Chris was wonderful! I felt much more informed about the property, the area, and the property values. He was very professional, was well prepared, and answered any questions that I had. We would use him again and will be for another property that we need to sell.

I have not submitted my forms yet for the property tax appeal. I am preparing the data in order to submit the property tax appeal and feel confident that I have been provided the necessary details to succeed. I have been given the data, told how to utilize the data and offered follow up if needed to work with the assessor's office.

Chris came out with the fair market value of our home and homes in our neighbor. He was also helpful with ideas and updates we could do to our home.

These folks are great! It took four years for the Marion County Assessor's Office to respond to our real estate tax appeal, but it only took one day for Chris and his firm to respond to our inquiry. We need people like this in government! Chris provided an honest and fair appraisal of our property including a detailed comparison of homes in our neighborhood for the last several years. This is a very professional firm. Our children are all grown and live out of state so we will probably "downsize" at some point. We will definitely use Chris and Shari when that time comes.

I requested a Real Estate appraisal from Chris and Shari Dykes. Within two days of the request I received a complete and very detailed appraisal of my property.

I closed on my own so I did not need a realtor. Chris stayed in touch with me and was very patient even though he was not involved in the sale.

Chris did market research on homes that had sold in my area to help price my home accordingly. He had a talented photographer take pictures of each room & the outside of my home. The pictures were posted online to help market my home. Also, the pictures were made into a video that was available to perspective buyers. Chris answered all my questions & took time to meet with me at various times during the selling process. We also kept in touch via phone & email. I was happy with Chris's work in selling my home.

Buying and selling our home(s) is not a new process to us, as we have done so several times in our almost 20 years of marriage. As anyone who's been through this knows, it can be very stressful. They were awesome! I believe I called on a Sunday night and Chris came out the next day to meet us! We talked price and strategy. Professional photos were taken and within a week our house was listed. There was a showing 3 days later, an open house a few days after that and an offer by weeks end. It all happened so fast that we were in need for a rental. Shari took time to show me a few in our budget and area. She was very thorough and so was Chris. I would recommend them in a heartbeat!

We interviewed realtors from four different companies before making a choice. We chose Chris because he seemed to care about our needs and was willing to give ideas and suggestions even though he wasn't sure we would choose his company. Chris came to the interview prepared with comps and suggestions as well as information about his company and his track record of successful sales. His knowledge of the area was also a factor. We chose Chris over the others; and were happy with our choice. His aced his interview! We really appreciated his professionalism, enthusiasm, knowledge of the area, caring attitude and the resources he provided that helped us prepare the house to sell so quickly. He provided exceptional service during the entire process. We would use Chris again.

I do research for a living and that was my approach in choosing a realtor. I interviewed seven realtors and narrowed it down to two. Both of my top choices - The Dykes and another realtor - charged a commission higher than the other five I interviewed. I wanted an agent with strong communication skills, marketing skills,and negotiating savvy, Angie's List reviews as well as my interviews indicated my top two choices had all those qualities. But both were charging a 7% commission. My research indicated realtor commissions nationally fell to 5.1% during the housing crisis. While the market is improving, I was reticent about being asked to pay a hefty 7% commission. I expressed that reticence to both of them. The first realtor told me she would take a 6% commission if I would leave a positive review on Angie's List. On the other hand, Chris and Shari came down only half a percentage point explaining that their price reflected the quality of work performed. Utimately, I chose Chris and Shari because I was incredibly uncomfortable about the other realtor's attempt to negotiate a positive Angie's List review by lowering her commission. It called into question the integrity of other positive reviews left for her team. While I was less than pleased with the amount of the commission, I was extraordinarily pleased with the quality of Chris's work. Let's face it; the first tour of your house is online. So the pictures on MLS need to be extraordinary. I was thrilled with the professional quality of the pictures Chris took. I made some tweaks to the summary, but overall, his presentation was excellent. We got an offer in two days, and the buyer matched our price. I give Chris all the credit for the quick sale. He was smart and assertive - holding an open house the first weekend. Even though we already had an offer, Chris held the open house anyway to secure backup offers which I believe is a smart strategy. During the option period, we had hiccups. The buyer wanted a new roof. My insurance wouldn't pay for it despite the opinions of three contractors. But with Chris's guidance, we reached a compromise that we could all agree upon. Chris has the rare combination of talent and temperment. When I was annoyed with the insurance, the buyer's insistence on a new roof, the whole of the intermidably complicated process - Chris gave sound advice - quietly talking me off the ledge. The guy is simply unflappable. He's good. Really good. And we are now former Fishers homeowners because he is just that good. I also really liked the fact that he was always available by phone or email. He ALWAYS returned calls the same day. During a home sale, often timing is key. Chris is aware of that fact and always responsive. And he made responding to him easy with e-documents that were user-friendly. I guess the moral of this lengthy review is you get what you pay for. I still don't like the fact we paid a total commisssion of almost 16,000 bucks (that includes the buyer's and our agent). But truth be told, Chris and Shari are likely worth every nickel. If I had another house to sell in Indiana, I'd choose them again.

Chris and Shari were very professional and completely easy to work with. I am sure at this time of year they are very busy, but we felt like they were always on top on things and took care of all of the details- it was very clear they were experienced in their line of work, knew how to get things done, and helped us feel at ease through the process. They really made our experience enjoyable.

Our house sold virtually immediately, at a price point that is at the high end for comparable houses in our neighborhood. Chris and Shari provided balanced advise from start to finish: on price, purchase agreement, inspection repairs, etc. They made the process as painless as the sale of a house can be. We would definitely use them again!

We had a pretty specific area of Irvington in mind and had narrowed down where we would like to be searching for homes. He immediately set us with automatic email notifications via Mixbor, and actually uncovered a few homes in the area that we had missed using our traditional search methods of Trulia and Zillow. Prior to meeting him in person he suggested on picking out 8-10 homes we'd like to visit and he arranged scheduled visit times that were convenient for both of us. He was incredibly responsive when we approached him with additional homes we'd like to check out. And although Irvington wasn't necessarily his area of expertise, he was readily available to drive down from the north side to scope out out several homes on several different occasions. Once we found the home we liked, Chris took all of the necessary actions in contacting the selling agent to place a reasonable offer on the home. He recommended a price that we should offer, compared to what the house was listed at and in relation to similar homes in the area. He also covered topics like closing cost negotiations and a home warranty. As a first time home buyer, this was incredibly comforting. After the home inspection, Chris negotiated with the other agent to cover certain repair costs of the 100 year old home. He also maintained great lines of communication with the loan officer at the bank. When the time came to sign our official offer on the house, he made it incredibly easy to do this digitally via E-Mail. This was incredibly convenient, we were able to sign offers/counter offers from our desks during the workday. The selling agent turned out to be an incredible pain to work with (see below), but Chris remained positive and ensured us that even though we didn't hear from the selling agent for weeks at a time, he didn't think there was anything to worry about. The selling agent just happened to be terrible at email communication. We were able to close on our home the very last day of March, and everything went incredibly smooth with the closing process. Chris remained in contact with us weeks after the closing date, to monitor the status of the repair work that was agreed upon at the closing. A check was made out to a contractor at the closing ($1,800), and needless to say this work did not get done by the contractor in a timely fashion. Chris and Shari PERSONALLY refunded us a check for the amount that was agreed upon in the closing, and sought out a refund directly from the selling agent - because at that time, we didn't feel comfortable with the unreliable nature of the contractor who was slated to do the work. Chris went well beyond his means to ensure that we were taken care of. I'd love to say it was stressful, but it wasn't at all. Chris took care of all the heavy lifting! He was incredibly professional, handled all of the necessary paperwork, and took the right steps in closing on our house in a timely fashion. There aren't very many people out there nowadays who do their job with this much passion and ensure their clients are satisfied. There's a reason this duo is highly rated on Angie's List and are Super Service Award winners! I'd recommend them to anyone.

My wife and worked with Chris and Shari Dykes on the sale of our home. Chris was very organized and had a complete marketing program prepaired to sell our house. The photos and video Chris produced of our home were unbelievable! The communication was unbelieveable whethere it was by cell phone, email or text Chris was all over it. Chris and Shari were very professional. honest and family driven people. Their gola was to give my wife and I the best home selling experience. Also, I was working with a relocation company, which can be difficult, but it didn't phase Chris and Shari. Overall our experience with Chris and Shari was stellar. We worked mostly with Chris during our buying process and he was friendly and easy to approach. He is professional but down-to-earth enough that you feel like a friend more than a client. We highly recommend this real estate team. We walked away with an amazing house and a new friend. My daughter and I hired Chris and Shari to sell my daughter's house. It was a positive experience from day one of listing the house through the closing of the sale. Even though the process ended up being very complicated because it went from a regular sale to a short sale, Chris helped every step of the way. I would have been totally lost in the whole application/paperwork requirements that were ultimately needed, but Chris was on top of it the entire way and everything went very smoothly. Even more important, he was the voice of calm when my daughter and I were worried or confused. Chris offered many times to help small repairs, the loan of equipment, and even a truck for moving. He and Shari are kind, thoughtful, and just plain NICE people and I would definitely do business with them again. They have my highest recommendation.

I called both Chris and Shari Dykes of Carpenter Realtors, Broad Ripple office, from one of their signs at 10:00 AM on a Friday morning to ask to see a listing of theirs at noon. We had never crossed paths before this day. Both Chris and Shari returned my call immediately and Shari graciously accommodated showing the listing to us on such short notice. While we did not offer on the particular house listed, we felt an instant trust in Shari and wanted to continue the relationship of realtor/buyer. I had called other realtors off of their signs and none of them were as professional and responsive as Chris and Shari were. We were extremely serious about buying a home. While Shari was at the first showing and did research for us for other potential properties, her husband Chris was involved as well and ended up showing us the next house of choice. It was an instant love affair for the house and it had only been on the market for 8 days. We made a solid offer right away and within a day, we were ecstatic buyers with an accepted offer in hand. Chris negotiated on our behalf and the entire transaction could not have been any better. I love the idea of working with a husband/wife team, especially this one.
