Work was efficient (total service call lasted only ten minutes), but half page Yellow Pages ad implies local business when it's really an out of town dispatcher. Promised 30-45 minute wait time which actually was 70. Received 5% discount when I complained about a $49 trip charge PLUS a $59 labor charge. Not very professional outfit, but we did get back into our home 85 minutes after calling. If only the locksmith ads in the Yellow Pages displayed AL Super Service award winners (we could not contact AL online or by phone for a referral.) Overall rating reflects the fact that we badly needed the service and the service WAS provided efficiently.
Description of Work: Unlocked house (doorknob lock only, not a deadbolt) when we locked ourselves out.

I CALLED GATEWAY AT 8:00, THEY PROMISED TO HAVE SOMEONE ARRIVE BY 11:00, AND THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED AT 9:30. A PIECE WAS BROKEN IN THE IGNITION, SO THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO GO TO A CAR DEALER TO GET A REPLACEMENT. TOOK THE TIME TO CHANGE THE IGNITION LOCK SO WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO USE AN ADDITIONAL KEY.
Description of Work: REPLACED BROKEN IGNITION IN A PICK-UP TRUCK.

I FINALLY CANCELLED MY SERVICE CALL AS IT WAS COLD, DARK AND I WANTED IN MY HOME. I THEN GOT A LOCAL LOCKSMITH WHO WAS THERE IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES, TOOK CARE OF THE JOB AND CHARGED ME $25 LESS THAN GATEWAY QUOTED OVER THE PHONE.
Description of Work: I CALLED DUE TO THE LARGE AD IN THE YELLOW PAGES CALLING THEM "INDIANAPOLIS'' PREMIER LOCKSMITH". I WAITED OVER 3 HOURS FOR THE SERVICE & NO ONE SHOWED UP. I LATER FOUND THAT THEY ARE LOCATED IN CHICAGO AND TRY TO FIND LOCAL LOCKSMITHS TO DO EACH JOB AS IT IS CALLED IN. THEY DON''T LET YOU KNOW THIS UPFRONT AND LIE TO YOU BY TELLING YOU SOMEONE IS COMING WHEN, IN FACT, THEY HAVE NO ONE ON THE WAY.
