Troy, the repair man sent by Duncan Appliance Service arrived at the time arranged.He immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it promptly.This was a good experience.

One day our 18 month old GE Profile washing machine just started flooding water out the bottom! I honestly didn't know what to do. I joined Angie's List, choose Duncan Appliance Service and was a little disappointed when I had to leave a message. That was my only disappointment!! My call was returned and she (can't remember her name, maybe Karen, so sorry) was so sweet, helpful and empathetic. I even told her that I had moved my dryer trying to clean underneath it and the hose came loose - so she said they would be happy to take a look at that too. I told her I was disappointed with the positioning of the washer and dryer when they where installed because I couldn't open the dryer door all the way - she made note. We made my appointment for a day when my husband would be home and I was at work. When the work was completed, my husband called me and I talked to, I believe it was, Steve (again forgive me if the name is incorrect). He told me he had found that the fill spout holes were totally blocked with lime in the washer so he freed the holes and he installed new flex venting for my dryer and repositioned it so the door would open all the way. I asked him if he thought a water softener would help and he said yes - my husband would never get one on just my word we needed outside intervention!! I know we aren't supposed to speak for others here, but my husband is older and doesn't use a computer, so for him I would just like to say that he was very impressed with Steve. If we have appliance problems again we will definitely be calling Duncan!!

Tony was the repairman that came to my house and determined the part I needed for the dishwasher. We discussed the pros and cons of repair vs buying a new one and I decided on repair. He fixed the icemaker on the first visit. Tony also explained why my glasses and dishes were getting water spots and a film on them. I had never had the problem before and I truly though it was my dishwasher. The new law leaving the phosphates out of the dishwasher soap was the problem and easily solved after I bought a cleaner Tony recommended. I was thoroughly satisfied with my service from start to finish. I felt Tony was very knowledgeable and honest in his job and a definite asset to the company. I would definitely call them in the future.

Our older gas clothes dryer quit heating. Called Duncan on a Friday. They asked if this was urgent since they had many refrigerator repairs. We agreed to an acceptable time for following Tuesday. Saturday morning, they called to see if they could come that afternoon, which was agreeable.The owner is the service tech and was very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. The defect was quickly repaired with the replacement part. He also shared good information on exactly what the problem was.We will definetly use Duncan again and follow his suggestions for new applicances as the need arises.

The owner came back after the 4th of july holiday and rewired the outlet and put the new cord on the dryer then repositioned the dryer back to line up with the venting system which in my house is difficult because once the dryer is in the right place its hard to get out from behind it. The whole job probably took him about 45 minutes and the dryer works fine now. Previously I had someone from another appliance store out of the phonebook come to help me and he could not find the problem because when he was here the dryer ran, he came back a second time and still did not know what was wrong he suggested a new motor which had I listened to him would have cost me at least 1 and 1/2 times what I paid to get the problem fixed.

It is a very old washer. He opened it up, and said that if he gets into this, he would break it further. It was so corroded. I am still using the washer; but I have learnt what settings I have to have it on, so the water doesn't go anywhere. I know that it is going to stop working any day. I am sure I was charged for the service call, but he didn't repair anything because it would have made things worst probably. He is a really good guy.

They did an excellent job. He kept me up to date on when he was coming out, but he did not get out here until like 7 or 8. I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future.

Called before arrival, arrived in time period specified, repaired the problem. I was thrilled that I don't yet have to replace this dryer!

I called to schedule a service call for an issue with my dryer but I was given a few suggestions to try first. I was happy that I was able to fix the issue on my own.

Steve was on time and performed a thorough inspection and cleaning of our 30 year old refrigerator. He was very informative and helpful in answering my questions regarding the refrigerator and ice maker.

Steve Duncan determined that it was an old seal around the drum of the dryer and that the seal gives off reddish stains as it deteriorates. Steve replaced the seal, and everything has been great. He saved us from buying a new dryer, which we were prepared to do out of frustration over the red stains. I would highly recommend this company.

Steve was great. this was a 30" built in oven, which meant that it had to be removed to enable him to replace the heat sensor. \The oven was installed in such a way that here was very little room to work with which made getting the oven out and back in was no easy task but Steve managed to do it. the oven heated up and the problem was resolved completely to our satisfaction We have used Duncan appliance before and will certainly be the first one we call in the future.

The owner himself came out at 7:30 pm one night and he was just wonderful. He was courteous and cleaned up after himself. We are very happy with the work and the price he charged. I have already recommended him to other.

There was a blockage in my exit pipe; they found the problem and fixed it. The service was good.

Very satisfactory service from Kathy, who took our call and scheduled the appointment, to Steve, who completed service.

My dryer would not heat, so called Duncan. Steve came by, generally timely (toward end of the time bracket), diagnosed igniter failure and decayed bracket. Said at that time he was not certain if bracket could be found; dryer is old enough it is not a stocked part locally. He promised to check on the Internet and get back to me. After a couple of weeks, I got in touch with his office; then again; eventually it transpired he had thought he might have an igniter in his storage but hadn't gotten around to looking for it yet. The office contact promised to get on him about it, and shortly after that the part had arrived at their office and it was time to schedule installation. On installation date, Steve was delayed and the office offered to reschedule, but I didn't want to take another 1/2 day away from my office, and Steve eventually turned up at dinner time (literally) and got the part installed. So, I am appreciative of his efforts in keeping my antique in operation, but there was a certain amount of aggravation involved.

We were very pleased. Tony was outstanding: pleasant, professional, courteous, punctual and seemed very knowledgeable. Definitely will use this company again.

The job went well...Tony is a great tech, had a kink in the water line..replace kink... replaced the water valve. Tony used a vacume and cleaned up the coils and bottom of the fridge.adjusted the doors so they would close properly. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS A REPAIR...The job took about 45 minutes to repair and the icemaker is working better than it has in the last 2 years.

Excellent? I could have been told it was a much more expensive problem.

I've used this company for all my appliance repairs for the 10 years I've owned my home. I just saw they were here on Angie's list and wanted to review them because they are wonderful. I started using this company based on a recommendation from my Mom. I bake a lot of cookies at Christmas every year and was concerned because my oven didn't seem to be keeping a constant temperature based on a $10 thermometer I purchased to test it. I called to schedule and Kathy was very sympathetic and set a service call for the next week. They do prioritize their calls-I've had them come out on the SAME DAY when my refrigerator went out-but since my oven was working this was not an emergency. Steve came out and spent over an hour testing my oven, explaining in detail how it functioned and offering suggestions on how to get the best performance out of my appliance. He showed me how to adjust a setting so that it would operate more to my expectations. There was no problem and I was charged for the trip, but I feel this was completely fair and the knowledge I gained made this money well spent. They are extremely friendly, polite, prompt and knowledgeable. They are honest and have worked with me extensively on refrigerator problems that are due to manufacturer’s design (GE). Along the way Tony has offered me multiple suggestions to fix the issues with this fridge starting with the lowest cost option. They remember the issues and would rather give honest service than lose a customer so I feel that they do value my business. They also go above and beyond; at one point Steve came out at 7pm to install a part on this fridge prior to him going on vacation because he didn't want me to inconvenienced despite the fact that I also have a garage fridge! Overall, Duncan Appliance is a gem in a world of impersonal service.

Tony Ordaz was on time, very professional, pleasant to have around and charged a very reasonable amount to fix both our ice maker and dishwasher. He was also extremely respectful of our home. I would hire them again in a heart beat!

Mr. Duncan is very honest, very professional, and very experienced. Once, when he was busy I tried to hire another company and I was so disappointed that I went right back to Mr. Duncan. He always tells me exactly how much it would cost for the repair, whether it is cheap or expensive. I appreciate his honesty, and the work is always perfect. There is no one else that I can even remotely think of hiring. He does great work and always tells it like it is. I would recommend him to others.

Our experience with them was good. He came out pretty soon after I had made the call and diagnosed the problems within a few minutes. He knew exactly what he needed. Actually, he came across a second problem, and he came back a couple of days later to fix that as well. Obviously, he knew what he was doing. He was friendly. I liked that it was a local business. It was reasonably priced. I would use them again in the future if necessary.
