+ 0 moreI first contacted Mr. Drummond via Angie's List on December 5, 2016 and was upfront about having a small job, writing: "We have a very small job that needs done, a piece of siding blew off our house (just underneath the roofline). Its almost embarrassing to ask anyone to do such a small job, but I assure you we certainly anticipate having more work in the future as our home continues to age and we would love to find a handyman nearby that is trustworthy. Would you be interested in helping us out with this small job?" He responded the next day saying he would be glad to help, give him a call. My wife called him the next day and Mr. Drummond told her he was tied up the rest of the week but would call the following week. That call never came, but since it was the holidays, I waited until January 2, 2017 to send another message to Mr. Drummond (via Angies List) asking: "If you remain interested, could you please put us on your schedule? And if not, would you please let us know so we could look elsewhere." In addition, my wife called him around the same time. He has not responded to either phone call or written inquiry, which is disappointing, because I was hoping to establish a long term relationship with a reliable handyman who lived nearby.

He's done such good work for me, in fact, that I've given him a key to the house in case he ever has to do work while I'm away from home.

+ -1 moreThe area of work included the entire lower level of our home (aprox.1600 Sq.Ft.). This included two large rooms used for TV viewing and a game room, a bar area, a full bath, a bedroom and a stairway. The area has 5 casement windows and a large full patio sliding door. Don Dummond's Company is Trim Tek and Don is the entire company. He is a HandyMan in every sense of the word. We hired Don based upon the excellent quality of tile work, painting and plumbing that he did at my wife's brother's house. We hired Don to do wall repairs and recaulk and repaint our entire large finished basement. Don is an exacting professional who said what he was going to do and then did what he said. He always arrived on time, was very easy going, neat and fun to work with. He showed nothing but the utmost respect for our property at all times and always cleaned up at the end of each day. The repairs, caulking and painting far exceeded our expectations. He also repaired loose and misaligned trim boards on a post around our bar without charge. We hesitate to make recommendations in most cases but we would recommend Don Drummond (Trim Tek) to anyone without reservation.
Description of Work: After a visit to review our project, Mr. Drummond provided a full detailed proposal on 4/17/2013 outlining the work to be done and cost. He advised on and provided all materials.Work began 5/7, nearly a full week ahead of schedule. Area had several drywall repairs in walls and textured ceilings. He removed and replaced bad caulking, and then recaulked everything. He painted all ceilings. He then painted all baseboards, casings, door jams, 5 windows, 2 columns and 1 sliding door. He then painted all walls with two full separate coats using a second color on some walls as contrast. Work was completed 5/22.

He is very detail orientated, cleaned up afterwards and even repaired my drawer. I am having him come back to repair some rotted trim on the exterior of my house. Definitely the best handyman I have ever had and plan on hiring him for all my future handyman work!

Description of Work: Don Drummond recently built a storage barn/shed for us in our backyard. It is perfect! He completed the project in a little over 2 days. He built the frame in his workshop and assembled the rest in our backyard. He has done numerous projects for us over the years (deck building, roofing, painting, custom garage cabinets, electrical and siding). We will NEVER call another handyman besides him.

+ -1 moreI found Mr Drummond on Angies list and it was the find of the year. I called him and explained that the refrigerator I wanted was too tall to fit in the space in my kitchen. He assured me it was very common and offered to come out the next day and take a look. He showed up on time, assessed the situation and quoted me a price. We agreed and made arrangements for him to remove the cabinet the following week. I bought this realy cool (and big) refrigerator and had it installed. In the mean time, I had to go on an unplanned business trip and had forgotten to tell Mr Drummond I was leaving town. He called a couple of days into my 10 day trip to tell me the cabinet was done. I explained my situation and asked him if he could wait until I got back. He was very co-operative. I told him I would call him when I returned. I finally got home and made arrangements for him to come re-install my cabinet. I could not be happier with his work. The cabinet is beautiful and looks like it is brand new. In fact, it looks better now than it originally did. It's a perfict fit for the space. He did an outstanding job!!! Craftmanship is obviously important to him and his price was more than reasonable. I highly recommend him. You will be pleased.

+ 4 moreIt went just like we planned it. Don had a plan to get things done that we had discussed. Ask me for the order I would like it done, & that is exactly how it went. I added a few things, and they got done also. Great job & we are very pleased!
Description of Work: Had front door replaced & foundation re-built under door. Also, door had to be painted, which he did an awesome job.Don was very efficient & also figured out where all the water damage had come from, that caused the floor under our door to rot,which was a small fix on our roof. In our kitchen we had a sink & faucet replaced. In kitchen area we had a sky-light leak & the dry-wall was damaged,which Don did a great job repairing & painting. Had back service door & an attic door replaced. Had a toilet replaced & new fixtures put in bath-tub& basin in our small bathroom, which we were very pleased. Our big project in our other bathroom was my favorite to watch it come together. Don removed bath-tub, toilet & old floor. Floor was rotten under tub, so he re-built the sub-floor & he tiled a shower area, floor, & half way up the wall, outside of shower area. He then finished by painting.He is very creative & has a woderful gift as I watched our bathroom be re-created. It looks amazing. He is a perfectionist! Don will always be the person I call to help me with anything that needs to be done in our house. I already have a new list of things to do. One thing we are going to do next is a water heater. I am so pleased, I recommend Don with Trim Tek, to anyone that is looking for quality work to be done. He is very efficient, and takes great pride in his work . Thanks Don for all you do! Jim & Vicki

+ 3 moreDon's been great. He provides a detailed estimate of all work preformed, and alerts us immediately to out-of-scope work. After the storm blew threw, Don examined our house an barn and caught damage that I (and the insurance Agent) missed. It was important to fix some structural damage asap, and he worked evenings to get this fixed before forecasted storms. My neighbor has commented on the quality of his work, and we're having him do some kitchen remodeling work for us as well. I highly recommend Don.
Description of Work: My Wife originally hired Don to replace the sub-floor in a bathroom. Our house was hit with severe winds that did a lot of damage to our roof and barn. Don reinforced the back of our barn, resided our barn, rebuilt a sliding barn door, and patched our roof. My wife wants him to finish quickly, so he can start on some kitchen work.

We have always been very pleased with his work and felt that his prices were reasonable. He is completely dependable and we trust him implicitly. He also will provide advice and will be up front in his recommendations of product line and/or type. He takes into account our lifestyle when making this recommendations. He also will research product options and will provide advice based on that advice. We have given his name to other people because we have been so pleased with his work, and his work ethic.
