Duncan Appliance Service

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have used Duncan Appliance for various services including washer/dryer as well as my garage and in-home fridge. Steve has come out each time and is always prompt, courteous, and is a straight shooter when it comes to repair advice. This time I left a message over the weekend, was called back on Monday, and Steve was here first thing on Tuesday. I knew my refrigerator problem was probably caused by a $40 start relay or $350 compressor failure which I really wouldn't have known the difference and would just have to trust the advice from the repairman. Steve replaced the start relay and told me i was good to go. He even vacuumed the coils and fan. I prefer to use local, trustworthy companies, and this is exactly what you get with Duncan Appliance and Steve Duncan in particular. I have recommended him to my family and friends who have also used their services. You might be able to find a slightly cheaper service call price somewhere else, but for me, a few extra bucks is worth the piece of mind and honest service you get with Duncan.

After waiting two weeks to get someone out to repair my washing machine they said I had an internal hose that leaked . The repairman seemed very confused about the part number, but told me he would get back to me the next day ( Saturday) and he needed a deposit. No word Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. So, just before close of business on Tuesday I called. Someone named Sean answered the phone and said she had to look up something and would get back to me the next day. I told her to go ahead and leave a message on my recorder. No message was left so , I called again just before closing. she had to look something up again and came back and said, they didn't know when the part would be in , but they would call when they got it. I questioned their customer service and the lady was very put out and replied they were at the mercy of the supplier. I pointed out that the supplier was not responsible for communication with the customer and she clearly didn't get it.

The service turned out great, I have no complaints.

Although Steve was running behind, he came to our house to complete the job on the day he promised at 6 pm on a Friday night. The labor parts and service call were very reasonable. Steve talked me through the difference between repairing the machine or replacing it. I will absolutely use Duncan Appliance Service again.

He dropped off a new knob the next day. He is always on time, and he saves me money whenever he can. We have used him for many years. Steve, the owner, is very dependable.

They are consistently on time and save you money. They are great.

Original problem noticed was rust colored water in the evaporator tray. A Plumber advised me to contact an appliance repair person. On Monday 06/23/14 I called Duncan Appliance after reviewing comments and left a voice mail that it was not an emergency, and anytime would be ok to call and schedule. I thought that the original call back to me might be sooner than Thursday late afternoon 06/26/14 to let me know that they were busy. Kathy was very apologetic as soon as I picked up the phone, and let me know that they indeed did have a rush of leaking appliances that needed priority attention. I am glad they did those first. I'm confident that they will do the same for me in the future. Tony came to the house as scheduled and in checking the problem found that the Ice Maker I had replaced in February of 2002 had lost the Teflon in the cube tray and should be replaced. Fortunately he had one on the truck and, and gave me a good price on it. He replaced the water line and the rusting coupling on the back of the refrigerator. He then pulled the back panel out of the inside of the freezer to see why rusty water was coming into the evaporator tray. The back panel is metal, and it was actually rusting on the bottom part, and dripping down into the collection tray. Unfortunately the part is no longer manufactured. We discussed alternatives, and I chose one to complete the repair on the part myself, which would give me time to search for one in used appliance parts stores, or other places. Tony explained everything he was doing. I can trust his knowledge and experience. thank you.

They were very helpful. They did not find the part due to a National Shortage. However, the were prompt in calling us back, and were eager to help in any way possible.

I called the appliance service and explained that my refrigerator was no longer functioning and provided them with error codes on the fridge. They were able to schedule a technician to come out the same day and have a look. Parts needed to be ordered which arrived the next day. The technician also arrived the next day with the parts and was able to perform the repair. He even placed tape around the chute which dispenses water into the ice cube tray to try and possibly prevent a future occurrence of ice build up around the fan and motor. Overall, I was very pleased with the customer service and the professionalism. Thought perhaps I may have been a bit overcharged on the part, but would definitely call them again.

Couldn't be happier with this company. We've used them before. Steve is honest and trustworthy. We'll use them again!

They had to order a part but they did a great job on the work. They are competent, reliable, and not overpriced. They are extremely honest with us. One time they came out and said they wouldn’t fix the appliance because it wasn’t worth the repair cost. They told us we should just buy a new one.

I called on Monday morning and left a message. My message was returned before noon, by Kathy. She asked a few questions and helped me locate a model number, that would help them with their assessment. We scheduled a time for Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday afternoon the service call was about 30 minutes long. Within the first 10 minutes, Steve thought he knew the problem. Wanted to rule out one issue. In order to do that, he had to get a part from his truck. Got it, tried it, and he was right with his original diagnosis. He was very personable and professional.

We were very pleased with the service provided by Duncan Appliance repair and would recommend them to others. Our initial interaction was via phone and we found the individual answering the phone to be friendly, knowledgable, and competent. An appointmet was arranged on short notice. We appreciated this as it was during a very cold winter and line drying clothing and diapers was not a reasonable option. The technician was punctual and professional. Diagnosed issues and repaired on-site. Explained problem before completing work. Went above and beyond by cleaninng dryer vents both internal and external to our home - despite the fact that he had to walk through several feet of snow to perform the work.

Part no longer available. Told them up front, and they found one in their inventory. Solved my problem. Thought price was fair to salvage an otherwise servicable range. Appointment was timely and arrived at time they agreed.

Honestly, we have had Duncan so many times that I can't remember which time to detail. I will say they are ALWAYS professional and competent and for years we have used them for everything from garbage disposal to dryer issues. Their prices are very fair.

The repairman put in a new compressor initially, which didn't take care of the entire problem, so he came back three times to tweak a couple of other things to get our system working again. He kept at it until everything was working well. He also replaced our ice maker during one of the visits. I liked that he kept coming back to check the temperatures and made sure everything was functioning well before billing us. He adjusted the labor costs in our favor since it took a few visits.

Tony arrived early in the time slot I was provided. He removed the cook top from the counter while explaining to me what he was doing. He checked out several potential causes to confirm that it was the switch that was bad. He replaced it, reassembled the cook top and placed it back into the counter top. It works fine now.

Last week tony came out and diagnosed the problem. A new motor was needed,so he ordered and came out the next week to install. All went well. They have always done an excellent job.

Very respectable company for service.

We love Duncan Appliance Service. Our experiences with them have been great. They don't overcharge you or fix something that they shouldn't. They're always knowledgeable and helpful. I've used them over a ten year period and they're great. I'd use them again and I'd highly recommend them.

Tony came out and was able to diagnise and fix the issue with our washer very quickly, and even went as far as giving us some advice on good washers to buy in the future. He was very professional and patient with all of our kids running around. When the problem with our washer was fixed, they only charged us $88. I will defintely continue to use Duncan for all of our appliance issues in the future.

I called Duncan Appliance Service because my refrigerator stopped cooling. I left a message which was promptly returned by Kathy. I gave her the model number, told her the problem and she estimated that the repairs would cost between $120 and $170.00. An appointment was scheuled for the first time that a service represenatative was available. Tony arrived as scheduled, quickly identified the problem and replaced the relay. He was very knowlegeable and professional and had the refrigerator quickly working. He also answered the few question that we had for him.

Steve discovered a problem with the 220v outlet that the oven plugs into. There were two contacts that were broken. New outlet was installed and oven works fine. I cannot say enough about the service rendered by Duncan Appliance. I would recommend that anyone with a large appliance problem to use them.

They were prompt, courteous and efficient. I would highly recommend them; however, when we called to schedule an appointment they were booked until the following week so there was a delay of a few days until they could come out.

Ice maker stopped making ice. Called Steve to see what the problem was. He ordered and installed a new ice maker. Very polite and price was very reasonable.
