Very professional and thorough. They conducted a full home inspection with radon and insect inspection. The inspector took time to explain items on the inspection and point out potential issues with the new home.

Derrick showed up on time and arranged for access to the house beforehand, so there was no waiting around. This is my first house, so I had no idea what to expect. He was patient with me as I followed him around through the entire house, except for the attic and onto the roof, as that wasn't allowed. He took plenty of pictures and showed them to me as we went and for areas that I wasn't able to follow, ie roof. He explained a lot of things to me as we went through the inspection and he taught me a lot that I had no idea about as a first time homebuyer. I feel very confident in his assessment of the property and received the final report very quickly. The report is very detailed with descriptions and pictures that I will be able to use for years to come. Thank you Derrick

Phil from Security Home Inspections has done two recent home inspections for me. He and his company have come highly recommended by my realtor. Both inspections, he performed the same functions, thoroughly. He arrived on time, walked through everything with me, and explained, in detail, all aspects of items that were noted in the inspection, and even took the time to discuss things that didn't need to be noted in the inspection. They are very knowledgeable, and due to my own knowledge, experience, and attention to detail, I can tell that the leave no stones unturned in their process. Phil spent a minimum of three hours at each home that I had inspected.

The inspector, John Burns, was very thorough, courteous, and helpful in answering questions. He was on time to the appointment and delivered the reports as promised. He was knowledgeable about all of the features of the house.

Security Home Inspection responded very quickly to my voice mail to book the inspection. They explained the available services very clearly, and sent me the confirmation of the appointment at the promised time. At the time of writing this review, the inspection has not yet been completed.

John Burns did a fabulous job and found things the first inspector did not find. He was polite, explained everything to us, showed up on time and was extremely knowledgable.

I have been in real estate for 9 years as an agent. I always recommended Security Home Inspections. I believed so strongly that they are the best in the business and have such a great reputation in the industry that I joined the company. I recently purchased a new home and had one of our inspectors perform the home inspection. They did a great job of pointing out things that were not done per code and things specific to the home that might be of concern. The inspectors at Security Home Inspections have seen and learned a lot in their 30 years of inspecting homes. They know what they are doing and do it well!!

I called S.H.I. for a home inspection on a house I am in the process of buying as I needed a home inspection right away. They were very pleasant and professional on the phone, unfortunately they were booked solid for a week and I would have to wait to be put on the schedule. To my surprise they called me right back because of a cancelation and could book me the very same day, great I thought. When I arrived at the house Jeff Ford was already hard at work going through the house evaluation. He was very professional and knowledgeable about everything we talked about. He went over every square inch of the house and explained everything to me during the process. The inspections went very smooth. Jeff Ford was my inspector for the morning. He was fantastic! Jeff was patient with me; made sure I understood everything that he went over. He was very knowledgeable and informative. Spending 4 hours with someone you do not know can be uncomfortable, but i felt completely comfortable around Jeff. He was personable and approachable throughout the entire inspection. I would definitely use Security again if needed.

That service turned out really well. They were punctual and thorough. One employee came out and he stayed for about 45 minutes. The report is still on it on its way, but they also had fair prices too.

Security provided a 25 page reporting describing problems with house. Since we purchased the house in 2007, the following issues have been "found": 1. In the summer of 2007, discovered water leaking through the fireplace. Further investigation indicated that the entire framing structure of the chimney was rotted. This resulted in the entire chimney being demolished, and spending $25,000 to re-build the chimney from ground level. 2. Have had significant water leak in the family room after snowstorms (first in 2011, second in 2014). Roofing company visually inspected the roof and found that no felt paper was put under the shingles (one of 2 roofs in his career where this was the case). Roof will need replaced at cost of $15,000 to $25,000.

Jon was very professional and explained everything to me. I felt he went far above what I expected of a Home Inspector. He took me around and showed me where everything was, problems, solutions, etc. He took pictures and gave his conclusions. It was very helpful an resourceful!!!!

Dan arrived early to our inspection and got started right away. He was efficient but thorough. The home was new construction but he still checked everything out carefully. He gave us a detailed report and explained everything to us. The report was well-documented with pictures of the issues he found. Overall, very professional.

The inspector was incredibly knowledgeable and honest. He took his time and made sure to tell us everything that he was seeing. The company was also incredibly fast with service and the paperwork they provided. We had the inspection report by 9am the following morning.

When looking to purchase our new home we hired Security Home Inspections to do a complete home inspection (to include termite, radon, and visual mold assessment with full inspection and two mold samples). There were some issues identified that our inspector thought we should have looked at, which we did. There was one issue that wasn?t identified which could have resulted in a rather large expense had the company who installed the HVAC not admitted that it had been wrong since the system was installed (seven years ago), and agreed to fix the problem at their expense. We moved into the home in December and found that the bedroom was always colder than any other room in the house, whereas the upstairs loft area was considerably colder as well. In addition, the furnace seemed to run all the time. We had the company out that installed the system, and have been servicing it ever since, to check it. They couldn?t find anything wrong. We then thought perhaps the problems were the result of an inefficient system, and had a couple of companies out to provide us with an estimate on a new system. Most seemed to think that it wasn?t the system itself, but rather the problem may be the result of there being only one vent in the master bedroom. The difference in the temperature upstairs in the loft area was attributed to the fact that it was upstairs. With the onset of summer, and the use of the air conditioner, we discovered significant condensation issues. We had the company out to look into this as well. Several times in fact. Their initial suggestion was to set each of the thermostats within one degree of one another and keep the blinds closed during the day. While we tried that the problem didn?t resolve itself. Through trial and error we found that if we didn?t cool the upstairs the condensation wasn?t too bad. After six months of dealing with this I just couldn?t believe there wasn?t something wrong that we were missing. Based on our experience since moving into the home, I couldn?t believe the previous homeowners didn?t experience the same problems. Once the condensation issues surfaced when we started using the air conditioner I could see what caused the water stains on the floor in the utility room. What I just couldn?t understand is why the previous homeowners didn?t dig into the matter. I also just couldn?t believe this was ?normal.? Consequently, I started in the crawlspace and visually inspected all of the ductwork myself and in doing so found a gaping whole where the duct work from the utility room was connected to an elbow in the crawl space. I couldn?t believe it. Clearly this was like this from the time the home was built. How on earth this passed the initial inspection at the time is beyond me. How no one discovered it until now is unbelievable. I took pictures and immediately telephoned the HVAC company we, and the previous homeowners, have been using. Fortunately they admitted that this was their fault and took care of the matter free of charge. While we?re still dealing with condensation issues, I feel the gaping whole in the ductwork is clearly something the home inspector should have caught. I understand things can be missed during a home inspection, yet I truly don?t believe this is one of them. This could have turned out to be a rather large expense for us had the company that initially installed the system not admitted that the problem was their fault. As was suggested at the time we telephoned to have the home inspection done, I met our inspector at the home and followed him everywhere. The only place I didn?t go with him was to the crawlspace; simply because I feared getting down there would have been relatively easy, getting out would have been a little awkward. I wish I had accompanied him to inspect the crawlspace, perhaps I would have noticed the gaping hole then. Given our experience I don?t know that I would hire this company again. I realize the home inspector can?t catch everything; however, I truly believe this is something that shouldn?t have been missed.

Derrik Trump is a very prompt and thorough inspector. He did not rush through the process at all. I was very pleased and impressed with the inspection process. Derrik even noted very minor things in his inspection report that were not expected. After his inspection, along with explanations and answered questions, I had a much better understanding of the home I was trying to purchase. Great job Derrik! Thank You!

Kenny was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain his findings and offered a few ideas about preventative care in the future. They gave us a detailed report which was easy to understand and were quick to call us back when we called in to ask a question. The recall check was helpful as it found a recall on an appliance part that we would have never known about. Due to that, the part is being replaced free of charge to us and the sellers.

We were very impressed with them. The inspector had an injury while he was there and he went over and above the call of duty especially considering injury.

We hired Security to do the inspection for what would become our first home purchase. Shortly after moving in, we noticed that doors were not closing, a drain was draining onto the crawlspace floor, and MOLD in the crawlspace. We hired a foundation repair company to inspect the crawlspace, and it turns out that there were a number of issues...poor drainage, leaking waste pipe, cracks in the foundation, and sagging beams. The cost to fix these issues is >$10,000. The only recommendations provided by the inspection were: "No structure recommendations are offered as a result of this inspection." and "Seepage was noted on walls and floor in crawl space. Installing downspout extensions is recommended." We are still working with Security on these issues.

I could not be any more pleased with this experience. Derrik was our technician and he was perfect. He was thorough and diligent with every aspect of the inspection. After each room or section was completed, Derrik would take time to explain everything he found or observed. Our inspection report was very easy to read and we were extremely satisfied with Security Home Inspection. We would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of a home inspection. We hired Security Home Inspection during the purchase of our home. The office was very professional, scheduled the appointment very promptly to meet the deadlines on our purchase agreement. I met the inspector at the house, he was very nice and did the inspection. We received his report very timely, and worked with the sellers on the issues that were in report. What we have since learned since living in our home, was that the inspection made untrue statements about 2 issues in the crawl space. He wrote in the report that these 2 issues were code violations. The sellers hired a licensed contractor to inspect the crawl space and we researched Indiana code online. The licensed contractor and us personally had the same answer - the crawl space was just FINE and was in compliance with Indiana code. We then started to a small construction project upstairs. There was a crack in the wall which I asked the contractor to repair along with other drywall work. He looked at the crack and said "that's not good". He had an idea of what caused the problem, but to be safe, we hired a structural engineer to look at this crack and give us a diagnosis. Both men agreed that it was a "roof prop" problem and need repair. This was a structural problem that both men found immediately - and our Security Home Inspector completely missed. This wasn't a big structural fix - but it could have been down the road. We called Security Home Inspection - they asked to come see the problem but our contractor had done the repair the day before. We left a message that they were welcome to come look at the house, talk to both our contractor AND the structural engineer. NOTHING - we heard NOTHING from this company. This company caused the sellers to spend a lot of money unnecessarily on a crawl space review - when in fact the structural problem was right there in the attic. We would NOT use this company again.

Dan met us at the scheduled time and proceeded in a professional manner.He was very thorough, beginning in the kitchen. He answered all of my husband's question's as he proceeded throughout the 3 levels and exterior. Dan took pictures of specific areas and issues . These pictures and professional recommendations were included in the final, 37 page report. We were very pleased with his professional expertise pertaining to every detail of this building including the attic, fireplace, roofing, gutters, wiring, heating, cooling, plumbing and appliances.

Dan moved methodically through each room, pointing out and recording issues as he went. He answered questions as to whether minor issues were normal or not. He climbed up into the attic and noted conditions that we were unaware of. In the basement he noted cracks in the cover of the sewage lift pump which we had not noticed. He was very thorough and gave us a much better understanding of the issues to negotiate with the seller of the house.

I met the inspector at the property; he arrived on time and prepared. He was able to access the home without anyone else present. I was present throughout the process. We began in the basement and moved up through the house to the attic, then he inspected the exterior of the home and the garage. The person who performed the inspection was efficient and professional, but personable. He answered all my questions patiently. He made me aware of many things that I would not have noticed during the actual inspection. The inspection report was provided within 24 hours. It was thorough and detailed. We found it to be very useful in our consideration of proceeding with the purchase.
