Spoke with Jay (dispatcher) at Bedell Plumbing this afternoon to discuss the issue of my dealing with a toilet clog for the last 5 days. Very shortly thereafter, Jay called me back to say that he was sending a technician within an hour. Couldn't believe the quick response, but appreciated it so much. Dale, the technician, was very personable and I warned him by saying that I hoped he didn't have a queasy stomach. He was very professional and snaked (auggered) my toilet line. It was a quick process. He also reassured me the home remedies I tried on my own didn't harm my pipes. He answered my questions related to doing monthly maintenance to prevent clogs in the future and even suggested where I could purchase inexpensive supplies related to keeping my toilet line clear. Appreciated Dale's professionalism and friendliness. Very impressed with Bedell Plumbing. Contacted another plumber from another company 4 days earlier. We spoke briefly on the phone and found him to be creepy. That plumber never returned my call and even in our brief conversation, found him to be very rude. Jay and Dale at Bedell Plumbing were a godsend.

My 15-year-old sump pump's float switch suddenly stuck in the "on" position so I unplugged the pump and then every two hours around the clock I had to plug it back in for 15 seconds or so to let the sump pit drain. I purchased a new pump online and contacted a few plumbers about a Saturday install; however, very few work on Saturdays. Bedell was an exception. I told them the new pump and check valve were expected to arrive Friday. They set me up for a 10 a.m. Saturday appointment but said if the pump arrived before 4 p.m. Friday, they probably would be able to get it installed the same day, sparing me another sleep-interrupted night. The pump arrived before 4 p.m. and Jay sent someone within 90 minutes. The installer was Freddie, a likable young man and very capable. He arrived at 3:30 p.m. and was done by 4 p.m. He removed the old pump, cleaned a short section of the old PVC pipe, and installed my new pump and check valve. No new PVC or other materials were needed. When I first called, the price originally was quoted at $250-$350, with no reason given for the difference in price. On the day of install, I was quoted and charged $350 (less a $20 Angie's List coupon I had.) This seems extremely high for a half hour's work; however, it's probably about the same as other plumbers' charges. I am pleased with Freddie's work and with the responsiveness of Bedell Plumbing to do their best to solve my problem as quickly as possible. I've hired them in the past for other work and am likely to hire them again.

Sears no longer has contract plumbers to install water softeners, so I called Bedell, my regular plumber. The price was higher than I expected, but the work was also more complex than I expected. The job was done right.

John came and did the work. Let me just say, I will be hiring BEDELL's and asking for John in the very near future and on a regular basis. He was kind, polite, professional and on time. He made sure any mess that was made was taken care of. I asked alot of questions and he was extremely patient. The price I feel was very fair! Like I said I will call BEDELL's and ask for John every time!

I had a sink issue that I had two different plumbing companies come out and inspect. The companies gave me conflicting information and I wanted a 3rd opinion so I called Bedell. I spoke to Jay Bedell and he was very knowledge and extremely helpful. I was able to get a next day appointment and the plumber actually came out sooner than the original time expected. Freddy was the plumber and he was able to fix our issue within an hour. He was very nice, experienced, and thoughtful in resolving our issue. I would highly recommend this company!

This is just one of many situations in which I have been grateful to Bedell for providing excellent service to me. My sump pump and backup both failed, causing the floor, carpet, baseboard, and drywall in the finished portion of my basement to be soaked. When I called Bedell, Jay responded helpfully, as he does always, and John worked skillfully and efficiently to complete the required work, keeping me informed and being very pleasant throughout. After the job was done, Casey kindly provided a copy of the receipt to me, when I could not find the one that had been given to me.

Great price and service! $500 less than Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for the same exact project. I highly recommend Bedell as they were honest, punctual and professional. Definitely recommend!

I wanted to give the most honest review I could, while we won't hire again I did appreciate how quickly they responded and how kind the plumbers that came out were. We originally called due to believing we had a clogged drain. When attempted to unclog, they told us that our sewer lines were collapsed underneath the house and it would start around $5000 to repair. We have a slab and that would be a major project tearing up our house from the back bathroom to the front street. They additionally offered to jet the line for $700 (which could go towards the full project) for a temporary fix and we paid them $135 for them to come out. We got some other opinions and thankfully another company came out and jet the line for us for just $320 (HALF of what Bedell wanted to charge us). Our lines also were not collapsed and we are so thankful for that! I do understand that Bedell may not have had a way to know if our lines were collapsed or not with them being impacted like that so I won't hold that against them either. Overall, their pricing just seems way too much and I feel like we were charged $135 for them to make me sick with worry as they didn't do anything else for us at that time.

I made an emergency call to Bedell Plumbing on a Friday afternoon. Our old hot water heater left us with an inch of standing water in the basement. Bedell showed up in less than 30 minutes. Basement started to drain within 15 minutes after I answered the doorbell. We then talked with the plumber about our plumbing issues in general. Two plumbers showed up Monday morning. At the end of the day, our house was in better shape than the day we bought it. Bedell performed the following services: sump pump & float replacement; cleared blockage of kitchen sink garbage disposal and dish washer lines; replaced rusted garbage disposal unit with greater capacity; installed new hot water heater; installed new hot water recirculation system (now, almost immediate hot water throughout the house); and finally, installed a new freeze proof outdoor hose bib.

I have used several Angie's list plumbers through the years and would say they have been satisfactory, but nothing special--after all, how special could a plumber be? I found out today with Chuck at Bedell Plumbing. I called this a.m. to see when someone could come, as my garbage disposal had died and needed to be replaced, I was also wanting them to fix two slow drains in the master bath sinks, and a "light" shower pressure. They were able to send Chuck out the same day, and he could not have represented his company in a more positive manner! He was professional, efficient, and patient with all of my questions. He was able to fix the two drains at no cost, as he said it was an easy fix, as well as checked the shower pressure, which he determined was just fine, but the shower head had a build up of calcium and advised me to soak it in vinegar. I am so impressed with Bedell Plumbing, and will definitely use them in the future, as well as request Chuck!

I bought a tub/shower valve which I intended to install myself to replace the existing faucet. After attempting installation I found that I needed professional help. Bedell was one of the plumbing companies listed in the Angie's List coupon section. We chose them because we were pleased with work that they had performed for us several years before. Bedell responded promptly by scheduling work for the next day. The plumbers arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They were courteous and proceeded in a professional manner. The cost was within the range of costs estimated for installing hardware provided by the customer. Overall, we were very pleased with their modification of piping and installation of the faucet.

Bedell arrived on time and did an excellent job without having to go through the drywall in the great room. A few tile were removed to expose the plumbing and new plumbing installed. They used a cover plate behind the faucet and the finished product looks great. Good clean up and I am very pleased with the finished result.

We came out twice. The second time they did not remember coming out the first time. They attempted to order a part for four weeks. I called him after two weeks. The part was never ordered. I called them two weeks later. The part was never ordered. I spoke to them this week and they had not ordered the part.

The gentlemen that arrived were incredibly helpful and quick to help walk me through exactly what to expect. As a first time homebuyer, I was unsure of how this all worked, so they made sure that I understood everything they saw. Their industry knowledge was top-notch, and I will be hiring them again for my future plumbing projects.

The job went great. We had a whole house water softener and filtration system installed. Job was reasonably priced and was installed over 2 days.

The guy showed up, looked at the well tank, had me run water once at one faucet. He then said the tank needed replaced, and went outside to call his boss about doing an estimate. Why did he go outside? He said the tank pressure was going down after the faucet was turned off. He did not check any of our other water systems (softener, filtration). His estimate was almost 3 times what we paid to get it replaced by a different company before, AND, the tank was actually still on warranty. He should have known the tank has a 5 yr warranty. My regular plumber tested everything we have, and found out that the tank is fine. Our filtration system is causing the issue. Bedell would have replaced a tank that was on warranty for a lot of money ($1500), and the problem would not have been solved. They probably would have then tried to find something else that was "broken", or tried to sell us an expensive water filtration system.

Called in the evening and they were able to have someone out the next day. Pleased with promptness and professionalism overall. Also got advice and feedback on water softener and hot water heater. I would use Bendell again.
