Description of Work: Determined what was needed to repair vacuum cleaner and gave me information on how to obtain needed part via online which would be significantly less expensive than if they had to order same part and charge me for service.

Before he could even get the vacuum to the door the gentleman working there came out and carried the vacuum into the store. The employee checked our vacuum and told my husband what was wrong but told him that they couldn't fix it because they aren't licensed to repair the Dyson brand. He then gave my husband a referral and the phone number to a shop that could help us. The level of customer service Ace provides is very rare and has guaranteed them any of our future vacuum needs.

Description of Work: Sweeper quit working. We took sweeper in for them to look at. They looked at it while we were there and discovered we had forgot to put a bag in and the motor was ruined. They gave us prices between repair or new sweeper. They gave us such a good price for trade-in and the cost for repair was high enough that we decided to buy a new sweeper.

Description of Work: A plug prong broke off my 14 year old Electrolux vacuum. I gave them a call and asked if they could fix it and they told me to bring it in for them to look at. I took it in the same day and they said it would be difficult to get the Electrolux replacement part (reel and cord) and it would cost about $125 if they could even get the part. Since the only thing wrong was the plug, they just replaced the plug free of charge even though they would prefer not to due to liability issues since it is "altering a part", but they assured me if was completely safe and insisted in doing it free of charge. I asked twice if I could pay them something and they just said to keep them in mind in the future. It was fixed for free within 5 minutes. What a great, more than fair, honest guy!

Description of Work: Took a canister vac in for service. While I was there, inquired about a new canister vac. Ray was very helpful and knowledgeable, without being at all pushy. Outlined the benefits of new vacs at various price points; didn't try to push the most expensive. I told him I wanted to think about it (I had thought about a new vac, but not too seriously.) I left the old vac there pending my decision; he agreed to not work on it until he heard from me. After checking out the brand he recommended, I elected to purchase the new machine. He gave me a detailed look at how to assemble it (pretty idiot proof) and gave me extra bags for the old machine (which will still be used occasionally) for being an Angie's List member. The transaction was professional and very easy. Wish everything were like this!

Description of Work: Four to five years ago I purchased a ($1100 plus)Miele vacuum from a vacuum cleaner store in Carmel. After 1-2 years, the vacuum started cutting off after a few minutes of operation and needed to be turned off then restarted - it was as if it had a static buildup from the carpet. It later quit running altogether. Since the Miele is such an expensive and well-respected machine, I took it back to the same store where I was told that it would cost $200 just to check it out and I most likely needed to purchase a new ($500-600) head for the cleaner. After having spent so much money thinking that I had was purchasing an 'excellent' piece of equipment, I was unhappy to pay this store even more money when I obviously had been sold a lemon. I took the vacuum to Ace - they had it for several days - fixed it for free!

Description of Work: I just needed a few things "tweaked'' (belt changed, a connecting button that no longer worked, a wheel that didn't turn) on an old vacuum I use for cleaning houses, so I took it to Ray. I also needed to buy some new bags, but when I returned to pick it up, all he charged me for was the bags. He goes beyond what was requested & is honest to boot! I'd recommend this business anytime.
