Security Home Inspections

THEY WERE EFFICIENT AND I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM.

I hired Security a little over a year ago and in the months since then I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars to correct situations Security rated "in good condition" or "satisfactory." In addition, they have denied any responsibility for misrepresenting the true condition of this house at the time of the inspection. Dealing with Security has been one of the most distressing and costly events of my life.

Keith was extremely thorough in his inspection and didn't mind that I followed him through the house and watched as he worked because I was curious. He spent a great deal of time explaining the items he was going to flag in his report, as well as how to shut off the well pump and adjust the humidistat (both things that were new to me, coming from a condo). He said he'd be happy for us to call him with any questions about the new house if they came up and also offered vendor recommendations for some issues we needed to resolve at our current home. In addition to the inspection, we were given a coupon for $100 off a new home security system from Castle Wall Security.

The inspector, Keith Filipow, was very thorough. He identified items that needed attention as he went through the house. His report was submitted by email the next day and included pictures. He was very professional and I would highly recommend him to anybody having their house inspected.

And Mr. Simmons was very arrogant, defensive and unprofessional at that meeting Mr. Malcommson, some one high up in the company, also gave a very similar response and did not want to take any responsibility. I contacted an attorney about this and was told that their legal disclaimer is written in such a way that there is nothing I can do about it as it is past 90 days from inspection. The biggest problem I have is that I am stuck with this house, which I would not have bought if I had even slightest idea about anything in the foundation. And even more irresponsible about this whole thing is that it was found during inspection but never told to me, which I thought was very irresponsible. So beware of this company and make sure you read the fine print or else you will be in same predicament as me.

The inspection was well done. John warned me that the furnace was of a model and year that had had problems in the past and advised me to have it thoroughly checked out. Thanks to his diligence in that, we found out that the furnace heat exchanger was cracked and the furnace was not safe to use and needed to be replaced. He also was very helpful in showing me, once he figured them out, how to operate the gas logs, the jet tub, the trash compactor, etc., so I wouldn't have to fumble with them later. The experience was a good one from the view of the inspection process and both John and Security were very professional, returned calls on time, etc. Just wish there hadn't been so much wrong with this house. But then, knowing it in advance of buying is why you have an inspection done and they delivered on that 100%

Two thumbs up. They were very good from the get go. Good in explaining their services and good in doing the inspection on short notice. The inspector, Steve, was very professional, knew his stuff and answered all my many questions. He called to follow-up on the inspection and questions I had. I got the inspection the next morning. They also gave me a $35 discount because they had inspected this home before. I will use them again and got my money's worth. Thanks.

Very good! My inspector was Keith Filipow and he showed up on time and got started right away. The inspection took about 3 hours and Keith worked diligently the whole time. He checked literally everything and walked me through the process the entire time. He even took the time to educate me on various parts of the inspection as well as showed me a lot of great home repair and maintenance techniques. I had the report via email the following afternoon which was very detailed and included pictures. The service was worth every penny and I will definitely be calling them back to do a reinspection prior to closing and move-in.

I don't remember an approx cost but their prices are reasonable. The man who did the testing was willing to answer all of my questions and very professional. My overall experience was good and they were responsive to my needs.

It was excellent! Chuck was very thorough, and even managed to get deep inside the crawlspace to show us things that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I was very impressed with the detail of Kenny Corlette in inspecting the home and the appliances within. Helpful tips as to how to keep the home in good shape were provided. Kenny went beyond what was required and provided a great inspection.

I called Security Home Inspection and asked for an estimate for work. I was satisfied with the immediate attention I received and scheduled my inspection in that first call. A few days in advance of the inspection, the radon expert tried to connect with me to set the radon test. Unfortunately, I forgot to keep my windows closed in the 24 hour advance period. But, he assured me that we'd be okay and had the test set on the day of my full inspection after I had kept the house closed up. On the day of the inspection, John arrived right on schedule and quietly set about to looking over every detail of my home. He spent a good amount of time with me explaining what he found. The resulting report I received a few days later was great. It was like a work list of things I could to make my house immaculate. And, I'm glad I did the radon test as we tested positive.

Overall, very thorough. Very please that the inspector climbed on the roof and got up in the attic to inspect. I have heard a lot of stories of lazy inspectors that do not do these things. Very pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism of the inspector.

Inspector was on time, efficient, courteous and knowledgeable. Report was timely, clear and included photo documentaion.

Security was able to schedule the inspection so that I could attend. John, the inspector, was very professional and, in my opinion, thorough. He spent approximately three hours at the home and was fine with me "tagging along" and asking questions. At the end of the inspection, he reviewed his notes with me and let me know that me, my agent and the seller's agent would receive the report via email the next day. The final report arrived as promised and was easy to follow and covered all of the things John reviewed with me following the inspection. The result of the radon test is the only thing that was unavailable when I received the report, and the report clearly noted the radon results were pending.

The inspector was very thorough and helpful. He answered all of my questions and made sure to point out things I needed to be aware of regarding the house. The seller of the house failed to have the utilities turned on during the first scheduled inspection. The inspector was very understanding and returned to do the inspection as soon as the utilities were turned on. I was not charged for the first trip even though it was not fault of the inspector that the utilities were not on.

The inspector was professional and pointed out highlights. He was very helpful and knowledgeable.

The process went very well! Keith found a couple of items that we would have missed. These items will save us headache a couple of years from now. Keith also reassured us that we were getting a quality home.

Not well at all. The inspector found very little wrong with the house, however that did not turn out to be the case as we would later discover. After moving in, we found several instances of improper electrical wiring and code violations. We also found a crack in our Jacuzzi tub, and found the basement stairs to be improperly lit. We also found an exposed electrical cord sticking out of the ground by the side of the house. We have spent several hundred dollars to have the electrical wiring fixed and things brought up to code.

Steve was very good and professional. Contractor did a lousy job. But Steve insisted that he wanted it done in particular way and made sure that they did a good job.

Home inspection went very well. The written report is highly impressive. It is very clear and easy to read, yet extremely thorough. There are photos corresponding to each item. The company is very customer focused as they make a follow-up call to see how your experience was. Everything about them is professional.

They were very slow to respond even though we are all asthmatic. Another company found major mold in our home. He did arrive when he was supposed to but his findings were inaccurate.

They were good and I would recommend them to others.
