Description of Work: Radon fan needed to be replace prior to house inspection. Mike made it a priority to come same day to fix. Replaced fan, fixed PVC pipe that separated, working overtime and did not charge above quoted price.

We were very pleased.
Description of Work: We chose the premium system creating a new sump pit for the radon extraction. The installation was very clean in appearance and followed our requests for the routing of the external pipe. Within two days the results went from 6.2 to 1.2 which was very reassuring, considering readings in winter are usually higher than in summer. I would highly recommend this company. Radon Environmental did honor the Angie's List coupon for $75; we have experienced other contractors who claimed they had already figured the coupon into the price even though we had never mentioned Angie's List previously.

Description of Work: This is a follow-up from our previous report. We have a continuous electronic radon monitor in our home. Last winter, before the work by Radon Environmental, in cold weather we averaged about 7.2 picocuries/liter, ranging between 5.5 and 09.1. In cool weather it was about 5.5 pc/l, and from May to September between .3 and 2.2. This year warm weather readings were between .3 and 1.1. Cool weather was between .7 and 2.1. Cold weather has ranged from 2.0 to 3.1. More importantly to us has been termitacides -- chemicals to exterminate termites -- probably applied around 1989 to some joists in the crawl space. Last year our eyes watered in the winter, some rooms had a chemical smell, and we were worried about health. This year those gases have dropped at least as much as radon, we believe. Only three times have our eyes hurt a bit. We don't feel any lack of energy anymore. The house smells much less like crawlspace than it did last year, though below 25 degrees outside there is some odor as we enter the house. In retrospect we're very glad to have used this more expensive radon system, because we got the big changes we hoped for, especially with the termitacides. It was a big thing for our budget, and we were really antsy about whether it would make a big difference. It's great that it did.
