rest. (Something that matches in color and quality.) New blinds are ordered and hopefully Nick can come and put them back up for us! Great job so far!

I had bought a traverse rod on line that came with confusing instructions. Although I'm normally quite handy with tools, my attempts to change the draw from center to left only made things worse. Mr. Imel installed the rod correctly and carefully in short order. The cost was his minimum fee for a visit and well worth it to me to have this frustrating situation resolved. I contacted the friendly and professional Mr. Imel because he had given excellent service re-stringing a celluar shade six years earlier. I would cheerfully recommend him to others.

We are very pleased with the blinds that he installed, and as stated above, later asked his advice about an unrelated matter.

Called and made an appointment. He showed up on time and was very professional and listened to what we wanted. Gave us options and didn't push one over another. We had a delay from a family tragedy for having the install completed. When we scheduled the install, he was punctual and did a great job. Was very professional. Did exactly what he said he would do. We would/will use him again in the near future.

Steve Imel is very professional and knowledgeable. His recommendations were extremely helpful in deciding the best window treatments. Prices were comparable and even less than online sources . Professional measuring and installation were very important and well done.

I had some measurements when I called but already had a pretty good idea of the cost from Angie's list reports. I was told they do blind cleaning on specific days. True to their word, the blinds were removed in the morning and returned and rehung by the end of the same day. The blinds cover three large picture windows and two small stairwell windows and are all nearly 25 years old. Not all the age stains could be removed, although there weren't that many, and they just seemed so fresh, free of recent home reno dust, and a few were working better with some small repairs. I was thrilled with the cost, the quick service, and the feeling of renewed blinds in a busy room. I was told they also do curtains and drapes, as well as sell blinds. I do have a few more windows that need help and will absolutely call The Blind Man.

He was one of 3 vendors to give us ideas and prices. We have mqany windows and doors to work on and his ideas were the best. We are not finished yet.

It went very well. See the story above. Next time I need anything to do with my Hunter Douglas blinds or need more of them, I'll definitely call The Blind Man again!

When I first called about an estimate, Steve came out the following day. There was no pressure, whatsoever, to buy anything. I explained that I had a budget and could spend only so much. Again, no pressure. He brought in only the samples that fell within my price range. Steve was very personable, patient, and helpful. He advised me on colors that he thought would look nice with my furnishings, woodwork, and wall colors. One week later he returned with my new blinds and installed them. He also removed all the old blinds and hardware for me. I couldn't be happier with the results. The blinds look beautiful, and the color is perfect! I can honestly say that Steve is one of the nicest people with whom I have worked.

My project was simple but he offered suggestions and explained how the finished project would look. The distributor he ordered it from delivered the wrong valences for my blinds, he re-ordered and came back out to switch out

He told me he would need to send it to a vendor to have it restrung.Steve told me I could expect to receive the blind back in a week. However, I received the blind back in 4 days. I was very impressed that he provided all of his services for just $65. And he did a really good job. I thought I would have to replace them, but he was able to save the blind and ensure that they would function properly.

They were prompt, courteous, and competent. They were very pleasant to work with. They did a great job.

It went very well. He completed the work in a few hours. There was a problem with the screen on the door. He ordered a new screen and replaced the defective on with no additional charge.

Steve was very professional, listen to my needs, concerns and offer several suggestions for several types of window treatments what to use for my patio door. ( I had several other estimates for window treatments and he offer the best price) I would use again if I have a need. for change.

Steve was very responsive and great to work with. He had wonderful suggestions as to color to use. His price was very good even lower than my Buying Club. Came out when he said he would and did the work promptly. I called with a minor problem later and he was out within the hour to fix it.

This was our second experience with Steve. He had quoted this work when he installed some blinds for us in May 2011. He kept the same estimate, even though it was almost six months old. He ordered and installed the blinds in seven days. He is professional, personable, arrives on time and completes the work very quickely. We will definitely use him in the future for projects involving window treatments.
