We were planning to donate our computer to a local high school in Indianapolis and needed a piano mover to do the work. After some research I selected Carmel Piano Movers. The decision turned out to be the correct one. They were friendly and helpful from the first phone call until the final delivery. The moving crew arrived on time and was friendly and professional all the way through. They also completed the move well ahead of the projected duration to do so. I would absolutely recommend Carmel Piano Movers to anyone needing to move a piano. DM

Carmel Piano Movers and Storage were by far the most reasonable in cost for a long distance move whom I contacted. Yet they delivered a great service and I could not have asked for better crews either in McCordsville or North Webster. They worked with my schedule and the logistics of the strangeness of the terrain. The entire crew was friendly, courteous and professional. A great experience all the way around.

We had our hardwood floors refinished. We moved the piano so that room could get done and messed up the floors (and our backs) in the process. So we decided to pay to get it moved back. The guys put pads down on the floor and rolled it on a dolly for a while and then carried it to it's place on the wall. I couldn't believe they could lift that piano! I was so impressed and amazed. They got it moved with no marks on the wood floor. I only wish we'd hired them to move it the time before. They were quick, efficient, and very careful.

I called Carmel Piano Movers after trying unsuccessfully to schedule a different mover. I definitely should have called them first. Very friendly and professional - easy to work with. Apart from my initial call, I dealt with Tom to schedule and complete the move. Great communication and a pleasure to work with. I appreciated them asking about moving concerns (tile entry way), working with short notice to fit me into their schedule, and the care that they took with the piano. The piano is a tall upright which weighs a ton - no problem at all for them navigating the icy driveway, front steps and tile entryway. Tom even called after the move to provide some history on the piano after getting back to the shop. Great experience and certainly would work with them again.

We bought a used player piano that had worked perfectly when we bought it but on delivery had some malfunctions. He definitely turned a less than favorable matter into a wonderful buying experience. Completely fixed everything and beyond. We LOVE our new system! It is exactly what we wanted! The color, the tone, and the price. A perfect new addition to our family. His customer service was been exceptional from himself, the owner...coming over to make matters right, to his delivery guys who were very friendly, and Mike who is really the "piano man" of technicians. We weren't there when the technician was working on the computer so we had no clue what he was doing, our house-sitter was there..When we got home with the new system installed and the user manual opened to exactly the page we needed to learn how to turn it on and connect. On New Years day, the day after he installed he called to follow up to see whether I had learned how to use it or if it was working properly and if I had any questions! Honestly Great Experience! I will definitely recommend anyone to buy from them!

On my first call to the vendor I spoke with Carlonda who was pleasant and helpful. She was very customer-oriented and did all she could to make the scheduling fit my schedule. On the day of the move the movers called when they arrived at the seller's house and again when they were on their way to my house. Both movers were very polite and professional. I would highly recommend their services.

First of all, Tom, the guy who does the scheduling and how also showed up to move the piano is just about the friendliest guy ever and he is clearly very passionate about his work. He knows a lot about the care and maintenance of pianos. He took time to ask lots of questions during our conversation before I hired him. He was the only moving company I called out (out of 4 total) who seemed genuinely concerned about my happiness and he's very good at anticipating people's needs. Knowing from my address that I live in a historic district, he even anticipated that I have hard-wood floors and recommended I buy Magic Sliders to protect my floors from the piano's weight. He even knew what size sliders I needed to buy for my piano. During the move, he treated the piano with great care and he seemed very excited about pointing all the unique features of the piano (1914 Schilling Upright). I'm definitely going to hire him to tune the piano, but he's not in a hurry to get my money; he truly cares about the well-being of the piano. He recommended that I let the piano sit for a couple weeks to let it adjust to the temperature and humidity levels in my home to allow before tuning. He even promised to call me back after the new year. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They were fast, friendly, punctual, reasonably priced, and clearly passionate about their work.

|My husband bought a Steinway baby grand piano on Nov. 2 at a charity auction. The piano needed to be moved from southern Indiana to our home in Indianapolis. I called Carmel Piano Movers on the morning of Nov. 6 to inquire about their services after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Rod gave me a quote based on the piano size, distance (130 miles one way), number of steps in and out at each location, etc. Rod told me to expect a call from Tom later in the day regarding scheduling. Tom called at 3:00 p.m. to let me know they could do the move on Thursday - the very next day. | |He helped coordinate the timing and logistics at the pick up location in southern Indiana and called during the trip back to Indianapolis to keep me apprised of their expected arrival time at my home. | |Tom and Ben were very helpful in placing the piano in my home and made sure I was satisfied with the location before they left. Tom also provided useful information on caring for the piano, too. We did not know the age of piano and Tom researched the serial number when he got back to the office and called to let us know when it was manufactured. | |

I bought a piano from a friend of a relative. The Piano was out near Greenfield and I live just south of Beech Grove and needed it moved safely to my house. I called about a week ago to ask about prices, they quoted me $205 which was $30 cheaper than then next cheapest estimate I got. It was very easy, they worked with us on pick up time from the seller. They arrived right on time for pickup, then they called me when they were 30 minutes out from my home. Everything went great

The thing I appreciated the most, though, was the pre move communication. Many service providers are lacking in this department, and Tom did a really good job setting expectations for the move (time, money etc) and called me the day of the move with updates on when he would arrive at the pick-up location. I work at Angie’s List and my free employee membership accidentally expired, but they should be turning it back on shortly and I’ll be sure to leave a nice review.
Description of Work: It was a really great experience. I have never had my piano moved before, but Tom and Ben were very careful with it. They communicated well with each other during the move, going up and down and stairs and such. I thought it was a little pricey considering we only moved the piano about 6 blocks and it took less than an hour, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Sometimes you have to pay for fantastic service.
