J. Stacy Landscaping LLC's mission is to design and maintain beautiful, functional landscapes that meet our clients' need and exceed their expectations as we turn their dreams into reality. To further this mission, we strive to provide creative solutions, quality service, and to deliver to each and every client 100% of what was promised. In this endeavour, we are committed to serve our clients with honesty, integrity, and reliable service. We view our client's projects as an investment in our future, earned by our client's satisfaction and providing them superior service.
We used J Stacy for lawn care and landscaping for a year. They were consistently behind schedule on lawn treatments, which I believe ultimately left our lawn in worse condition than when we started. When there were glaring problem areas in the lawn, I expected to get some sort of assessment and treatment plan, but this was always left up to me to ask about and try to figure out. We usually only found out they were there by receiving a bill. The final straw was when we agreed to a fall cleanup, and was charged triple the normal price because they said they charge by the hour, and decided to do work I specially stated I didn’t want or need done and were working very inefficiently/slowly and without professional equipment.

Hired J Stacy to trim trees and bushes, as well as requested suggestions for adding privacy shrubs in back yard. After trimming was completed (late fall), I noticed that they did not trim back a few of the fast-growing bushes nearly as much as Jeremy indicated they would. When contacted, Jeremy indicated they would stop by to trim the bushes over the next couple of weeks, if they got the chance; otherwise, they would trim them first thing in the spring. He also indicated he would draw up privacy tree/shrub options over the winter for us to review for spring installation. When spring rolled around, I reminded Jeremy that the bushes still needed to be trimmed. He asked me to send him a picture of the bushes so they knew which ones to trim, which I did. 1-2 weeks later, I sent another email indicating that we were having mulch installed the following week, and I wanted the bushes trimmed before the mulch was put down. I never heard from Jeremy (nor did he ever provide the options for the privacy tree/shrubs). Since the bushes weren't trimmed, I requested a partial refund of the money we paid for trimming last fall since they didn't fully deliver what was promised and paid for. I never heard from Jeremy. Nice guy, but not reliable or responsive. Would not recommend.

We had always mulched our yard ourselves, and the last few years the job has just gotten too big for us. A friend recommended J Stacy and we will never go back to doing this ourselves. Our yard looks like a million bucks when they are done. It has freed us from having to spend all of our spring weekends working out in the yard; the job is done over about two days. Our yard is only 1/3 acre but we have extensive mulched beds and a collection of perennials, and the crew is very careful with our treasured plants. We mark where our TV cable lies close to the surface and they are careful not to damage it when edging the beds. The service is arranged by email and if if weather makes it necessary for them to postpone a few days, communication is very clear.
Description of Work: Spring clean-up, cut back winter-killed perennials to prepare for spring growth, remove all debris, hand-cut edge all beds and carry away the removed heavy clay soil, supply, deliver, and spread 16 yards of grade A mulch.

Day one... 2 guys dropped off with no landscaping experience.. supervisor not on site. edges were rough, window wells not cleaned out completely, accidently cut a drainage hose Called owner that evening.. received apology and came back next day. 2nd day work was done very professionally. My husband added work to the quote without asking price.. that was our issue. hidden costs on delivery and disposal not quoted. We paid bill in full after owner got frustrated with having to explain all additional costs outside of bill.. he said we should trust him... why would we when he sent brand new un-supervised and un-trained employees to the job the first day! Trust is earned. Thinks more of his company that he does his customers... Owners own words... "We are a very selective landscaping company that does not just chase every job. We hand pick which jobs fit our model and take good care of them. We drop several clients a year who do not appreciate us as much as we feel they should. We feel it is just as much a privilege for you to be selected as a client of ours as it is for us to have the pleasure of doing work for you. It is a 2 way appreciation with neither side taking advantage of the other." In other words he wants high end clients that don't ask questions... Beware.

Response from J. Stacy Landscaping LLC
It is disheartening to receive such low scores in Quality, Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Professionalism from this client considering the email I received from her husband. Below is my email communication with this client the evening of completion: [Member name removed], I wanted to follow up with you to get your feedback on the work that was preformed yesterday as I said I would. [Member name removed] made me aware of the perennials that was stepped on and assured me that it should bounce back fine, but if it totally dies that we would replace it. He also informed me that he is going to install 2 new timers for the lighting. Once they come in I will invoice you for them separately once he installs them. Please let me know if you have any other issues that [Member name removed] may need to stop back for. Thanks for the business and I hope to continue to serve you in the future." "Jeremy, [Member name removed] makes all the difference. The work performed is one of the best jobs I've had done in the twelve years I have hired landscapers. I spoke with [Member name removed] multiple times as the work was performed. He knows his stuff. I look forward to working with you folks in the future. Yes, I did ask [Member name removed] to replace the timers in our light system. Thanks for the good work."
