It took 10 days to received the machine. No personal contact from the store. We purchased online but made sure it was in stock locally so we could have it quickly. But delivery was turned over to an outside vendor. We had NO contact from anyone at Home Depot. 5 days after it was finally delivered the machine stopped working. According to Home Depot, because we had it longer than 2 days, they won't work with it or honor their extended warranty because Whirlpool needs to take care of it. As of now, 12 days since the machine stopped working, we're still waiting for someone to check the machine. We're paying for professional laundry service.

They, Dan, does a very complete job. Explains everything; however, it's very clear that they have a dog/pony show that they are required to do about Home Depot as the. The 60-90 time slot turned into just in excess of 3 hours. I felt that there was no consideration for my time. And at the end, the quote was significantly higher. I felt that I didn't value for my time. I felt that this appointment was pitching Home Depot and not what I needed. While I am sure that's sure, that wasn't why I had set the appointment. We had to re-schedule the consultation, due to overbooking.

Total price should've been approximately $2000. Home depot wanted to charge $3,900. Home depot wanted to charge two times what others would charge. Salesman did not bring samples of windows. He wasted my time not bringing samples as well.
Description of Work: The quote was four double hung 3x5 Simonson 5500 windows. Windows were priced out through a distributor at $325 per window. Four windows would be $1300. Installation for the windows typically cost $150 per window times four, which is $600.

Reasonably well. Had a bit of a communications problem with the 3rd party plumber but eventually I learned where I was in the queue for replacement. Once he got there everything was done to my satisfaction and when they left the area was as clean or cleaner than before he arrived.

They were wonderful. They were efficient and very nice.
Description of Work: Bought cabinets and counter tops and had them installed by a Home Depot installer. They took out the old cabinets. They installed them in the kitchen, laundry room, computer room and half-bath. Worked with Cathy Hadley, Certified Kitchen Designer.

I didn't like the contractors that they used. They are not as amiable as other service providers and their contractors are not very professional. I've had two experiences with them now and one of my complaints to the manager was not helpful. The materials were okay. They charged too much based on the quality that I got.
Description of Work: I used this particular Home Depot when I was doing my deck. I bought some materials from them.

They sent a repair person out six times to repair my washer . They replaced the complete panel three times. I did one load of laundry after third time. It seems like the water is coming in on the spin cycle and agitating on the wash cycle. On October 30th they said they would review my case to see if I could replace the appliance and get a new machine. They said they would call within seven days. I called them today, and they said I was denied, but did not have the courtesy to call me! I asked to speak to someone who was in charge. The person I spoke with was only in charge to take complaints. I asked to speak to someone in charge who can make decisions. I was informed they do not speak to customers. I asked how to get his resolved, and was told another repairman would have to come out on Monday. This will be the 10th or 11th time they have been out since August. I cannot fault the actual repairmen because they have come out each time, however the issue is not resolved.
Description of Work: I have a washing machine that needs repaired.

For the most part it was a lot of confusion because of second and third parties. I was not even sure of who did the installation. They did not put caulking in and section of woodwork trim that was cut out and they did not even try to fix this. Two people came to do the work and it took two to three hours. I did think their pricing was good and they arrived on time.

We were unable to use her service because our contractor was going to increase the installation price if we did not use his cabinet provider.
Description of Work: We met with Joanne on several occasions to choose the cabinets that we wanted for our new basement kitchen/bar area. She helped us design a user friendly area, offering many helpful suggestions. While we were in the planning stages, she called us to remind us when prices were either going up or down in an effort for us to get the best value.

Total time 7 weeks and install still not complete ( measurement =2, laminate install attempts =2, carpet install attempts=2, carpet reorder =3) 1) Order placement: Took 10 hours of my time even when I knew which carpet and which laminate. You have to see the system to believe how it works. They have to call 800 number for any changes to the order ... and changes are caused by mistakes both at the 800 number end and the local Carmel Home Depot end. Every 800 call is like 20 minute affair. Even at the end could never get their system order (800 number) to match what he printed in the end. 2) Measurement sucks -- Came two times. First time got laminate area incorrect. Even after doing measurement as you will see later got the carpet area for order wrong. 3) Laminate install did not even have the correct quarter round length. This is most stupid. The total laminate area was like 160 sq feet. 4) Ordered more quarter rounds. They had to come second time for quarter round installs. Story gets more disgusting later 5) Came for carpet install. Brought a stinking carpet. Why would you bring a stinking carpet for install when the whole warehouse knew about the smell (confirmed later by the laminate installers and quot;we all knew it was stinkingand quot;). I refused to accept that carpet. 6) Reorder carpet. More wait 7) Came second time for carpet install. Carpet was insufficient and told me there is going to be a seam. I decided to reorder do all install at one time. Why did they not notice carpet was insufficient in 1) measurement #1 2) measurement #2 3) initial stinking carpet install ? 8) Reordered carpet. Carpet was delivered to warehouse but they noticed differences in shade so reorder again. During this whole process the expediter from home depot never bothered to call and update until stage 6 was reached above. Talked to multiple managers .. they would say they would call ... nothing later. Even talked to the store manager. It was all useless. The other thing was they did not proactively schedule the installs -- so I had to wait to schedule install at every stage after the carpet was delivered to their warehouse for installation. Then the carpet installers were booked. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and lousy customer service by Home Depot.

Ordered and paid for the doors, three months later I still don't have the doors, so I cancelled my order and got a refund. Nobody seemed to ever know the status of my doors and the whole project was grossly mismanaged.

On June 15th my husband and I went into the Home Depot and looked at the tile floor that look like would floors. We sat down with the flooring specialist and set up a time for them to come out and give us a estimate for how much it would cost to tile our whole house. The earliest day that would work for us was July 6th. That was because they gave us a time of 8am-5pm. On July 6th it turned out to be a disaster. The guy who was to come out and do the measurements called and said he wouldn't be to our house until 5pm-7pm. We agreed to that. Then after 7 he called and said he would be over in 30 minutes. Still a no show. Then I told my husband to call the store and tell them that the guy never showed and that we would want our money back. The sales guy at home depot said he would call the guy who was to measure. The guy who was to measure called us at 9pm and said that he was at another customers house and that it would be another 45min. I told my husband no that I an not having someone come out a 10pm to measure. We told the guy we want our money back and we would not be rescheduling. We didn't make the guy happy, because around 9:30pm the sales person at home depot called to see if the guy who was measuring got back to us. I thought it was nice that he was following through,but he got really nasty with us when we said that we did not want to reschedule. He said we waited 3 weeks and he kept pushing us to have our house measured on the following Monday. When we kept saying no and not listening to us, he was mad. Like my husband explained to him like the sales man had said that we ordered a measurement 3 weeks in advance, because of that day they kept telling us that they had a bunch of add ons. My husband said to him if we ordered 3 weeks in advance that we should have been close to the earliest appointments. This was the worst experience that I have experienced from a company. I don't even want to do business ever again with Home Depot. The deposit was given in an in store refund. So I need to buy one more thing from them. I believe that the guy who was to measure never was measuring homes that day. That he must have wanted to take the day off. Who comes out that late to someones house. I think he wanted us to reschedule. That was a whole waste of our day to sit around and have a man keep giving you a time that he would be here and never show up.

I was impressed with the installers they started working at 9:00 AM and worked until 10:00 PM that night. The bathrooms have many angles and that took time to cut and measure the vinyl. They took off briefly for lunch once they spread out the floor leveling compound (it takes time to dry) but otherwise worked constantly. Quality of work is great I would recommend them to others. They did spill a bottle of detergent on the floor and offered to pay for it, but I figured I was the idiot for not having in a safer location so I declined their offer. I will definitely go back to Home Depot and their installers when I need carpeting.
Description of Work: Removed the existing vinyl flooring in the 2 bathrooms and laundry area and removed carpeting in the hallway and replaced with new vinyl sheet flooring.

They arrived a little late, but quickly removed the old unit and installed the new one, all in about 1 hour. Very professional installers. They did a very high quality installation and cleaned up everything very well. I would use them again. The price for the water heater was better than other places I checked.

This is a 3 part story. First to be done was the flooring. Carpet was ripped up and we were told that slab holes and dips needed to be filled in. Next day crew came back and filled in depressions. Day after they came back to lay flooring and discovered that when flooring was delivered 22 boxes were missing. Store could not locate missing boxes and did not initially have a Plan B to replace - since timing was getting critical due to furniture move in date. After calls to other stores and manufacturer a rush order of matching flooring was delivered - day before scheduled furniture moving date - and too late to install that day. Call to Two Guys and a Truck movers delayed furniture one day. Install crew from Home Depot came out and worked their rear ends off to get flooring installed. Extremely professional and worked past normal quitting time to get it done correctly. Job completed. Great install crew. Home Depot made it right. Next was referigerator and microwave. Old were removed and new installed without problems and very professionally. Countertops were next. Again, crew showed up on time and completed work very professionally and ahead of time estimate. Home Depot was not able to discover what happened to missing flooring. But they made it right.
Description of Work: We had old carpeting pulled up and new Pergo flooring installed in 1/2 of floor space in condo. then we had old referigerator and microwave removed and replaced with new ones. And finally we had old counter tops removed and new solid surface Staron installed.

I purchased a door from them I did not consent to multiple calls each day in an attempt to sell me home improvement items. They literally call 1-3 times a day with an automated service asking me to stay on the line to talk about home improvement. I contacted their corporate number and asked to speak with a supervisor. They refused engaging in stall tactics and asking for additional personal information after I gave them my name and the reason for my call. They have violated the and quot;do not call listand quot; and a complaint has been filed with the State Attorney General's office. Do not give these people your number or home address unless you want sales attempts. The guy selling the door was a manager and did a good job. I will not go back due to the repeated sales calls.

We were extremely pleased with the entire interaction with Home Depot. There were no surprises, which we always appreciate. All of the staff sales/measurement/installation were very professional and on time. The room looks great. Something that I should mention to Angie's List members is that it appears that the Home Depot contractors are referred to as Crew # ( in our case Crew 2). I mention this because earlier this year we went to Home Depot to look into a bathroom remodeling project. We scheduled a consultation at Home Depot and were contacted by phone by someone that identified herself as Crew 2. As always, we went to Angie's List first on-line and the by phone to inquire about a company named Crew 2. Obviously we could find no information and therefore, cancelled the appointment. We have since used another firm for the bathroom. Now we know. We certainly will consider Home Depot for future projects.
Description of Work: We had one room in which we needed to have the carpet replaced due to wear. We went to Home Depot for advice. Steven Weinberg helped us decide between laminate and carpet. We chose carpet, he helped us select the padding and scheduled measurement. MeasureCorp came for measurement and then Home Depot Crew 2 came for installation. The old carpet and padding were removed and disposed of by Crew 2 ($73.20) and the new padding and carpet were installed (26.33 sq. yds). Roberto was the Crew 2 member that completed the work. Roberto was very careful in removing and replacing several heavy pieces of furniture in the room($48.00). Lastly, he vacuumed the new carpet so the room was ready for occupancy.

Lousy. It is now 5/6/2012 and I still don't have it back nor does anyone know much about it. I contacted the store via phone on 4/31 (?) and was told I should hear something within a couple of days. On 5/4 I went in person to the store and talked with the assistant manager. He made a copy of the work order and said he would call me and also have the repair department call me. I received 4-5 calls from the assistant manager asking if I had heard from the repair department. The answer was "NO" every time he called. His last call said he would have to wait til Monday to contact anyone else. He also informed me that parts had been ordered and were not in yet. I was told when I originally took it in for repair that I would be contacted with an estimate for the cost of repair before the repair was made. I received no such call but they were proceeding with repair any way. The time involved, the treatment I received from the personnel Home Depot, etc.will make me vow to never again set foot inside one of their stores.
Description of Work: Have a gas powered weed eater that appeared to have a broken recoil.Took it in to get repair estimate.
