Description of Work: had a couple of installers that didn't get along and blamed things on each other. I didn't understand that the glass coverage was reduced and the frames were bigger than what we had. In other words the viewing space was smaller than what I had. Still have problems with windows not always opening because of some special clip applied for strong winds. I love my andersen windows that have been in my home since 1976, but renewal by andersen is a different product.

Description of Work: They installed 3 windows. The windows are good, and the installation crew was good. I would prefer not to have the same project manager of the crew. We wanted our windows done the same way that our others were handled by other crews. It was not so I called and met him for the first time. He felt that it was no big deal and was not needed. He argued with me to not have it done in my house. The crew was sent back to complete the job per our preferences. But, it cost my time and frustration to implement tge fact that the customer is always right and is the one living in and paying for the home. This was just one person. The previous installation did not have any difficulty.

Description of Work: Installation of new patio sliding doors. Removed old doors, cleaned up the rough-in framing, and installed new doors. Two-man crew worked diligently despite the cold temperatures. Finished in the dark. Crew leader went above-beyond in order to finish same day. Stayed later than his co-worker and got the job wrapped up. They had started later than anticipated due to transportation issues. |

Description of Work: They could only do a partial job- staining needed to be done outside. Some doors still don't operate correctly. Scratched some molding that they said they would repair and didn't. Still not sure we received windows we ordered and certainly not what we expected

Description of Work: I had Renewal by Anderson come out to give me a quote for some windows and before the salesman even finished his pitch I knew this wasn't the company for me. As any educated buyer would do I tried to gather a couple quotes so I compare and contrast and I started with Anderson. However, Anderson basically refused to give me a price that day because after he walked out that price was no longer good and would go up 10-20% - his words, not mine. Therefore, he'd have to come back after I got the rest of my quotes to get a price. If I did get the price that day and wait to purchase (so I could compared quotes) it'd significantly increase the price. High pressure sales, not my thing. Even worse yet, he nearly refused to give his presentation because my wife wasn't present. I will NEVER use Anderson or recommend them to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for your experience with us. We couldn’t agree more that homeowners should research windows before they purchase. Our consultation process is designed to educate homeowners on the value of our products and explain the variety of options available. Renewal by Andersen does not require all homeowners to be present during an in-home consultation. Many of our locations may ask if all homeowners can be present as we have found over the years that given the nature of the project, our customers actually prefer this type of consultation. There are many decisions that need to be made when ordering a custom product and it is important that all homeowners are involved with that process. The pricing we give when at the home is the same for all customers. There is a retail price which is good for one year. Then there is the sale price (this is the current offer that is being advertised) and finally there is an additional discount available for those homeowners that already have made up their mind and want to buy Renewal by Andersen products when we visit them. The final decision is completely up to you. Many people choose to take the additional discount while others don't. We do have many positive comments from homeowners who have purchased from us, however, it always unsettling to hear when we have not provided a positive experience to a homeowner. Again, I apologize and appreciate your feedback and consideration.

Thank you for your review, however we feel it's unfair to give our company an "F" rating for all the categories on Angie's List for one of our staff members knocking on your door. We will make sure they don't enter your neighborhood due to the No Soliciting sign. Our Neighboorhood Response Team is made up of young men and women who are looking to make some extra money by speaking with customers about setting a Free In-Home Consultation to have one of our Field Representatives come out and give them a price on replacing their windows. Each of our staff members are permitted with the Carmel Police Department to do this in the entire city of Carmel.

A gentleman from Renewal by Andersen came to our house to walk us through their product line and measure our windows for a quote. He showed up about 45 minutes late due to overruns on his previous quote. I don't remember his name because he only said it once when he first walked in the door and he never left a business card. He gave us a lot of information about the options we had to choose from and then measured our windows. He showed us a presentation on his iPad that again walked us through Rewnewal by Andersen being the only windows we should be looking at because they were the only "permanent" window solution and all other were just temporary. At the conclusion of the presentation I informed the gentleman that we needed to leave to meet friends for dinner, had he not been late, we wouldn't have had an issue. I asked him to please give us our quote via email so we could evaluate it with the rest of the quotes we were receiving. He agreed to email it over and we never received the quote back. I was definitely not impressed with the Renewal by Andersen selling process after speaking with 6 other vendors about windows for our home. It was very pushy and definitely a lack of follow through on getting our quote to us. We will not look to use them in the future.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We apologize for our Field Rep being late to your appointment. There is no excuse for being late to a customer's appointment and we do our best to be early. Whether the Rep got caught in traffic or took longer at a previous customer's home to give them a quote you should've at least received a phone call from the Rep or our Call Center. Most window companies are able to email quotes to customers, however we are not able to email them unless you've picked out every custom made option. We have multiple different choices for the styles, glass, hardware, screens, grilles and there are two different installation options to choose from. Other companies who stock windows are able to email quotes because there prices are just based on size and color. We prefer to meet with the customers again to go over these options in person because we will give you a to the penny price that we lock in for one year. Once again we apologize for your poor experience and we will address this with the Field Rep who saw you.

Excellent crew, knew exactly what they were doing. Took only one day for the complete install. They even replaced a rotting sill board at no cost. The crew was very adept at the finished trim work inside and out. Andersen also recommended Elite Pro Painting to do the staining and sealing. Stain matched perfectly. Great price from Elite. Nice job all around. Very pleased. I guess you get what you pay for.

The showroom manager was very helpful in explaining the different window options and the installers were on time, friendly and explained the process very well. The windows themselves are very high quality, work very well and were installed carefully with a thorough job of caulking and great attention to detail. We will replace the rest of the windows in our house in the next year or so and will definitely work with Renewal by Andersen for those too.
