First response was quick and seemed a bit overpriced but old heating system had failed. The replacement took a abnormal lengthy time as the tech had trouble getting the unit to function properly. It went downhill from there. In May when the temps hit the 80 in the cooling mode the unit kept cycling on and off, call and tech came out early morning when temps were low and could find nothing wrong. Charged for a service call since everything was okay. Later that afternoon the same unit started doing same thing. of course it was too late on a Friday afternoon to make a call and long weekend without cooling. When they did come out they found that they had over charged the system causing the system to have too much pressure against the compressor. One year later the outdoor unit fan failed and took 13 day to get a warranty replacement. Wanted to bill 350 dollars for service call and labor to replace. Told them to leave and called a different company on Angie's List. They pointed out a number of things that were done wrong with the installation. We decided to cut our losses and replaced complete system.
Description of Work: Replace outdoor unit on heat pump system.

Komfort Experts took responsibility of our ClimateMaster Geo-Thermal unit when the bought out Kyler Brothers after we had built our house. We had numerous issues with the Geo unit and Komfort Experts came out for all the repairs and provided service "under warranty". They replaced several items multiple times saying that each time the part had failed again. They did not do a suitable job of diagnosing the issue at all. They also replaced out the coil, which had to be unsoldered, and failed to vacuum out any moisture that may have accumulated in the copper tubing. The last "repair" they attempted was to replace another part that required them to unsolder a TXV valve. the technician replaced the incorrect "bad" part with brand new part without even checking which part to replace. The parts DID look similar but they were appropriately labeled. Several attempts were made to contact the owner (Ryan Deweese) with never a response or call back. Toward the summer of 2011 we had enough and contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturers determination was that Komfort Experts "repairs" ultimately destroyed our Geo unit with shoddy workmanship. We engaged another HVAC company that showed us burnt wiring and worse. We ultimately hired a lawyer to recoup our costs for getting the Geo unit replaced. Komfort Experts failed to show at the initial hearing and lost the lawsuit by default. Several more trips to the courthouse resulted in Ryan Deweese finally showing up for the hearing and claiming that his company was in Chapter 7 or 11. The judge did all he could do to get me my settlement, but the last Sheriff's attempt to serve court appearance papers resulted in the Defendant no longer being at that address. I hope that no one on Angie's List attempts to use this company anytime soon. I think they may be out of business but there phones still ring (no one answering though).
Description of Work: Warranty repairs for our ClimateMaster Geo-Thermal unit over several months which caused a homeowners NIGHTMARE.

On March 4, 2011, Chris checked furnace. Charged for contractor that was under warranty. On March 5, 2011, called Chris direct to tell him the red light was still on. He said he'd be here on Sunday, March 6, 2011. On Sunday we waited, but no show, no call. On Monday, March 7, 2011, we called Ryan and scheduled for Friday, March 11, 2011, but had to reschedule later in the week and change to Monday, March 14, 2011. Chris showed up on March 14 and said the furnace needed TXV. He was told by me to get it done. Chris called back early on March 15, 2011 and said part was overnighted and should be in by 2:00 pm. Again we waited, no show, no call. Called Chris direct Friday evening March 18, 2011. He told us he would be here Monday, March 21, 2011. We waited. No show. No call..After Chris' first visit, I called Water Furnace direct and was told: 1) The contractor is under warranty for our unit. 2) Water Furnace has no requirement or recommendation for semi-annual cleaning.
Description of Work: We called Komfort Experts to check on the red low pressure light on our Water Furnace.
