 + -1 moreKen was very responsive and came over to do an estimate and we set up a schedule for him to start the work when he emailed me the estimate. One of his craftsman installed crown molding in a bedroom, and it looked so fabulous that I had it added to another bedroom, master bath and dining room a few weeks later. I also had them paint a large family room. The man than painted was so patient! He had to deal with a stone wall fireplace, beamed ceilings doors and windows. I've painted it before and said I would never do it again, now I don't have to! He did a wonderful job! The gentleman who did the crown molding was running late from another job, but Ken did call and let me know so I could let the person waiting at my home know. The different people that came over on the 3 projects were very courteous, did their work and cleaned up. I would certainly recommend them and will use them in the future.
Description of Work: Install crown molding and paint the family room.

He gave me a fair estimate for repairing mortar cracks on the house. He also sealed various openings like around the air conditioner and in the attic. Finally, he took care of a loose toilet. Everything was completed when he said he would, and I just had him out to my new house to take care of some plumbing issues.

The missed replacing one piece, but once I called them, they came back and fixed it. All people were very nice and they did a great job.

Description of Work: Ken's worker replaced an electrical wire, trimmed out a wall and added trim on the two adjacent walls. He also reset an electrical box and trimmed out the new electrical wire.

 + 0 moreHe came out right away to give us the bid. There was an issue when he didn't show up at the initial work time, but we did get that worked out. Their work was very good. They got in, and got out and were very efficient. He told us that he would have somebody go in our crawlspace to make sure there wasn't any mold damage, but that didn't end up happening. It wasn't the best but it was a good experience. The work he did is still lasting.

 + -1 moreThe overall process was as easy as pie. The attic vent was installed meticulously in the attic very quickly and carefully placed to mitigate any noise that it may generate. They also went above and beyond by removing our old satellite dish from the roof and cleaning the gutters! (neither of which was originally included in the estimate and they charged nothing more). The range fan was a little trickier because we were missing parts that were taken away by the original installers. They went to a hardware store themselves and found what they needed and came back to finish the install. They were also very careful to clean up after themselves both at the attic access and the kitchen were both thoroughly vaccuumed. Will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: They installed a powered roof vent in the attic to cool our attic down. They also vented our range outside, rather than back into the house as it had been set up by the builder. They also had to re-set the fan in the range in order for it to vent correctly.

Description of Work: They removed a gutter, replaced the wood with cement board, replaced soffit, gutter, caulked, painted two coats, and they rerouted some water that was coming down the downspout to come out above ground. They took out some of the boards of the deck to do this. It seems to have solved the problem.

 + -1 moreI was very surprised about the service from this company given the comments from other subscribers. Unfortunately, we will not be using Home Experts in the future.
Description of Work: We needed our front door and screen repaired at a rental property. I called Ken and he was very professional and we set up a time to meet. Ken was there when I arrived. I showed him the work that needed to be done. He gave me a quote that day and told me to call him if I wanted him to perform the work. I called him later that evening and agreed to the price of $235 to re-hang the door and fix the storm door. He said he would be able to perform the work on the following Wednesday. I told him how to get in the house and that I would leave payment in the mail box for him. I called the following Wednesday to see how the work went and if everything was repaired. He told me he had sent someone out Tuesday a day before we agreed and the repairmen could not get into the house. I asked him if he had called me to get in the house and he said no. He had apparently forgotten what day we agreed and how to get in the house. He said he would be back the next day to perform the work and apologized. He never came and never called.

 + 2 moreInitially I was extremely unhappy with the work they had done. The baseboard was the only thing done properly. The drains they caulked still leaked all winter long. The door that they said they fixed still will not shut. They did not return any of my calls when I was trying to get a hold of them. The owner called me after hearing about my complaint on Angie?s List. He asked why I hadn?t called them, to which I told him I had, but never got a response. He was amenable. He came back personally to correct the issues. He was very pleasant and left a nice note of apology and a list of what he had done to correct the issues.
Description of Work: They installed baseboards in a room, caulked drain gutters, and tried to fix a door that wouldn't shut.

 + -1 moreWe talked to Home Experts about this project while they were completing another project at our house. Ken not only was confident about what needed to be done, he also offered to show us an example at another house he recently completed. Their estimate was detailed and clear. They started the project when they said they would, and completed on schedule. During the project, they unexpectedly found that the concrete wall contained far more steel reinforcement than anticipated. Even though cutting through the concrete was a far larger effort than they originally anticipated, they still completed the project on time with no additional cost. (even though I offered) We will definitely use Ken and Home Experts in the future.
Description of Work: Home Experts installed an egress window in our basement. The project included cutting through a poured concrete basement wall, digging out well, building a retaining wall, and installing a wrought iron fence around the opening.
