Beware of High Prices and Company Changes – Not the Hamilton Garage Doors of the Past! I recently reached out to what I thought was Hamilton Garage Doors, a company I had a fantastic experience with a few years ago, only to discover they’ve been acquired by A1 Garage Door Service in 2023 and are now operating under the name Don’s Garage Doors. Unfortunately, this change in ownership came with some surprising new practices and much higher prices. Based on Hamilton’s past five-star reputation on Angie’s List, I expected fair pricing and quality service. Don's Garage Door's quote was over ten times what I paid Hamilton for similar services in 2016. They also pushed a monthly membership, which was another unexpected change. Any five-star reviews for Hamilton Garage Doors before February 2023 should not be confused with Don’s Garage Doors, as they’re essentially different companies now. I recommend getting multiple quotes before agreeing to any repairs to ensure you’re not overpaying.

Everything was stress free from initial estimate to installation. Price was competitive. Price wasn't the only reason I hired Hamilton Garage Door. It was Matt's professionalism, experience, thoroughness of what they would do, and honest suggestions. The install was efficient and professional. I would not hesitate in hiring them again for anything related to garage doors.

Great! They came out the same day and it took them less than 30 minutes to do the repair. They also improved the lower limit on the door and oiled all of the wheels to quiet down any squeaks. This is my 3rd time using these guys and I truly feel they are the best garage door company in town.

Mike Laney from Hamilton Garage Door, Inc. came out on the same day that I called. He repaired our broken door and even tuned the other two, explaining what he was doing, what had happened and what he was doing to ensure that it didn't happen to the door again. He was so helpful with his explanations, polite and the price was very reasonable. Very impressive service. I would highly recommend this company.

Called in morning and they were able to be out same day. Immediately diagnosed the issue and had it repaired in an hour. Called ahead to said they were running a little late. Great job all around.

I emailed them requesting a quote for a new garage door after hours and Mike texted me back within an hour and scheduled a visit the next morning. After an inspection, he recommended replacing the damaged top panel instead of replacing the entire garage door. Three hours later he had picked up the parts, finished the repair and was gone! I didn't know repair was an option and he could have easily quoted the full replacement I'd asked for, but he didn't. Such integrity is as refreshing as it is welcome. The level of service was equally excellent. Before he left, Mike made suggestions for keeping the door in good repair, namely routine lubrication.

Very well. We were very please with Mike at Hamilton Grage Door. He showed me the gear that broke. He also sprayed lubricant on the moving parts of the door. The door is now very function like a new door going up and dpwn.

After speaking on the phone with the owner and selecting which opener would work for me, I scheduled for Friday and Cy came out to install. He called to ask if he could come earlier than expected (Yes!). He arrived and quickly, efficiently replaced my opener. I felt he was courteous and professional. I felt the price was reasonable. I received a non wifi opener, 1/5 HP Linear Belt (vs Chain), with 1 opener, inside panel, and outside keyless entry. I have a single door (Condo). It is much quieter than the chain garage door opener. Cy even sprayed some oil? on my moving garage door parts to help quiet some squeaks.

They came out and determined the issue and repaired it. They were timely and efficient

I submitted my request Sunday night. Hamilton Garage Doors called when they first opened Monday morning. After picking an option out of several given over the phone, they arrived a couple hours later to do the installation (Liftmaster Operator, wall panel, and outdoor panel). The technician was able to get it all done in about an hour.

Could not have asked for better responsive service

Did a great job. Called on a Saturday morning at 8:30 am. They came over within an hour and were finished within a half hour of starting the job. Great service and a fair price.

Upon arriving home I discovered that my garage door would not operate due to a broken spring. I immediately logged into Angie's list and asked for quotes from four contractors. Hamilton called back immediately, gave me a preliminary price over the phone, and had a technician at my door within 15 minutes. The job was completed quickly and at a price I felt was fair. He even adjusted the closing position of the door to effect a better seal at the bottom of the door. From the time I discovered the problem until it was fixed and paid for could not have been more than an hour and a half. I was very impressed and happy with the work!

On time (actually early). Replace the springs and calibrated with no issues and quickly.
