Duncan Appliance Service

When I called to make the appointment, the person answering the phone asked what the problem was and the model number of my refrigerator. Mr. Duncan arrived on time on the appointed day and repaired the problem. He gave me a rough estimate before he started. After the work, he explained what he had done and indicated that there was a 99% chance the problem was fixed but occasionally they need to come back with this type of problem. I appreciated his honesty in telling me that.

The repair did not work right away, and they returned quickly to fix it.

I would not hesitate to call Duncan again for any large appliance repair that may come up in the future.

They were very professional and they did a great job.

They were out within a week; performed necessary repairs. Unfortunately the icemaker malfunctioned again a month after the initial repair; Tony came back out and removed blockage in line; could not find anything else wrong. The 2nd trip was no charge. Have used their services for several years and am always pleased with results.

He worked for an hour and half and didn't charge anything expect for the service call. I have been using him for 20 years and he has always been great.

He does great work. He is just very nice to work. He does all he can to be helpful.

My dryer just stopped working for no apparent reason the day before Thanksgiving. I resolved that it was time to finally join Angie's List after asking my cube-mate at work to look up services on her AL. I chose Duncan because they are close to my home and they had great ratings. I called and spoke to someone who was really nice and put me at ease right away. We scheduled for the following Wednesday. My service guy showed up in the time frame promised and I knew right away that this would be a good service call. He was professional, he answered all of my questions(even the seemingly dumb ones)and he let me watch what he was doing(who knew that a dryer was really that boring on the inside). He identified 3 issues and then we discussed options. He replaced 3 little things around the drum which had been worn down and of course, plugged the loose wire back in.

Very well. I have used them before and they are very reasonable and prompt. I'd use them again.

The company came to our home. They came right away. They brainstormed with us and identified the problem when three other companies could not do so. The workers were clean and courteous and fixed the problem.

Overall, OK. Pretty expensive for about 15 minutes of work over two trips: one to confirm problem and order part, the other to install. Expense partly due to expensive part, came close to just buying new dishwasher. No Angie's List discount.

Timely, efficient and well worth the cost.

The service was wonderful; much better than I had expected. When the gentleman was checking the oven door; he noticed the heating element was loose. At closer inspection he noticed that there was a stripped wire that was a fire hazard, he replaced the heating element and it was relatively inexpensive. He saved my home! I would not have known that it was in this condition and it could have been a disaster. I have a GE double oven; the spring in the door snapped; he wasn't able to buy a new spring for it, so he reshaped the spring and reinstalled it and it worked! He was a thinking technician! Since parts are not available for an oven of this age, I would have had to buy a new oven; he not only saved my home from fire, he prevented me from having to buy a new oven. He was on time, very clean and extremely responsive when calling me back! I would use them again and recommend them to everyone.

Our emergency repairs occurred on a weekend (naturally). We found Steve's information and left a message on Saturday. I actually got a call back on Sunday to advise on appointment availability. Steve was diligent about following up to ensure we got a great service call time.

Got quick, convenient appointment. Came on time; able to make repair and ice maker now working well.

They had to replace the seal of the dishwasher. They did an excellent job on the dishwasher. They were on time and seemed very knowledgeable. They found the problem quickly and were able to take care of it.

I would recommend them in the future.

I have to tell you one story. We have a convection oven/microwave built into the wall, it went on the blitz one day and so we called Duncan. Steve came out and worked on it for a couple of hours, he figured out what the problem was and then found out the part was on back order, he then proceeded to take the time to hot wire it temporarily so that we would have the use of it until the part came in. As this is a $2600.00 microwave, I don't think any other company would have figured out the problem, let alone fix it temporarily until the part came in. Of course when the part came back in they came back out and replaced it and all is well. It is very refreshing to know that there are still businesses out there like Duncan that take the extra step and time to do things right. We have had them out for other problems with other appliances and have always been very pleased with their work. I recommend them to any friends and relatives that I can. They are awesome.

We called Duncan Appliance because our dryer stopped functioning. He was able to come out within a couple of days, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He removed and replaced a defective electronic control.
