Workers arrived on 30 September and dismantled the 40 year old porch. This process was completed by removing several slabs of concrete the porch was built on. A new deck was built on 8 poles dug into the earth. On one part of deck a screened in porch was built. The work was supervised by Greg Arnold. His craftsmanship was excellent. Electrical connections were installed for outlets, lights, and ceiling fan. The entire porch was painted. Gutters were installed. A beautiful hand railing was installed on the open deck The work took about 4 weeks and it looks great. Brent, the company,s owner came by many times. It was a pleasure working with him.

Both projects went perfectly. They showed up every day at 8 AM and worked till 5 PM. They cleaned the jobsite every day before leaving and they were very courteous to my wife he was home during the porch renovation turning it into a sunroom. I would highly recommend them for any construction project . We also had them finish our basement several years ago and they also remodeled our lake home. They do very high-quality work at a fair price. A lot of the workers have been with Centennial for many many years.

We had some rotted siding and a storm door that had to be replaced followed by painting of the exterior of the house. The repair of the siding went fine. The storm door was replaced with a Larson door but they installed the old worn out door hardware onto the new door. They assumed I would want the old hardware on a new door. Why would anyone want old hardware on a brand new door? I had to tell them to put the new hardware on which they did. The plastic cover on top of the door covering the hydraulic door closed was also cracked. I have brought this to their attention and not replaced yet. We have hired many painters in the past. Very displeased with the conduct of this bunch. To start they knocked loose two of the deck balusters off the back deck. They left it. I repaired it. These painters was by far the sloppiest. I am still discovering new areas on my house where they left paint smudges and blobs of paint. They left paint on the brick, deck, plants, and gutter downspouts. I pressure washed these areas and removed the paint myself. I specifically asked that the crew take care around the landscaping and plants in front of the house. There was a lot of broken branches around the tree and also the rhododendrons. I came home after work and observed the paint crew was washing off all their equipment in the middle of my lawn. Now there is a nice brown dead spot to remind me. The contract I signed said one color of paint on the house. The paint crew used two. A separate color for trim. Their mistake not mine. They came back and said I owed an additional $700 after the fact. I paid it and am moving on.

[Member Name Removed], Centennial will take the opportunity to address your Angie's List review. We do appreciate feedback when a customer has concerns with a project. Our signed contract for the address indicated was with [Member Name Removed] not [Member Name Removed] but it was for the work described in the review. We are happy the siding portion of the project went well and will address each additional concern. The door Our sales representative thought that the door had a handle included. Because it did not we re-installed the existing hardware to secure the door. Normally if a door has a lock such as the existing one the homeowner supplies the hardware therefore the homeowner has the keys not the contractor. We were unable to reach the homeowner to resolve the issue and will not leave a door unsecured. We replaced the hardware after speaking with the homeowner. The plastic covering that was broken is not needed. The storm door manufacturer supplies 2 to cover both openings not knowing how the door will be set up left or right swing. We have ordered a new one to satisfy the homeowner's request. Unfortunately we did have communication issues on this project. The sale representative did call the homeowner to let him know when she and the project manager would be there to walk the project and when the project would begin. The homeowner failed to be at that meeting and was never there when the project manager was on sight. The project manager's calls, voice mails and text communications did not get returned by the homeowner during this project. He would respond to the sales representative but not always in a timely manner. Because the project was in motion and decisions had to be made concerning the door and paint color selections this lead to some miscommunication. The project manager is the person on site making the decisions and supply materials to make a project flow. We cannot wait days for a return call to the sale representative when the crew is on site working. The painters When the homeowner let us know about the paint smudges and blobs of paint, our sales representative spoke with him and went to the home then went over all concerns and taking pictures to create a punch list. There were 7 small areas shown to her with a paint drip or smudge. The painter took before pictures and there were existing paint splatters on the gutters and downspouts from a previous paint project. Paint on the shingles were our responsibility all but 1 were found to be bird droppings. She stated we would be out for a punch list and we would take care of them at that time. There is always a punch list at the end of each job to fine tune any issues. He stated not to bother since he had the day off and was going to be power washing the deck. We were never told at this time or any other time about the loose deck balusters which would also have been part of the punch list. We did address the cleaning of the equipment with the painting crew and they will no longer clean up in this manner. We do appreciate the heads up on your concern for this practice. The homeowner did not supply the paint color for his home as we requested. The signed contract clearly stated painting siding and trim all one color only. At the homeowners request 2 colors were requested not one color. Therefore an additional $700.00 became a chargeable item. Landscaping The homeowner signed a contract which has the following verbiage: Although reasonable care will be taken in placement of ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment some minor damage may occur to plants, ground cover and interior surfaces. Contractor will not be held liable for this normal trampling, or limb breakage etc. Due to the amount of landscape, foliage and this being very overgrown around the home the Breakage was inevitable but very minimal. We were not aware there was a brown spot left from the cleaning paint brushes and rollers. The sales representative did go by the property to take pictures as soon as this review came in and was unable to locate any brown spots. We will get with the home owner and to deliver the door cover and have him show us the spot at that time and take the corrective action. Centennial regrets that you were not completely satisfied with the projects outcome although we do feel with a better dialog and accessibility with the homeowner the project would have run much more smoothly.

Centennial was wonderful. They were excellent in every respect: communications, craftsmanship, personal interactions, design advice, carefulness, staying within budget, staying on schedule, tidiness. Every person we worked with was great. More than that, they not only were welcoming and patient with questions but they offered solutions to several other ongoing problems-- that have made significant improvements in our house. Moreover, we felt comfortable as we realized that we had made the right choice and we felt that we were in good hands. Half way through the project I had already decided that we will have them back for work in our kitchen. We had two requirements: 1) we have two bathrooms and we needed to always have one that was working during the process; and 2) we asked them to preserve some of the aspects of one bathroom as a cost saving/aesthetic decision. They did great with both requirements. Our bathrooms look really great, with great ventilation and improved fixtures! Now I think we shouldn't have waited so long! Dave and Robyn were our go-to people and they were just super-- great ideas, fun to work with, careful, diligent, patient and thorough. They kept everything organized and gave us good ideas for making each bathroom look great and function well. Every person in each job was really great-- demolishing, ventilation, electrical, carpentry, tile, plumbing, painting, mirrors, shower door. We had waited a long time to do this project because I had some poor experiences with other projects with other providers Centennial took care of us the way we take care of people in our lines of work. The outcome and the process was completely worth the price.

We had a very positive experience with Centennial. They spent nearly 4 days working on our home. The crew arrived promptly each day and worked tirelessly in extreme heat and humidity. They answered all my questions and took care of every concern I had. Some repairs were beyond what was originally agreed to in the contract but done with very little up charge. After each day they cleaned up the property hauling away all removed trim and boards. They'll admit they're not the cheapest but they did excellent work and we couldn't be more please with the result.

Brent the owner was great to work with. He kept us informed every day what was going to be done ad when they would be here. There was one day he was here working also. He was very detailed oriented and came often to overlook the work and and made sure everything was done properly. They cleaned up everyday before they left. We love our sunroom which was built on the back of our house. The job was done the time he said and we are very happy with it. We had some water damage in our house when we got back from Florida after 2 months in Florida. Brent was the first person Ithought to call to relplace hardwood floors and other wor to be doe agai he did a feat job.

Work required re-framing of the bump out roof that had a peak slanted slightly down instead of slightly up. That caused water to easily enter when the wind was blowing. The shingles and underlayment were removed, replaced with ice and water rubberized underlayment, and re-shingled. Very happy with the work done. Cleanup was also complete to my satisfaction. The Centennial employees were very professional and, more importantly, took the time to explain what the cause of the leak was and how it was repaired so that it did not happen again. I highly recommend Centennial to anyone who needs repairs or remodeling work done on their home.

Description of Work: My sunroom was not functional before. The windows would not open or shut. We hired Centennial to replace. Terrible. When I required about scheduling today, The estimator came by to tell me the owner decided to increase the eave repair price to $1390 because it is a minimum 6 hour job. The eaves hasn't changed since pictures were taken by the estimator,
Description of Work: Centennial provided an estimate to install an interior patio door for about $2500.00 (not including the door) and an estimate to repair 3 eaves for $495.00. I decided not to install the door but did confirm that I wanted the eaves repaired. Since the quote was less than $500,the estimator said that they don't do a written contract for their minimum quotes and I would be on the May schedule. The estimator took plenty of pictures of the eaves

Centennial apologizes that your experience was not a positive one. The estimator that came out to the project was fairly new and quoted verbally a minimum estimate of $495.00. Which covers 2 men for 1 hour including materials. Upon review with the owner it came to her attention that it would take more hours and more men to achieve the repair. How the gutters were connected to the eaves were not taken into account. Once again a apology is offered for this mix up was not intentional.

Where do you start with a leak coming in from the outside? Brent's' idea was to start on the outside to fix that right, and then see if it was still leaking or not. He felt 99.9% sure that if done this way, it would be solved, and we could fix the drywall after a few rainstorms in the spring showed that it was not leaking. Other contractors thought that taking off the drywall inside to possibly see where the leak was coming from would be the correct approach. Brent is very knowledgeable about construction process and flow. He would take down the second floor siding to each side of the lobby picture window and 4 rows of shingles off the front porch roof below. He would overlay the siding and roof joint with a 36 inch cover then wrap the house with house wrap (which it did not have from the builders' contractor) Then he would take out the window, replace, install new trim boards and then cover the window/trim connection with caulk and then aluminum moldings customized on site. I went with Brent. Only 1 snafu at the beginning. Contract was signed 10/17/16 with a projected Thanksgiving date of completion. I called Brent on 11/17/16 to see if the replacement window had come in and where I stood on the schedule. The window had not been ordered due to an office staff family emergency. Ok, that happens, sooner or later to all of us. Brent then went out of his way to rush order the window and squeeze me into the schedule on the first warm enough day in December in order to not crack the vinyl siding when taking it off. The window came in on 12/9. On 12/20, the evening before it would be 50 degrees the crew of Greg and Harold showed up to clear snow & ice off the front porch roof with shovels and heat guns and leaf blowers and salt. They were careful not to dislodge the heating cables on the porch roof as well. They showed up early the next day and went right to work. It was mostly completed in 2 days, with a new J-channel having to be picked up and installed. A good to excellent experience with a knowledgeable, concerned contractor, friendly and efficient crew, and hopefully a 100% fix. I'll try to update this after a few spring storms

Excellent! We interviewed several area construction contractors before deciding to hire Brent Ash and his business, Centennial Construction and Remodeling Services. Brent is a professional and has more than 20 years experience building custom room additions of all kinds. His broad experience showed during our initial contact that included us discussing options and choices in the backyard to sitting down at our table and methodically going over everything. Never rushed. My wife and I decided to contract with Brent to build an enclosed porch on steroids. Our desire was to have a cathedral ceiling so trust and comfort (opening a large section of our roof!) was huge in our decision to hire. Result was our new back roof ridgeline was expertly built and resulted in a high gable ceiling that peaks at about 16 feet. Our new room measures approximately 14x23 feet and has 11 windows including a half-round window mounted high in the room's center. Brent and his crew (Greg, Tim, and Zach) demolished an existing small concrete pad and stairs and set about installing 6x6 inch green treated posts installed at least 36 inches in the ground. Greg, crew leader, was extremely detailed and patient to ensure the posts were set properly. After several days, the framing of the sub-structure occurred and installing the 2x10 inch floor. We elected to install R-3 blue board insulation over the floor joists and that decision could be felt on our feet during first use on New Year's Day. Nice! The sub-flooring was completed and framing of the porch began within couple workdays. Upon completion of the wall framing, Brent and his crew began the complex job of cutting into existing house roof and making tie-ins. He led the crew in constructing the gable roof using 2x6 inch roof rafters and 2x8 inch ridge beams. Brent spent most of his time over several days completing our roof and then installing ice and water shield membrane with felt. We chose to fully insulate our porch and Brent suggested using two base board heaters, with thermostats, to provide economical warmth. We are thrilled with the result as we have used our porch room during the cold teen days of early January. My wife and I really appreciate the great work done by Centennial. Brent's employees are friendly and approachable to ask questions. Greg, Tim, and Zach compliment Brent's expertise by providing there own high skills during a complex building project. Centennial does subcontract for electrical, and painting. Brent was easily reached for questions or concerns during all phases of our project.

Response from Centennial Construction & Remodeling Services, Inc
Centennial is truly sorry we were unable to connect with you. We do our best to reach out and speak to all leads that are provided to the sales staff. Unfortunately it seems like we were unable to do that. Many times a voice mail box is full thus we are unable to leave a voice mail that we tried to make contact. We can not go back and trace the circumstances but would like to offer an apology.
