Angel Oak Tree Care

We are VERY HAPPY with Steve's work!!!! His company performed all services listed and exceeded our expectations. We have had several different "arborists" trim our trees in the past. One of the previous "arborists" didn't trim our Japanese Maple correctly and "lollypopped" our tree. Because of the previous improper trimming, our tree could only be trimmed back approximately 1 foot according to several tree "arborists" that looked at our tree. Several companies suggested total tree removal, of which I was told that our sidewalk might be destroyed in the process. After Steve of Angel Oak Tree Care viewed our tree, he made several suggestions that allowed the tree to be trimmed back further as well as opening up the tree so the house could be viewed and start inner growth. With this new inner growth, we will ultimately be able to trim back our tree even further in the future. Not one other companies even suggested this approach and would have cost us the loss of our tree plus the removal cost and sidewalk repair. We fully trust Steve's judgement and DEFINITELY USE HIS SERVICES AGAIN!!!!!

Business must be good for Angie's List contractors. This is the 3rd one who never returned my calls. I used this particular tree company before and wrote a good review but now I can't get a return call. So I now start over. Same problem with Home Experts and Chem Dry.

Angel Oak was hired to cut down one tree in back yard, behind my fence and trim feeder limbs off of tree in front. I spoke with the owner the evening before, to confirm this was to be done. I agreed he could take down a portion of my fence to take down the tree. As long as it was replaced correctly. His workers came and took down two trees in back. I was so upset. I called and told him the other tree had never been mentioned, and this was my property, and I should have been informed. He told me it was on the invoice. My neighbor wanted to pay to have this one tree taken down, because it was costing him money, and he asked my permission and I agreed. Apparently, the owner said the second tree was on the invoice, but neither of them informed me at any time about the 2nd tree. ( The second tree could have been added afterwards to the invoice, when I called him out on this... who knows!) He did come by and apologize, and I accepted that. When his workers left that evening, they left a huge mound of residual tree chips mixed with sod that they had excavated from taking out an enormous tree. When they placed my fence back up, they had carved out the bottom portion of that part of the fence to fit the new mound they had created, thus ruining approximately 20 fence boards. It looks absolutely terrible! I called the owner and told him I wanted it fixed, and haven't heard back from him. I emailed my next door neighbor and let him know what happened, and to not pay him until the property was restored. I also showed my neighbor in person what happened, and he blew me off, telling me he thought the dirt had already been there, and the guy probably did me a favor carving my fence over the mound. Needless to say, I am furious!

This is the second year we have had a large ash tree in our front yard treated in an attempt to save it. It has responded well to treatment so far. Although treatment will take several years before the tree is in the clear, we are pleased with Angel Oak’s efforts. There are many other trees in our yard that we will lose to the ash borer, but we hope this tree will be the exception. We also use Angel Oak for tree fertilization, pruning, and removal and are always happy with their services.

We have used Steve for close to 25 years. We have never had a problem and only have experienced excellent work. Steve is very responsive and can usually come and provide a written estimate the same day I call.

They have worked with us for three years. They are a local company and are always easy to talk to. I feel like I receive a fair appraisal for the work to be done. They always do exactly what I want them to do, and call to make sure that the work was done correctly. They are very knowledgeable, honest, efficient and careful. They always clean up when they are done. I am pleased with the service and feel that I have gotten what I paid for. The owner and the workers are all great to work with.

They are an excellent company. I have used them for over seven years. They are pleasant and do a wonderful job. Our lawn and trees have never looked better. Their prices are comparable to other companies.

I have been using their services for around five years. They have done everything beautifully. I had been using a different company and didn’t think they were helping my crab apple trees and Angel Oak has done a wonderful job. The staff is outstanding. I need notification because I have dogs before certain treatments and they have always let me know when they are coming. Their prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend them.

We have had them for at least eight years. They have always done a wonderful job. It is a family owned business; they are extremely easy to get along with. It is an excellent company and they always do what they said they will do.

Never heard back from them after discussing the services desired and exchanging contact information. Repeated messages to the main number as well as to their individual cell phone went unanswered. I joined Angie's List to avoid this type of situation.

Angel Oak has been trimming our trees for several years and we're always satisfied with the overall end result of their work. When told we would like to be at home while the work was being done they accomodated our schedule and arrived right on time. They raised the canopy of our trees and removed the dead branches - we really wouldn't have had to be around as the work they did was great. Would recommend using Angel Oak for anyone wanting professional work done at a reasonable price.

I contacted Steve by phone and left a message as to what I needed done. He returned my call by the end of the day. I described the problem and symptoms my trees were having. He gave me an estimate within a couple days and came back and completed the work within the week. I will see them again in a couple years.

I have made numerous calls to the office and to Steve's cell phone - left numerous messages without result of any communication from Steve. Only communication since Steve was here June 12, 2013 is a notice left in newspaper holder in July, 2013 signed by Jon and indicated the Maple trees were sprayed. Steve continues to advertise in The Springmill Crossing -( our mutual ) neighborhood newsletter . I do not recommend him to any of my neighbors. I am very discouraged with Angel Oak Tree Service. We have wasted much time waiting for a service we have not received. My husband had left work early ( used vacation time ) to meet with Steve in June.

I called on Tuesday to request an appointment to have trees looked at for disease problems. Also indicated that I would like to get an estimate on tree trimming at the same time. I spoke with Steve who said he could come the next day and take a look. I gave him my phone number and asked that he call me when he was coming so that I could meet him there. Today is Friday and I haven't heard a word from him. It is unfortunate because I had used their service in the past and was pleased with what they had done.

Angel Tree team arrived as scheduled and immediately went to work cutting down the trees we wanted removed (a nasty thorny locust and several others). They were very concerned about the thorns left in the yard and Dustin actually walked around and picked up as many as he could. They were extremely helpful in suggesting a better way to trim some of our trees than we had thought. We appreciated their knowledge. They cleaned up as they went and by the time they left, you didn't even know we had any work done, with the exception of our back looking much brighter and cleaner. Great team! Keep up the god work!

Estimate was given within 1-2 days. Work was performed a couple of weeks later, as promised. All debris cleaned up--no damage to any property.

Arrived on appropriate date with appropriate equipment. Trimmed trees as requested. Work was clean and very neat. Ground up branches. Cleaned up the entire area when finished. Great job for an excellent price.

This is the 2nd time we used them. First time was perfect. This time they did not come out when they initially said they would, but they called at the end of the day to tell us they had a truck issue and would come again later. We came and took the wood and said they would be back the next day for the stump. We had to call again to get them to come back for the stump; they explained the situation satisfactorilty and we would definitely use them again. The first time was truly perfect, I think this was just a one-time glitch due to amount of storm damage in the area plus their truck issue.

This company was OUTSTANDING. I woke up and noticed the tree had been split. At 6:30 in the morning, I sent an email to Angel Oak. Fifteen minutes later (6:45 AM), the owner called me. At 7:30 AM, the owner's son gives me the quote. That same day, they had the tree removed and stump ground.

It went well. Steve answered several questions about taking care of the new trees during the drought.

Crew had to actually climb the tree to saw and remove deadwood because large equipment access to the tree was limited. They did a great job. I am very pleased. I think they were professional, worked hard and safely, and knew what needed done. Clean up was superior as well. I highly recommend this company.

The price was appropriate for what he did, and we would use them again in the future.

They were on time, fast and efficient, and friendly!

The service has been excellent overall. They’re very professional, and cleaned everything up when they did my tree work. The crew was delightful to work with; I’ve known the owner and have used his company for awhile. He’s an arborist and is very knowledgeable about trees!
