Mr Handy Dan LLC

I called Dan. He scheduled us right away. There was very little wait. He was on time. He was careful not to damage what was already there. He had his own equipment. He was efficient with time and materials. He was very knowledgable. He helped me solve several problems while at my house. I will use his service again.

It was really outstanding. We had a broken antique statue (very fragile); he fixed it without any problems. He showed up on time, returned the statue when quoted, and his price was very reasonable. He was very pleasant and easy to work with. I'm happy with his services and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

This was a good experience overall. This was my first time to use this company. I was a little concerned with the installation because I didn't know what kind of bracing was needed and there wasn't any attic access above this room. I discussed it with Dan over the phone and he seemed knowledgeable and told me a couple of things that might be needed, but couldn't say for sure until he saw it. They did a quality job and had a professional attitude. The job was completed quickly.

Very nice and professional at the visit, seemed to have knowledge about what it would take to do the jobs. Never contacted us again.

We think that he is great. If he does not know the answer he knows somebody that does. They will come and check it for us and tell him what needs to be done. He allows us to get second opinions and he is not pushy. He gives us honest opinions whether we need just a little something done or whether it is going to continue to get worse and if we should overhaul the whole thing. He just does really good work and we have been impressed with all the things that he has done for us. He has done electrical, plumbing and gas line work for us, so he has done numerous different kinds of things for us. We have an older home too and he has been really good about that.

He didn?t do anything extraordinary or unexpected but he did a good job. I would use him again.

Everything was fine. He was never punctual and wasn’t here when he said he was going to be here. He cleaned up after himself.

He was very prompt. I didn't use him. He responded the next day and gave me a bid. He was great, but I ended up going with someone else.

Dan was extremely personable on the phone and explained his hourly fees, etc. We scheduled a time for him to come perform the work (a Monday at 5pm, which meant that I or my husband needed to be home early to meet with him). I called him that Monday "just to make sure" we were still on for that afternoon, and he indicated he had left his schedule at home, so he was "glad I called" so he could get my address, etc. If I hadn't called, he wouldn't have shown up. He did come at 5pm but was not prepared to do the work - instead, he took notes and indicated he would come back with another person to complete the work in about an hour and a half. That was the first miscommunication - I thought he was going to do the work on that first visit. We rescheduled for 2 days later (Wed), again at 5pm. My husband came home from work early to meet Dan, and at 6pm, he still hadn't arrived. My husband called him and Dan indicated that a job had run over and they would be there "soon". They arrived at 6:30pm and Dan simply said to me 'I hope you guys don't mind - we really wanted to finish up another project". Considering we had a realtor coming at 6:30pm and our child goes to bed at 7:30pm, we had planned for them to come at 5pm so they would be finished when the realtor arrived - it would have been nice to get a phone call instead of us calling him. Once there, he and his colleague worked quickly and efficiently, and the work was done well; however, because they were so late, it was dark and therefore they were not able to do the 2 outdoor tasks. Our house was being listed the next day, so I insisted that he come back the next day to hang the shutter so it would be finished. When we received the invoice, we were surprised at the amount of time he indicated it took him. 2 guys were there for 1.5 hours, so I would have expected to pay for 3 hours labor - instead, we paid for 4 hours labor, 15-30 mins of material shopping, PLUS a $25 service call/travel fee, which was NEVER mentioned. When we asked Dan about the seemingly high charges, he was rude and inflexible, indicating that I didn't hear him when he told me about the travel fee. I asked him specifically if Fishers was okay with him, and there was no mention of a fee - I saw the same thing happened to another Angie's List reviewer, so this seems to be a trend. He also said that he had gone out of his way to return the next day to hang the shutter and that we should appreciate that. Again, if they had been on time the night before, he would not have had to return the next day. Ultimately, he was rude to my husband and refused to credit the service fee, and mentioned that "all that matters is if the work was done well". We agreed to pay for everything minus 15 minutes of work. In my book, yes, the quality of the work matters, but so does the coordination of the visits, being punctual, and showing fairness in your pricing. I am actually surprised at how this turned out, as I thought Dan was pretty personable and professional when I first spoke with him.

Dan is very efficient and a nice man. He did excellent work and definitely knew what he was doing. The overall story is that it was an excellent experience.

He just finished it yesterday. He is doing a deck repair and he hasn't finished that yet. He was fine and did a good job. He was very responsive and very flexible with his time. He helped diagnose the problem with the dry wall damage and fixed it. Their pricing is reasonable. He is a very easy going guy.

These guys are outstanding. Dan and his helper Kevin are both gentlemen and their work ethic is of the highest quality. They enjoy what they are doing, and they are good at it. Our little 'to do' list from us kept changing and they were able to make the time to take care of all the 'other' little extras that we asked them to do. I will and AM going to rehire them to do more work for us within a few weeks.

He did a very good job and the price was good.

Overall, the experience was excellent. We couldn't close the door because the bolt was sticking out on our back door. I called him at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and he came right over. We had to buy a new lock & he returned that same evening to install it. He was very prompt in responding and completed the work quickly and efficiently. We had work done previously by other locksmiths, and compared with what we paid them, his price was very reasonable. I'm happy with his services and I would highly recommend him to others.

I like the fact that they do their work well. They do small jobs too and they are good. The job they did wasn?t a big deal. My window had rotted out because of the water and the handyman fixed that up. He also put a rubber thing on my roof because it was leaking. So it was about $300 for both the jobs and they followup on their work. They do the same thing that you would do. They will call you to ask if you liked the work they did. The price was reasonable for what they had to do. The quality of their work is good. They will come right out and I have no problems with them at all. I was looking for somebody to do what I wanted to have done without getting a hold of a construction company. Mr. Handy Dan does odd jobs. If you have a small job to be done like painting a deck at the back, then they clean and paint it. So they are pretty good with that. I wouldn?t hire a big company for a little job. I depend on them for smaller jobs. They even do plumbing. I had a guy come out for my sump pump work and he was pretty good. They send people out and they handle everything. Their punctuality is good too. They are exceptional about some things and they are not very professional about some things. However, they are professional about most of the things. There is no big contract to be signed if I use their services. My brother was the one that told me about Mr. Handy Dan. He used them to do the work for him and they put in a shower in his bathroom. The handyman is excellent. I would use their services in the future too.

I was very pleased with Dan. He is very professional, and very nice. I was able to work around my schedule and was prompt and courteous. He replaced the front and back door knobs, deadbolt and locks. He was quick and cleaned up after himself. I will definitely use him again for my handyman needs. He offers full service.

Overall, we are happy with Dan's work.

Dan and his crew did a great job. I have since moved to Florida and hope I can find someone in this area as honest and detailed as Dan.

The handyman didn?t level the floor properly before he installed the tiles. There is one tile that didn?t fit well and it?s kind of loose. I would not use his services again.
