Mr Handy Dan LLC

I needed to coordinate the replacement of two vanity tops and mirrors, so the timing was important. Dan responded to my calls quickly and was flexible with his visits to do the work. A great job!

They didn't clean up after himselves. They left alot of paint chips on the carpet in the back landing.

He had been covered with work, and didn't return my calls right away, but came on the day/time that (I had left a message) was convenient for me. He encountered several problems in our older home, but solved each of them with good humor. The installation, which he had estimated at 1-1/2 hours took nearly 3 hours, but he kept to his original pricing. He was terrific, and we wouldn't hesitate to call him again!

They did a great job. They were prompt, very professional. Everything was great.

Altho slow to provide estimate, quickly perfrormed the tasks when given go ahead

Repair required 2 visits. Gave rought guess over the phone then written estimate when he saw it. Had them start work immediatly. Had to return to sand and paint the drywall. Very happy with result!

He did some sealing and said he did not finish and would come back in better weather and complete the job. He said he had a problem because of the slop of the roof in terms of accessing the area he needed to work on. I could understand if he was unable to think of a way to solve the problem and just told me so and said he could not complete the job. However, after a while when I did not hear from him, I called him and he said he still intended to complete the job. I never heard from him again. He never billed, me so I am not out any money, but the problem was not corrected and it resulted in extended aggravation.

Dan responded that day to my inquiry, and came to quote the job with in a couple of days. The job was in two parts, as I wanted the exisiting toilet and sink removed so a tiler could do the wall tiles. Dan came on the stated day at the prearranged time. He had an assistant who remove the toilet and sink and replaced the bath faucette, whilst Dan did the electrical work (fan, lights). They spent approx. 3 hrs and left everything cleaned up. They were very efficient and professional. Dan was especially curtieous and responsive to my requests. The second part occured about 16 days later. Dan had van trouble and so sent 2 men ahead of him. They arrived late. (I did have to phone them to check they were coming 2hrs after expected time.) The men worked quickly but not carefully, and in the process the wooden sink cabinet door got chiped. The job was completed within a couple of hours and later that evening Dan came to review their work. He removed the door and said he would take it to a french polisher to put right the damage. This he did with no extra cost to me. Over all this was not a smooth job, but I did feel that Dan represents himself well professionally. I think he prides himself on working with a client and ensuring they are entirely satisfied. However, that is not the case with his staff, and I think he spends alot of time smoothing things over and making good the things that these other fellows fail to do.

I called and immediately got an answer. He was working another job but fortunately he was able to take the call. I didn't schedule and wanted estimate information which I was given. I called back later with no answer and I left a message. He quickly returned my call and we were able to schedule an appointment on the spot. As stated above everything went well and the job was completed in a short amount of time which pleased me and the tenants at the house.

A wooden fence panel in our back yard had been blown down by high winds. I called Dan for an estimate. He came out on a weekend and assessed the job and gave us an estimate of the cost. He was punctual, friendly, and professional. He and an assistant came out that next week and did the repairs as scheduled. He did a great job. This guy is professional and does good work. I highly recommend him and will hire him again as needed.

I was having an issue with cable service (internet, phone, tv) The cable co. deduced that the interference was coming for voltage somewhere inside or outside (the ground) my house. I had to have the power company and an electrician (Mr. Dan) check my house. I was impressed with Dan's skill and honesty. Dan was prompt and arrived on time. He was fast and was able to determine my problem was not due to any wiring issues. I was ready to pay a house-call charge of some sort but he doesn't charge people unless he conducts 'electrical' work. I was so pleased with his ethics and quality that I scheduled for him to install 2 ceiling fans. I am always looking for people to trust in the home-repair business. Dan is one of these people and he will be at the top of my electrical list for people to do good work and are ethically sound. If you need work done and want confidence in ability and ethics, I would keep Dan's reference nearby.

He did a great job all the way around. We will definitely use him again and recommend him to everyone. He has only been out here once but he will be back shortly whenever we need him.

If you didn't know about the problem, you would be unable to tell that the area had been fixed with new drywall and textured/painted to match the rest of the ceiling. The crew was able to salvage wallpaper trim abutting the ceiling. Three trips were required after viewing the area for an estimate. The first trip was to install the drywall, the second was to add the texturing, and the third was to paint. Each trip required the results to dry before the next step. Mr. Dan did not make it to his first appointment with us. His crew was here early for the second step, and he was a little late for the last step. His original estimate was $385, which was the same as another handyman, then he mentioned $325 after viewing the site. Mr. Dan was cordial and professional in our contacts.

Dan's crew came out to install a new ceiling fan in our family room. However, it wasn't wired correctly (the house is 88 years old) so they had to do some additional electric work in order for the fan to be installed. Because they had to get into the electrical outlet, they came out on 2 other occasions to smooth the wall around the outlet so that it looks just like it did before. Also, Dan had quoted the ceiling fan job while he was working on our previous project and he emailed me the day after the job was completed to let me know that the cost ended up being about $25 less than the original estimate, so he asked if we would like a check sent to us or a credit of $25 towards our next job. How completely honest! Anyways, without a doubt we'll be hiring Dan again at some point, so we vouched for the credit.

I use them a lot. They are an extraordinary value for the work that they do.

I have used a lot of handy men/general contractors. He is the best "across the board." This meaning quality of work, price, punctuality, communication, clean-up, etc. He has made special effort to work around my schedule and odd requests. Most importantly for me, I trust him. If you feel you need this type of work done, stop looking around and just call Dan. It's that easy.

Dan was able to send a plumber out within a few days. Had a problem with a small gas leak but they came back the next day and took care of it. Initially billed us a trip charge that was not mentioned originally but Dan very graciously removed the charge. Would definitely use them again.

Dan did not charge us a fee for the visit.

It was excellent work from beginning to end! My bathroom looks brand new. I have him scheduled to do another job for me this upcoming month.

I cannot say enough good things about Dan. First, he is about the nicest guy you will ever meet. Very friendly and professional. He was willing to install a backup sump pump I provided (PHC Power Pro 1730), as opposed to the plumbers I called who would only install their own for $1000-1500. Since the charge for installing the backup pump was only $250, that means I was able to have it installed for a total cost of less then $700. I also saved a bundle on the electrical work. The estimate I got from another company for the electrical work alone was only about $300 less than the total cost of this job including the pumps. When Dan ran into a rat's nest of wiring in the attic when installing the exhaust fan, he got assistance from a worker with this same electric company that gave me the estimate. Dan is very capable, but is also smart enough to know when he needs to call in assistance. By having this work done, some potentially dangerous wiring issues of my older home were remedied (including the attic one already mentioned). Everything works well. We can now shower at night without the smoke alarm in the hallway going off from the steam and disturbing our sleeping kid. My wife can use her hair dryer in the bathroom instead of going downstairs. We no longer need worry about our finished basement flooding due to a power outage during a storm. The convenience of being able to have the plumbing and electrical work done by the same person was invaluable, given all the other things I had to deal with at the time.

I would have to commend them for their rapid response (even juggled schedule to meet with me early in the morning). We changed the scope of work on the job site to what I felt was an easier job. However, the price was unchanged from what was originally quoted.

Dan arrived timely. Showed him the areas of concern. He described what he would need to do to evaluate the overall damage and repair. After moving the toilet, showed me the damage and what it would take to repair it. Repair involved removing part of the subfloor. Flange was also in need of replacement. Dan contacted a licensed plumber to come make the repairs. He was here within 30 minutes. Flange removed and replaced with new. New subfloor put down. Reset a few tiles for me and then reset the toilet. Dan also completed a drywall repair in another room. Area was cleaned up well after the work was done. Dan is very friendly and very honest. I felt the price charge for the work was more than fair, given the work needed to repair the floor. I am so glad that I chose Dan to make the repairs for me. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone!!

From the very start, Dan was such a pleasure to work with. We called and scheduled a time for him to come give us an estimate on several jobs we wanted to finish around the house. Dan came over and checked out our jobs and emailed us that night with an estimate. We thought the estimate was very fair, and scheduled the work to be done in two weeks. Dan and his crew of two men arrived on time Monday morning to start working. They were great - even good with our super awesome dog, RUPERTMAN! They did such great work; everything looks exactly how we imagined. I was very impressed with Dan not only because of his professionalism and clear knowledge of his field, but because he called me the next day to see if I was pleased with everything. My boyfriend was at the house while the work was being done, and he told Dan everything looked terrific, but Dan wanted to make sure I was on board too. How great is that? Anyways, we already scheduled Dan to come back out to do some more electrical work and install another ceiling fan for us!

Dan supervised the work and was very meticulous. He made sure everything was done perfectly.
