FLOORS SQUARED

They did an excellent job but one of the lines has grout that is cracking. The floor is covered for 5 years but I have been unable to get in touch with him so I fear that he has gone out of business. The floor is beautiful but there is a spot that needs to addressed but honestly the follow up has not been easy.

I used Floors Squared previously and they did a great job at a fair price. I wanted to hire them for a new job and it has been difficult working with them for an estimate. For example, they wanted to charge a $25 measuring fee which they didn't ask for on the last job and the other companies I'm checking with haven't asked for. They insisted I had to pick out a tile before they could estimate, so I did, then they said the estimate was $9.50/sq. ft. but didn't say whether that was including an underlayment, grout, and tile or if it was just labor and the estimate wasn't written up which concerned me. I decided today to go to the store in person and work things out myself. I checked their website at http://www.flrsqd.com/ and it is down - I get a generic Network Solutions page. I tried to call the number Angie's list has, 557-8874 and that is answered by what I think is someone's personal voice mail but the audio quality is so bad I can't be sure. I finally found the store number 578-4100 on Google Maps and called, the recording said they were open today. I went to the store and there is a sign up "Temporarily closed please contact Lohr Management 205-1200" so I called there. That is a property management company. I suspect they have gone out of business, and didn't make any arrangements to transition their customers to another company.

Called Floors Squared seeking an estimate for hardwood flooring. The sales rep insisted that they could beat any estimate. We went to the show room and found flooring similar to what we had seen in at another vendor and explained that we wanted to get a quote by a specific date. She made an appointment for the installer to come measure the room and create an estimate. He showed up on time and did his work quickly, then left. We did not hear back from FSI until almost a week after the deadline had provided and the prices was 50% higher than our other supplier.

They did a nice job. They had a good selection of the laminate flooring. They were patient while we looked through everything and took time to go over it. The installer did a good job - I haven't had any difficulties so far and it looks good. The job didn't take long at all and he laid the panels in a direction that was very attractive. It was a little on the expensive side.

We are having some problems with bowing and separation of some of the planks. We would like to for them to come out and look at it. I've contacted them a total of five times - three by way of office secretary and two by direct messages on the owner's cell phone. I've been trying to contact the company for the last three weeks and still haven't heard anything back from them.

They were prompt and professional. Their prices were comparable to others.

We were in desperate need of help. What started out as a do-it-yourself job turned out that we needed help because we were running out of time (party was 10 days out). I called Mike and told him the time constraint I was under. He gave me an estimate and agreed to do the work. He originally scheduled it a week out, but when he had a cancellation, he called right away and was able to do it within a couple of days. He even worked around the trim installer we already had scheduled. He was professional, punctual, knowledgeable (told us we didn't really need the more expensive grout, saving us over $100), and very friendly. He did such a good job on our tile, we asked for an estimate on wood flooring. What a great experience with a contractor!!!

Mike, the owner, came to our house to measure and help us decide which laminate floor would match our existing cabinets. He was very punctual and called before coming. He answered our questions and had an estimate the next day. I stopped by the store and he had picked out a beautiful floor that really complemented our existing decor. Mike and the woman working in the store were very helpful. Mike tried to bring down the price but we decided to buy from the internet and install ourselves, but I would definitely recommend Floors Squared and would hesitate to use them in the future.

I called them a couple times. He said the first time he was misinformed by the person who did the scheduling. The second time he set up an appointment, he said he had a job downtown and he would stop by if he could. He has never called me back or come out to give an estimate since that second time we spoke.

It went great. Michael worked with me at all steps and when he came out to do the measurements he spent some time with me picking out the best matching flooring for my space. He and one other guy came within a week and took 1 and 1/2 days to get the job finished. Everything looks great!

Basically it was a pretty good job. We had no problems with the company, and we were pleased with the flooring in the end. The pricing seemed fine in comparison to a few other estimates we had.

After looking at a number of stores for hardwood to match what is in my home I contacted Bruce Flooring. They sent me a list of local dealers who could special order the correct flooring for me. I narrowed the list down to the two dealers who are on Angie's List. The first dealer was less than enthusiastic about the special order, Floors Squared general manager, Katy, was the exact opposite. Owner, Mycal, checked the specific color and grade to a small scrap I had. Mycal came out to measure then ordered the flooring. The Angie's List discount he applied was an added bonus. Mycal and his team installed the floor and shoe molding in about 4 hours. The new flooring butted up to old flooring but the joints are so smooth you'd never know one side was five years older than the other. I was amazed at how clean they left the job site. Floors Squared owner Mycal and his general manager Katy have been a real pleasure to work with.

Great. I started the project myself and quickly realized that I was in over my head. Mike came by on a Sunday afternoon, assessed what it would take to correct and returned the next week to finish the job. We found his attention to detail, focus on doing the job right, responsiveness and flexibility to be exceptional! We are very happy with how our new floor looks.

The floors were refinished badly by another company. On a short notice the team came in and sanded, stained and applied 3 coats of polyurethane. It took longer than expected due to the prior flooring company's work.

We met Mike at the Home Show and as soon as we saw the Angie's List Super award, we felt at ease. Mike came to our home a couple of different times to take measurements and bring samples for us to choose from. I went to their store to ask additional questions and Katy was very personable and helpful with her assistance. In a four day time frame, Terry and Mike were able to remove all of our existing carpet and install the hardwood laminate flooring. They were all very professional and a joy to work with. We will have them back to do tile work in the future.

Met with Katie in the showroom, who was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful in assisting my wife and I choose some hardwood samples within our budget constraints for the project. Then met with Mike, the owner, at our house for measurements. He was prompt, courteous, and thoroughly answered any and all of my questions. It turned out that we wanted to go with a hardwood product that he didn't normally stock, but he had no problem ordering and working with it, and we were able to schedule the installation within a couple weeks. They also allowed us to pick up the primed shoe molding a week prior to the install so we could paint it to match our existing trim. Mike, also the installer, did an EXCELLENT job. Again, he was prompt, courteous, and he and his partner finished the project in exactly the amount of time he estimated (1.5 days). They even did a great job cleaning up between day 1 and day 2. High quality work and a high quality experience.
