Kathy was on time and very professional. Went about her work as we talked about some changes/additions to just asphalt. We have long driveway (about 750 feet) and a drive to the barn (another 100 feet). Got another estimate from a highly rated contractor for $30,000 for the same work. Not sure if they are high and Central was low or Central was competitive and the other vendor was high. I would want to get a 3rd estimate at this point since the two that I got were so far apart. Had some other big expenses come up and had to put the asphalt on hold.

They responded the same day and provided a written proposal in person the very next day, detailing the work to be performed. Their bid was very reasonable and they were quite professional but we choose another company, deciding to resurface (remove) most of the old asphalt and lay new. I would contact them again in the future.

They stopped by because they were paving a driveway up the road from my house to see if I was interested in having my driveway done. I had a very long gravel driveway that has always been an eyesore to me. Grass would grow up in the stone and I have a pond that would flood over in the spring and wash some of the gravel out. This project had been on my to do list but was a low priority. I was just planning on having more stone dumped in this year. After talking to Tim and Dave and taking the cost of doing this once vs. dumping stone in every other year it made sense to do it now. After reading the reviews on Angie's list I decided to pull the trigger and have them do it. I could not be happier with how it looks or with the company. They went above and beyond what we agreed to. They added additional material to help build up the area down by my pond, they slanted it slightly to help on the few occasions when it does flood and they paved an area at the end of my driveway by the road where the county paved a pad coming in off the road. They essentially fixed what the county did so it was easier for me to get in and out of my driveway. They did this all at no extra charge. I was not expecting them to fix what the county did so they came up to me afterward and said if I didn't like it they would take it out. I would have been crazy to take them up on the offer but it speaks to the kind of people they are. They wanted me happy with the job they did. If you want it done and want it to meet or exceed your expectations use this company.

It went very well. We give them a quote they give us a number. If it works out we give them a date and they show up and perform their work. They do a really good job.

The entire experience was great. From the estimate appointment with Kathy, to getting the work scheduled, to the job being done. The guys were all very nice and they all knew exactly what they were doing. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

The servicemen arrived on time and with all of the equipment. They dug out the yard for the new portion of the driveway. Then proceeded to adding the additional asphalt and resealing the rest of the driveway. The job was completed in a timely manner and the end result was very nicely done. I have used them in the past and will use them again in the future.

Central Paving was called and arrived for a quote within hours. Man offered me a deal if I did it that day. We decided to go ahead. City had already paved our street just weeks before and it was beautiful. All we needed was to have our driveways paved and matched up to the road. Equipment arrived that afternoon. After it was done I was appalled and disappointed. They had scratched up the surface of the street so bad it looked white. It was not what we were expecting. Also, the beginning of the driveway did not match up to the road. I asked the men to call the manager, which they did and I talked with him extensively. His explanation for the scratched surface was that there was no other way to get their equipment in there to do the job without scratching up the surface of the road, and besides, it would look like that anyway (we live on a dead-end road and only two cars a day drive on it, plus a garbage truck once a week and a mail delivery truck once a day). He assured me that he could match up the surfaces with a torch, that it was a simple process, but so far I have not heard one word from them since I talked to the manager. My husband came home and was also very disappointed in the appearance of the work. They should have warned us that they would have to scratch up the surface of our road in order to get the job done. I noticed that they were performing the work very fast (it may be because of the nature of the setting process) and I believe that's what scratched the surface, that they were not careful, not that it was inevitable. I will not use this company again, nor recommend them.

I don't like to leave negative reviews, but I am writing this one because I hope it will help improve Central Paving's responsiveness. In October 2012, I called their office and was told someone would contact me to schedule an estimate. A lady called me and we set up a date and time for the estimate. However, the person did not come out to the property at that time, nor did they call me after the missed appointment. I followed up with a voicemail on this person's mobile phone, but never received a response. I think this is a case of a good company letting one fall through the cracks. So, I hope they improve the front-end responsiveness & communication.

Estimate was given quickly, they recommended just resurfacing our existing driveway instead of tearing it out. After talking with several other companies and engineers, we thought it best to have the old driveway removed completely. When we called to get a revised estimate, they were originally almost $700 higher than the next competitor, but lowered their price to match the lowest bid. The work was performed quickly (within a day of me calling them) and the crew that performed the work was very friendly and did a good job. I lost a little bit of driveway space due to how the driveway edges had to be slanted which I wish I would have known ahead of time so I could ask them to extend the driveway a little bit, but it's functional and appears sound. I tried calling back after the work was performed to have my paperwork updated, and it took 6 tries over 2 months to get a call back, which is why I marked them down in responsiveness. I'm not sure where the problem was (you have to call into an answering service, so maybe they didn't get my messages?) but that was inconvenient. I didn't have Kathy's direct cell phone number after the job was completed, but during the job she was very responsive.

They did a good job. They did say they will come back to do the work. So, they are good.

It was fine. We always get three estimates, but made a quick decision since they were in the neighborhood. We received a discount as a result. Since they go to our church, (it is a big church and we do not know them) we hope we received a fair deal.

Emailed via Angie's List to ask for an estimate. Apparently the message ddn't reach the company, so after a few days I called. Kathy answered and confirmed that she hadn't received the message. She came promptly and left us an estimate. It compared favorably with others we had received, so we had her schedule the work. They came within a few days and did the job. The price was as estimated, and we also took advantage of an Angie's List coupon for 5% off. We are particularly pleased with the type of sealer they used. It went on easily and smoothly, without globs of 'tar-like' stuff. The next time the driveway needs sealing, we will definitely have Central Paving do it. Note: Kathy also gave us an estimate for repaving the drive, a price that seemed reasonable. If repaving becomes necessary (this asphalt has been down 30+ years), we will have them do it. The company is very professional.

It took 2-3 days to complete the job. It was a great experience and the crew were the owners I believe. Very nice honest people. The job was perfect and the drive has been done two months now. We haven't had a good rain yet, however I am confident in their work. The price we paid is with an Angie List coupon and paying cash.

It went perfect. Dave, the owner was on-site the entire time. The crew was well organized and discrete tasks performed by each so that labor was used efficiently and effectively. Dave's company is well equipped with the necessary equipment to complete the work in a remarkably short period of time. As mentioned above, Dave and company milled down the existing drive, cut out a 4 foot section of concrete curb along the drive to extend the radius of that area. A leveling grade of asphalt material was then applied to wedge and level the surface. A top coat of 100% pure premium asphalt was then applied at an average thickness of 2 inches. It was noted by me in many areas, especially along the curb the material thickness far exceeded the contracted 2 inches. I chose Dave over another company based on his reviews which stated he milled existing drives. The one other estimate I had was based on excavating the entire drive. This didn't make sense to me intuitively. A cured Asphalt surface would benefit from a solid underlayment instead of loose earth and gravel. When the surface of my old drive was milled, I inspected the surface and noted that its structural integrity was apparently solid which was substantiated by Dave's inspection and further explanation on the benefit of retaining the old drive's underlayer. I felt comfortable with receiving only 2 quotes. I knew what other contractors would quote based on Angie List member reviews. I liked Dave's flexibility in working with individual situations. DOs: 1. Think carefully before deciding to have an existing drive torn out. 2. Ensure the material is high quality. Much asphalt is composed of up to 15% or more in recycled materials.

Central Paving of Indianapolis did a good job. The owner actually came back out with the crew and had some ideas that made things more cost-effective for us and better in the long run.

Excellent! They said they would be there around 8:00 am and they were there right exactly at 8:00am. athe workers were very professional and friendly and answered all the questions to our staisfaction. The clean-up when they were done was excellent and the owner (Dave) even made a trip back later to check and see if we were happy.

5/3/12 update. Not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but after posting my review, I did finally receive a quote for sealing my driveway. Not sure if I can now feel comfortable with their responsiveness if I were to accept the quote/proposal. Never received my requested quote.

All work went as expected, within time estimates. The crew was skilled with good equipment to complete the job correctly.

very punctual. Entire job done in only a few hours. Area cleaned up well when they left. Improved driveway drainage to street with no more standing water. Overall very happy with the job they did, and for much less than other estimates.

Generally very pleased with the work. Early on there was some mix up in communications but when the actual work began it was performed very professionally and in a timely manner factoring in unpredictable weather. The crews working on the project were great.
