Litchfield Landscape

This is a church garden mostly cared for by volunteers. This is the first time we have not done our own spring clean up and mulching. I asked to be called and talk with the supervisor on job day. I received a call they were on their way and met Ricky for a walk through. There are varying opinions on how shrubs and perennials can be trimmed and cut back. Together we made decisions, Ricky did not take notes so I thought it best to check in an hour or so latter. Things were going well then. The two crew men were hand raking leaves out from under the hedges and Ricky was trimming shrubs. There were a few more things to decide at that time. The job was completed as we wanted. I thought they put a nice new shape to the annuals bed.

We had a lot of trees put in. I had contact with them for the gardening. I used them last year but they have gone through changes. The owner is no longer with them. I'm not happy. They are not that bad. The lady is good, she is hands on and checks everything out. They are a little pricey.

SPoke with someone and they were going to have someone else return my call. Never heard from them.

This is a highly capable team. Their design work is exceptional and their execution installing material not only matched the conceptional drawings, it exceeded my expectations. Ann is a designer with integrity. The crew took meticulous care of our existing lawn and landscaping. I would describe their respect for our existing property as the best I have experienced. The crews are well-supervised and senior management spent considerable time on-site as well. Litchfield made multiple trips to make sure things were done to our satisfaction and the team leader, Mike, pulled trees and replanted them when the installed placement wasn't entirely to our liking. and quot;You're the customer,and quot; he stated. And he doesn't take that sentiment lightly. They were very amenable to adjusting the plan and making some on-site changes as things took shape. As a CEO, I am hyper-focused on customer service and exceedingly particular. For this company to impress me as they have attests to their capability. Donny Duke runs a great operation. I initial engaged them to do something smaller in scope to assess the level of workmanship. They took great care of our needs prior to knowing we had additional work for them. Accordingly, I would highly recommend them for any size job. You'll be valued as a customer.

Didn't use. My time is worth something as well. I don't understand a company that doesn't call when they are not going to be on time or not even show.

This company has been taking care of my yard for 20 years. The company great. They are reliable, very good with customer service, They will design anything for you. They are very good at following up.

They were prompt and got the job done really fast.

They worked very fast but did a great job. They have a large crew.

Great result. Zoyzia grass is very hard to get rid of but now after many failed attempts trying to do it ourselves our lawn is finally free of it.. All the sod took and we are vey pleased.

It went very well. Had a little difficulty figuring out when they were going to come as I am not around regularly but they were able to get work done without me around as it was outside.

Beautifully smooth and problem-free. Easy for us to feel we were in good hands with top notch professionals.

Jim Altum designed a very appealing front patio for me. His knowledge of plants is very impressive and he listened carefully to my description of the feeling I wanted for the space. I wanted formal, and symmetric, without being bland! He gave me that and more - I love it! The plant choices were well suited to the environment and are thriving in their locations. But, two tree hydrangeas that were to be a matching pair are actually different varieties (one pink, one white, and they bloom at different times) and the replacement has never been installed. A crew came early this year to replace one, but the tree they brought was way too small to match; the crew said they would be in touch about how it would be handled. I called the receptionist a couple of weeks later - never heard back which was pretty typical. My greatest frustration on the entire job was communication. During the bulk of the job, calls placed to Jim typically went unanswered for more than a week; I usually had to call at least twice to get a response. Start dates were very vague and so were completion dates, and this project was performed in the middle of winter or 2009-10, what I expect would be a slow time. Other minor things which were annoying at best: I had to request that some of the hardscaping be reset because it was to be shaped in an arc, but was visibly uneven. Finally, I felt the soil used in the beds is of poor quality, requiring considerable amendment whenever I add plants. There was a thin layer of peat, under several inches of clay, but it wasn't mixed in well.

They did very good followup. They are very nice. They replaced some trees.

They are excellent and did a high-quality job. They were reasonably priced and timely.

They are fabulous. I don't remember how much I spent with them. The owner is wonderful. They are just reasonable. They are creative and have wonderful ideas. I think he is great. We worked with Donny Duke and he is wonderful. They are very talented, very upfront, and truthful. They do a good job. They teach you how to take care of the plants so you can keep them living. He spent a lot of time with us talking to us about how to take care of our yard and offered a lot of free advice. He was very knowledgeable and I was really impressed with him. I would use them again in the future.

It went well. They showed up when scheduled. The work was done in a pofessional manner. The work area was cleaned up on completion. We had a problem with a chipmunk digging under the walk. They promptly repaired it in a way that solved the problem.

Mr. Jim Altum is the owner of The Litchfield Landscape. His company also does a lot of residential landscaping. He did a very good job for us. He comes regularly and maintains the landscape. He is very nice. He also shows up on time. He is a very responsible and reputable person.

Great. Came out this spring to answer a few questions about some of the new plants.

Jim Altum is a delight to work with. Very nice, professional, in tune to our needs and his design for our yard was outstanding. The crew we had did a great job, and Donny, the forman was also wonderful to work with. They removed unsuitable soil and added amended soil to areas where I plan on planting gardens. They then added trees and shrubs. We are very happy with the finished product.

I like everything about them. They are very good to work with and very kind people. They really know their stuff and make everything look super!

CAME OUT LAST WINTER AND AFTERWARDS THERE WERE SOME BROKEN SPRINKLER HEADS. HAD TO FIGHT WITH THEM TO RESOLVE. NOW, AFTER THEY CAME OUT TO WINTERIZE THIS TIME, A NEW CO. CAME OUT TO OPEN SYSTEM AND DISCOVERED THAT 2 MORE HEADS WERE LEAKING.

SUPER SERVICE. WAS OUT IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THEIR PROBLEM.

HE WINTERIZED HER SYSTEM, BUT BROKE 5 HEADS IN SPRINKLER SYSTEM. AFTER REPEATED CALLS HE FINALLY AGREED TO FIX PROBLEM.

VERY FAIR PRICE. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. GOOD PLANT QUALITY.
