They did it until we were satisfied. They were great. They cleaned up afterwards. They removed all the stuff and made it into mulch.
Description of Work: They did a massive amount of work. They removed about 22 large shrubs, grounded all of the stumps, and removed dead limbs and a few other services.

The cost would have been way too much. I ended up self-treating. Their professionalism was fine; it was good. The only downside was the price. I would not use them because of that price point.
Description of Work: The Tree Doctor just came and did an evaluation to fertilize our trees.

Description of Work: I called The Tree Doctor to review the trees at my newly purchased house. I wanted him to identify the trees, point out any glaring problems, discuss my plans, and get an estimate for any work we may need to have done. He came out the next day and spent about an hour going over everything with me, and then left an estimate that was broken down into a priority list. He answered all of my questions.

Matt Schulten, owner and operator of the Tree Doctor, came out to our house and evaluated the damage to two of our trees following the ice storm in Louisville in January of 2009. His estimate was $100.00 more than an estimate by Limbwalker Tree Service (also on Angie's List), but Matt claimed he would be out to the house within a week to trim the trees and clean up the significant debris in our front yard. Limbwalker told us it would be at least two to three weeks before they could complete the job, and thus we went with Matt despite his higher price. Long story short, Matt did not come out to our house within a week of our accepting his estimate, or two weeks, or three weeks, despite numerous phone calls to him (that he didn't return) and multiple promises from him that he would be out to our house "at the end of the week." After three and a half weeks, I told him we no longer required his services and I called Limbwalker. Unfortunately, they could not come out to the house for four weeks because they already have jobs lined up. Basically, if Matt had been honest with me, instead of stringing me along, the job would have been done by Limbwalkers five weeks earlier for $100.00 less. Matt was unresponsive and dishonest about the job. I realize ours was a small job, and that tree services were really busy after the storm, but Matt shoud have been straightforward with me. His behavior was highly unprofessional and that is no way to run a business. I do not recommend Matt or his company, the Tree Doctor, Inc., given our experience.
Description of Work: We were given an estimate to have our trees trimmed and debris removed following the ice storm in Louisville in January of 2009. We accepted the estimate and the company failed to perform the contracted services, despite multiple assertions that they would come out to the house "at the end of the week" and actually do the job.

It only took a week from the time he gave the estimate, to the time he did the work. They did the work in under 5 hours and he called to check in with me after it was completed.
Description of Work: I had a huge elm that split during the windstorm. I was concerned that part of it might fall on my neighbor's house. One company told me the whole tree had to come out and the estimate was for almost $3000. I received three more estimates, which were all higher. Matt was recommended by my insurance agent. He told me that the whole tree did not need to come down, and said he would remove the part that was hanging and cable it to the rest of the tree. He was by far the cheapest, plus I didn't have to lose the tree. One of the other companies had even quoted me on just removing the split part and they were twice as expensive.

This company impressed me from the get go. The project took 3 people and 2 days. On the second day, they brought a crane to the yard to remove the big tree. They always showed up on time and worked all day long. They took about a 45 minute lunch break. When they were here they also gave me a pamphlet on how to care for my trees, so I was educated at the same time. I liked that.
Description of Work: I had them trim and prune 10 oak trees, 5 beach trees and 3 dogwoods. They also cut down and removed a 70 foot tall tulip toper tree, which included the removal of the stump.
