Lawn Irrigation, Lawn and Yard Work, Home Security Systems,

About us

The business is owned and operated by an IFD Firefighter. GO Irrigation consists of 6 full time employees based out of Hamilton County. We also operate in counties outside of Hamilton county. We pride ourselves on prompt service turnaround from the time you call us to the time we can arrive on site. We do not charge a travel expense based on where you live, but service charge may apply based on type of service provided. If you do not have an existing irrigation system and are interested in getting an installation, we provide a free quote to every customer. Our type of system is unique and sets us apart from our competition, because we provide a "self draining system." This means there is no need for us to winterize your new system in the fall, or start it up in the spring. By choosing to have a self draining system, start up and winterization can easily be done by the customer in a matter of minutes. Free of charge after the installation we will walk you through exactly how to properly manage your irrigation system. We only provide the top of the line commercial grade Rainbird parts throughout our system that come with a 5 year warranty on all parts, as well as a 1 year warranty on all labor performed on site. The work was done timely and seems to be correct. But when they were finished, I found out they will not accept credit cards. Then when reviewing the emailed receipt, I discovered the trip charge was $95 when the owner had told me it was $75. When I asked him about this, he said he didn't know I was so far away. Yet the very first question he asked when I called to schedule the job was where I lived. He apologized and said he would give me a $20 credit on future services. I don't think we have a future together.

We had GO Irrigation install our system last summer. Things were a bit rocky from the start. After confirming a time for him to come by for an estimate after work, he didn't show and we had to reschedule. Despite this, we selected him out of several companies in the area as the system he proposed was a Rain Bird system that was fairly priced compared to the other companies I had contacted. He also touted their system as self draining, which meant I could shut the system down each fall without having to pay someone else to do it every year. After selecting GO Irrigation, scheduling and communication started to be hit or miss. We scheduled install date about a month out from when we accepted their bid, and I made arrangements to work from home so I could be there when they needed access to the garage to install the controller. The scheduled date came, and they never showed. After waiting at home for him and his crew to show up, I finally got in contact with Gil about half way through the day, he apologized and said they were running behind on their previous jobs due to the heat. He said he would knock off some of the price (about 10%) and committed to the install the following week. The following week came, and there was yet another delay, again attributed to his crew having to deal with the heat of the summer. When they finally did get to our installation, he showed up at our home the afternoon before the scheduled install to run the lines through the yard. The machine he used ended up leaving oil spots and gouges on our driveway and sidewalk. They did not put any kind of grass seed over the areas where the lines were pulled, and here we are a year later and they are still bald areas all over our yard from them. The crew showed up the following day (mostly college aged kids, no Gil in sight) and went to work on the install. After the install was complete, his crew walked me through the operation of the system, which is a great system and fully automated. They said they would be back in the fall to show me how to shut down the system for the winter. I later noticed the valve box they installed in the back yard was in the ground crooked, and they assured me as it settled it would straighten out. Unfortunately, we still have a crooked box in the ground in our back yard. Winter shut down went relatively smoothly, with some scheduling and communication issues that I had become accustomed to with Gil at this point. This May, around the time the backflow test was needed and after several rounds of rain I happened to notice the ground around the valve box in the back yard was very wet. I pulled the cover and found the box completely filled with water. I reached out to Gil to see if this was normal, he assured me it was covered under our warranty and he sent one of his guys to check it out. Apparently, while he was checking it out one of the pieces broke, so a replacement had to be ordered. Same song, different verse. After several delays they were finally able to get the repair completed about a week later. However, the valve box was still full of water a month later and I reached out to Gil to make sure there wasn't a leak or anything else wrong with the system. He sent his guys out a second time, and after draining the box they said it was just ground water and charged me a $100 service call fee. All in all, the system itself is great. The communication and service from the team at GO Irrigation leaves a lot to be desired.

We had been looking for an irrigation system and we’re planning on the install in the Spring. We were trying to get quotes before Christmas so we could reserve an installation date next year. Some companies were already booking out to summer! I sent a web request for a quote and I received a call back about thirty minutes later! We talked about dates in the coming week and I wasn’t going to be around much. Gil said he was right down the street finishing up one job and said he could come by for a quote now if that was alright. He stopped by, explained his system (he installs self-draining, which as a DIY oriented person, I liked so I don’t have to rely on a company to shut it down each year), and provided a quote on the spot. Then, he said that due to the unseasonably warm weather he was still doing installs. I booked with him the following week. Gil showed up the next week as scheduled with his team. Most of which have been there for a couple years and are college aged men and their brothers or friends have worked for Gil. Gil was on-site and oversaw the entire install, teaching the trade and supervising. He walked me through the install and how the system works and then showed me how to shut it down. I’m the spring, he’ll come out, show me how to start the system up, and fine tune any adjustments. Very impressed with his responsiveness and professionalism. Highly recommend!

A group of youngsters showed up at door and was attracted to the backyard. Lead man later told new back flow valve was needed for $450. New installed valve leaked and they had to come back to fix after phone calls and no-shows. When questioned, owner called back full of threatening and F-words.

Called and said they'd be an hour late. 1.5 hours later they had still not come. I called and left 2 messages, after that the voice mailbox was full. Tried texting and got no response. Finally got them to answer by using a different phone. They were obviously avoiding my calls. They finally came 4 hours late. This is unacceptable unless an emergency was communicated. No communication at all. This is not the first time they have been late and each year we have used them we have had to call them to see why they haven't scheduled the system start up.

I thought I needed a sprinkler head adjusted. Gil said I had the wrong sprinkler head (it was new last fall and had never been adjusted) and he replaced it with the right one, then adjusted it. He then made sure the other heads were properly adjusted. I called this morning, he came this evening. There were 3 of them (!) and they seemed to enjoy working together, which made me smile. They did the job quickly, then tested it to make sure it was working correctly. It could not have gone better.

You can call and get a human being. They give you a date, and they are here. They look clean. They know what they are doing. So far I have been pleased. Whether they are the cheapest one on the block, I do not know. Probably not. When you try to schedule these appointments, and they don't show up, or turn in paperwork for the back flow one time. That behavior is not except-able. They have done great work. They are capable, they are on time, and they are in and out. That is what you look for in irrigation services. On the pricing thing, your best bet is to call them. I think it was hundred to ninety for the fall shut down. It was pretty consistent. We went with the cheaper company one time,, and we were very disappointed.
Description of Work: They turned on and off, and repaired my lawn irrigation system. They turned on the system. They had the spring opening. They did the start up. Checked the back up flow valve. They repaired three heads that were cracked.

The name of the guy who runs it is Gil O?Bryan, I believe. They are the third ones. We originally had a different company, and we were not getting real good service out of them and they kept raising their prices. Then we had Matt Irrigation, and he was not dependable. Then I think I found GO Irrigation on Angie?s List.?They have a flat fee which is for, once for the start up in the spring and then the close down. The spring is a little bit more expensive because they have to do the back-flow check. I don?t know the exact number. One is like $100 or something like that for their initial startup and then it?s like $90 for the fall close down and blow out. Then of course if you have anything that has to be repaired or anything like that, that?s an add on charge.?I am guessing on the prices, so I don?t want to be quoted on the actually cost. The thing that is important to me is that you can call, and you can get a human being on the line. They give you a date and they?re there. They come in, they look clean, they know what they?re doing and so far, I?ve been pleased. Whether they're the cheapest ones on the block, I don?t know, probably not.?When you try to schedule these appointments and they don?t show, or we have one that didn?t turn in the paper work for the back flow one time, that kind of behavior is not acceptable. With any outfit, I am speaking polite until they screw up. I can?t fault them in any way, they?ve done great work.?They seem to be capable, they?re on time, they do what they say they are going to do. and they?re in and out.?That?s what you should expect from an irrigation service. If I remember right, the price was pretty consistent. You could probably find people cheaper, but we went with a cheaper guy one time and willfully disappointed.
Description of Work: I use them to turn on, turn off and repair my lawn irrigation system, sprinkler system. They turned on the system in the spring here. I think we’ve had them now for over a year. I think the fall was $90ish, if I can remember. It’s fairly simple for them, that’s why they don’t charge as much. Most of their expense, I think is just coming out to do it, and they have to bring a trailer that has the big compressor on it. Generally, irrigation companies don’t do a lot of repairs in the fall. For the very reason is that they don’t want to let the stuff sit there for the winter. When you start needing it again and they turn it on, that’s when it’s the time to fix everything up and make sure everything is working right. The number one reason I would recommend them is because of the reliability, the punctuality and the professionalism. You just get on the schedule, they come out and they do it.
Description of Work: They did the close down. When they come out in the fall, they bring a compressor and they blow out all the lines. They get all the underground plumbing cleared of water, so it won’t burst over the winter. Then they shut down the electronics.

I failed to properly winterize my sprinkler system (did not fully shut off the water) which resulted in water freezing on the pressure vacuum breaker in December 2016. When I noticed that ice had formed on the PVB. I called Gil and informed him of the problem. He came out the next day and took the time to show me the step that I missed to fully shut off the water. Gil then proceeded to shut the water off and to remove the damaged breaker. He returned on March 21 when the weather was warmer and installed a new Wilkins 720A Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB) and he also registered the new PVB with the Indianapolis Water Company.

They were a little late arriving which was due to their previous service call running a little long. No problem - I wasn't busy so it didn't hurt to wait a little while. They performed the service I requested quickly, professionally, and in a friendly manner. They are to call ME in the spring to set up activation for next year which is unusual - usually the customer has to call to schedule. All in all I would say that GO Irrigation is a fine company which is well run and does good work at a reasonable price.

I think GO irrigation is professional, arrived in a beautifully advertised truck, and probably equally as good as any irrigation service offered and definitely worth a call to get your irrigation needs completed. This review is only my experience and probably just an example of having too high of expectations from the service providers I hire. We recently moved into a 1 year old home with irrigation. I found Gil on Angie's list and had him come out and open my system and perform the back flow check in the spring. Gil spent time reviewing my system and concluded that the equipment the installer used may not have been the best option for residences. Gil also listened to different issues I had with sprinklers having to be relocated and made fair recommendations. On Monday, Nov 2, 2:41 pm I texted Gil to schedule when my system could be winterized. He immediately replied and stated he would call to schedule. Contacting and communicating with Gil was always easy which is important to me. On Wednesday, Nov 18, 1:21 pm Gil left a voicemail indicating he would be in the area between 2-4 pm on Friday Nov 20th. I texted him back and said between 2 and 4 would not work well but anytime before 2 or after 4 would be the only time I would be available. Just after 4 I texted Gil and he said he was running late and he asked me if 5:30 or 6 would work. I replied the new time would be fine. Gil arrived when he said he would. During the winterization process, 4 sprinkler heads blew out of the ground. Gil stated he had serviced hundreds of systems and had never seen that before. Gil viewed the heads and stated they were older and outdated and I probably had a bad seal even though one head seemed intact. Gil was quick to suggest he could make the repair for $35 each. He said the repair could happen now or in the spring. I told Gil I would wait until spring and that I might compare prices on the damaged heads. Again Gil was quick to state if I found them elsewhere and wanted him to install them it would be $10 each. My disappointment is I didn't feel like Gil really investigated the root cause as to why these 4 heads blew out of the ground and felt he was more interested in profiting on a small repair than having an annual partnership. The environment of feeling like the last customer he hurriedly serviced for the day, holding 4 faulty sprinkler heads while my winterization was being completed in the dark, probably contributed to my feeling of just being another opportunity to make a buck. Gil has hundreds of satisfied customers so this review is more a reflection of my experience and expectations than GO Irrigation failing to provide a service for your irrigation needs. My search for an irrigation service partnership continues and I wish GO irrigation the best.

It went very well, and he brought his whole crew! He mentioned that this is a new name for his company, and that our prices wouldn't change over time! He is very conscious of any requests for re-aiming sprinkler heads, and replaced one that I had damaged with a lawn edging machine. The whole team are firemen from the house near 86 and Michigan, and they look sharp and alert, and really want to keep doing the job! I am happy to be one of their recipients.

Gil was supposed to arrive at 5pm to provide an estimate. By 5:30 I had not heard from him so I called. He said he was running late and would be there in 30 min. I told him I had an appointment and had to leave by 7:00pm. He arrived at 6:45 and I showed him the trouble spots, asked for him to leave me a written estimate and I left. When I got home, the estimate he left was for $825 and involved replacing a lot of the sprinkler heads and putting in new ones. Our system is old, but I've had it serviced annually and this work had not been recommended previously. I got a second estimate that proposed far less less replacement, and was for less than $400. I called Gil back to give him a chance to walk me through what he wanted to do so that I could understand if the work was really required, or if some of it was more than we needed right now. We made an appointment for 5:00pm. He called and asked if he could move it to 4:00pm and we said OK. I had to make some changes on my schedule to accommodate his request. By 4:30 he was not here and I called him. He was at least 30 minutes away so I cancelled the appointment. He should not have changed the appointment time to suit his schedule when he wasn't going to be here before the original time. As a result, I had cancelled somethings I needed to do needlessly. In both cases, he should have called me to let me know he was running late, but I had to call him. I believe his proposal was an opportunity to "over sell" so we would not use him again.

Wow, are these guys good. I called on a Wednesday, and they were here on Thursday. They completely reworked my existing system, with all new hardware, control box, rain sensor, and backflow valve. Maybe six people came, and they really went to work. Our system was a frustration, mainly because of a very poor installation by the original builder, but these guys corrected EVERYTHING. I now have a very capable, modern system. Gil and his crew work very hard, but he stayed behind at the end to go through the control box with me, making sure that I knew all of its functions. They're firefighters in their other profession, and great people to deal with!
