Description of Work: I wanted to install a TV bracket in my bookcarse. He gave me some good suggestions and was to get back with me on price to do the work, etc. I emailed him twice and called but he never got back to me.

Description of Work: VERY long story short...came to give estimate Feb. 2nd, didn't get estimate till calling and asking where it was at the end of May. He came out April 4th to do part of the list, he changed a light bulb, fixed a drapery rod that was hanging and patched 3/4 of a room and two small areas before coming to say he was out of drywall patch, and he would return. When he was going to return he didn't say, but I assumed with in the week. Didn't see him for a few weeks and called April 24th, said his daughter was sick and wasn't returning till April 29th but he'd have his other guy can in the mean time to finish up the patched areas....which was fine but there was still a ton of others areas needing to be patched. His other guy never called and it is now June 20th and he has never said a word since I contacted him back in April. Recommended him to others before for small quick jobs that didn't seem to be a problem, but also never called my mom back after speaking either. |With that said, he was always very kind, but I am one of the most patient and understanding people you will meet, to a fault I might add but this was ridiculous!

Description of Work: "Provider" showed up 45 minutes late to his first appointment so I should have know then not to hire this guy. We went through the job and decided on September 25th @ 1:00pm to complete the job. On September 25th @ 2:35pm I called "Handy" Dan to see if we was still coming considering he was almost 2 hours late. Needless to say he wasn't coming and wasted a half day from work which I don't have a lot of. I won't be using this person in the future and will be spreading the work on how he treats people

+ 4 moreWhat a likable and professional bunch. I have never seen such perfectionists crew. They did the work like I would if I could. I will certainly use their services again and recommend them highly. They made suggestions about the work I needed done that saved me lots of money. They could have done it like I was saying, made more money and not have been nearly as good as the way they suggested. I will definitely use their services and recommend them to everyone that needs a handyman.
Description of Work: Drywall, widened interior doors to accommodate my wheelchair, painted, grout work in entryway, installed a ceiling fan and repaired wood floor.

I looked up Dan's information on Angie's List on a Friday morning and called Dan. He was very nice and said he would be able to install it that afternoon about 5:00. He estimated the amount of time it would take (and was right on), explained the charges and said he would call when he was done with his appointment and was on his way. Dan was right on time, did the work exactly as he promised, explained how the new unit worked and how to program it. I was delighted by his professionalism and the job he performed and am happy to find someone I can use for different jobs around my home that might come up.

Came by evening before doing the work to seal the leak, then showed up exactly when he promised the next morning with Dave (plumber). Both very polite, in and out in less than an hour. Price was exactly as quoted before starting the work. Excellent experience.

+ -1 moreIt went great. Took him a little more than an hour to switch out the broke pump with the new one. Had to do a little retrofitting since they had changed the pump slightly since the first one was installed 17 years ago. He first quoted me a price that was higher than another estimate, (but I'd have to wait a week for that handyman). He matched the price and came right out that afternoon to do the work. Very pleasant nice guy.
Description of Work: I needed a Home Guard water powered back up sump pump replaced in the basement. It took two days for him to return my call (a problem with his cell phone, he said), but then came out the same day and replaced the back up sump pump. I had already purchased the pump on the Internet from Ace Hardware (it was much cheaper there than anywhere else, by the way).

+ -1 moreReturned call promptly. He accessed the problem, fixed what he could and recommended someone to do the remaining project. It was an emergency situation. The rain storm shorted the outside and some inside outlets a day before we were having a Christmas party. I did not ask for an estimate ahead of time. I knew from work previously done that his prices were very reasonable.
Description of Work: Fix leaking refrigerator, replaced 2 outside ground fault outlets and some other minor electrical work. When one project needed equipment that he did not have, he advised me that it would be less costly to have a an electrical company do this than having him do it manually. He recommended a company and they were excellent. It was reassuring to know that this company knew what they could do properly and what was beyond their particular expertise or equipment. I have used them before for other jobs.

+ 1 moreWe called Mr.Higgins to replace the kitchen faucet and the inside floor of the cabinet under the kitchen sink. He came out to look at the problems and since it was before the Thanksgiving holiday I really needed the faucet replaced. Even though he had a full day of scheduled work he came back that afternoon and replaced the faucet. As he was there he ask why we had a huge missing piece of drywall in our kitchen ceiling. We told him we had had three plumbers so far trying to find a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom. He looked at the bathroom upstairs and found the problem immediately. He put splash guards on the bathtub that night. The following week he came and replaced the cabinet floor underneath the kitchen sink, which was a fantastic job! He did more repair to the wall next to the bathtub. We waited a couple of weeks to see if this had fixed the leak. After 3 plumbers Mr. Higgins solved the problem! He fixed the drywall - beautiful job. We will have him do all our work!
Description of Work: Mr. Higgins repaired a leak from an upstairs bathroom, repaired drywall in the kitchen that had been removed from a previous plumber (who had tried to fix the leak). He also replaced the kitchen faucet and replaced the cabinet floor under the kitchen sink.

+ -1 moreA very good experience. Dan was ill and not able to make the first appointment. He contacted me and we set up a new appointment. When he came to examine the roof job, he also looked at a drywall problem and told me how I could easily fix it, thus saving me considerable money. He also advised me on some grout problems. I was impressed that he suggested an easy fix when he could have suggested a more time-consuming solution that would have been fairly expensive, but not better.
Description of Work: Replaced two vent boots on the roof. Removed old ridge cap and installed new ridge cap. This was a very steep roof and the vents were 3 levels above ground.
