+ -1 moreAfter speaking to Duane on phone, I scheduled the installation of a new garage door opener and an external keypad. Duane and his son arrived promptly for the job, ready to work. They removed the old opener, installed the new opener, tested it, and described all of its functions to me. They noticed that the spring on my door was squeaking, and they took care of that problem, too! They performed a quality job, and I HIGHLY recommend them.

+ -1 moreAs mentioned above, everything went very well. If he didn't answer the phone when you first called, he quickly returned your phone call if you left a message. Out of the three different trips he's made to our house we were only home for the first one, and really, I probably didn't need to be. He's affordable, reliable, and does good work, you can't ask for much more than that.
Description of Work: I've actually done business with Hamilton Garage Door twice now, but the first time was over a year ago and I forgot to do a report. Regardless, both times were excellent. The first time our door quit working because the spring broke (I forget the price, but it was on par with what other reviews of Hamilton Garage Door are quoting for that service. That was a straightforward fix (though I also asked him to give the whole system a "tune-up" as it surely needed lubricated and what not. This was very reasonable (I'm not even sure if he charged extra for it). At the same time, I was having issues programming the keypad entry, one regular remote, and the remote built into my car. I could only get any combination of two of the three to work correctly. Turns out the control board was going bad. He quoted that at $75 for the part plus installation but told me it was easy to do and that I could save money by just buying the part at Sears ($50) and replacing it myself--he even gave me the part number. You don't see this often and that impressed me. I checked with Sears and they actually wanted $75 for the part, so I called him back and just asked him to replace it himself. He came back the next day and fixed that for us and didn't even require us to be home. Finally, on to the most recent work. This time the door just quit working altogether. Turns out the teeth in the "gearbox" (for lack of the proper term I'm sure) were completely worn down. Again, we just left the door unlocked and he fixed it while we were at work. We came home and the old part and bill were in the garage. Excellent service again.

Duane, the owner, new exactly what was wrong. He came out the same day that I called, brougt the right parts and quickly replaced the gear package in the opener. He had a great attitude and was very friendly.

He told me the name of the gentleman coming to do the repair, the estimated time to arrive and complete the work. They even fixed our light socket and replaced my light bulb at no charge. If I ever need work on my garage door again, I will call them for repair or replacement. Wonderful experience.

We had a crew coming in two days to start painting and wanted the garage doors to be painted as well to match the house. Lucky for us Hamilton Garage doors was able to fit us in their schedule and replace our garage doors. The owner, Duane was very nice and the crew who did the work took their time and did a good job. Our new garage doors are insulated so we can already see a difference with the garage being warmer than our previous wood doors.

My frustrations with the work were as follows: - There was overspray on the garage walls from the WD-40 that he was using to spray the tracks and springs. Having spent hours painting the garage over the summer, I wasn't pleased with this aspect. I think some additional care could have easily prevented this. - We had some coats hanging near the garage doore. When removing the bar that the springs rest on, the bar slipped down, rubbing one of the coats leaving a grease stain that ruined the coat. Again, this is something that could have been prevented. Duane is prompt with his service. He was a nice guy. My experience would have received higher marks had he been a bit more careful when making the repairs.

+ -1 moreAs long as I have garage doors, I won't consider using anyone other than Hamilton Garage Doors. What a find! I was prepared to buy at least one new opener, but Duane said emphatically that it wasn't necessary. He was right!
Description of Work: Both garage door openers stopped working within the same week. Mr. Keller thoroughly checked them out, replaced parts as needs (which he had on his truck) and left me with doors fully operational.

+ -1 moreCalled the contractor at 10:45 AM on Monday 11/23/09 to request service to replace a broken spring ( I had used this contractor before with good results so I did not seek any other quotes/estimates). Mr Kellar stated he would be able to do the repair the same day and gave me a price of $128.15. Mr. Keller called back within 15 minutes stating he was on his way to my house. I met Mr. Kellar at my house and the repair was completed in less than 30 minutes at the $128.15 price. I was very pleased with the prompt, courteous service - I will definitely use this contractor again. I would highly recommend this contractor.

+ -1 moreWhen ever I have a problem with my garage door I always call Hamilton Garage Door and this situation was no different. My garage door spring broke early in the morning which prompted a call to Mr. Duane Keller. He told me that they would take care of my problem that day however they would not arrive until later that afternoon. I told Mr. Keller that I would leave my garage door open for his assistant, but he needed to make sure that the door was put down afterward because my husband and I were both going out of town. What makes this situation so incredible is that when I called Mr.Keller to make sure that my garage door was closed he was in front of my house double checking for himself. Why this is something is that Mr. Keller had just had surgury several days before and was not feeling well at all, but he made a trip from Carmel to my home in Zionsville to make sure that everything was done right.
Description of Work: Hamilton Garage Door replaced both springs for my garage door and replaced the rubber seal on the bottom of the garage door.
